My mother has been a resident at Hourigan House for just over three years. I can only say that since she moved into what she calls "my little flat", she has never been so happy.

Her care is superb, all the staff are very attentive, friendly, well trained and sympathetic to residents needs. So Hourigan House, I give you top marks.

Fantastic care home. The staff are amazing, they are very caring and treat everyone with respect and dignity. My mum is very happy there and her well being has improved immeasurably since moving there. Every one of the staff treats her as if she is part of their family.
The food is good and my mum enjoys it. There are lots of activities and outings which my mum enjoys. I have attended the celebrations of special events and birthdays which are very enjoyable, The atmosphere is very relaxed and whenever I visit the residents are very happy, they all enjoy a chat and a sing-along with the music, which is playing. Visiting my mum is always a good experience and I thoroughly enjoy seeing her and interacting with the other residents.

I am very happy that my mum is being cared for so well and that she is happy and contented.

Dad was immediately made welcome.

We didn't think he would settle but soon adapted. He always seems happy, he has dementia but insists he is happy. The staff are lovely towards him and he enjoys the tips out.

My father has been in Hourigan House since November 2018. It took a couple of weeks to settle but has since been very happy. He loves the staff who have all been very nice to him, the food too is something he comments on and he joins in most events and activities. He has his owns pals and is quiet, but very happy and content. The manager and all the carers have been great with my family, answering all our questions and concerns. Highly recommend it, it's a lovely atmosphere here.

Hourigan House is a very comfortable, clean and friendly care home. Staff are very caring and friendly. My Mum has been living there for 18 months and is quite settled and happy. Food is very good (she tells me). There is a very pretty courtyard garden which some of the more able-bodied residents are encouraged to take care of. There are activities some of the time, bingo, dominoes etc. Trips out for meals and entertainment. Visits from local children's schools/nurseries. Visits from animals. And parties for birthdays etc with singers to entertain. My mum's only problem is constantly losing her hearing aids, and staff don't always have the time to look for them. We often struggle to converse on my visits. On the whole, a pleasant place to live.

3 years ago my brother became a permanent resident in Hourigan House. In this time, with continued support, his health has improved. This gives me peace of mind, knowing he is safe and being well cared for. Today he celebrated his 70th Birthday, something which I never dreamt of happening. Staff at Hourigan House are extremely hardworking, nothing is too much trouble for them no matter how busy they are. There are plenty of activities for everyone. I cannot thank everyone enough for how they take care of my brother. Everyone is so polite and friendly. I would fully recommend Hourigan House for your loved ones. Also thank you to staff today on duty, for making his birthday today a special one.

My mother in law initially went to Hourigan House for respite. We were so pleased with the care and attention she received that it was decided she would become a resident.
All the staff are caring and nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure she received the best possible care.
We felt as though we were also members of a caring "family".

Hourigan's events' manager organised various in-house activities and visits e.g. Barge trip.

When it was decided that mum could no longer manage to live in her own home, my brother and I had the task of finding the right care home for her. We visited many none however met our high expectations until we visited Hourigan House. We were immediately welcomed in and were impressed with the happy, caring atmosphere that is Hourigan House. Mum has settled in well and says she couldn't be anywhere better. The manager and all her staff are caring, friendly and supportive to mum and also us. Hourigan House is spotlessly clean and residents happy. We are very happy with Hourigan House, thank you.

Last year we were told by the hospital that our mother needed 24 hour care. My sister and I looked at many care homes before we called at Hourigan House where we were welcomed and treated better that the others had done. The place is light and spacious and the staff treat the residents with the utmost care and respect. Our mother has been there for seven months and we continuing to be pleased with the care and more than satisfied with the attention she receives.

Mum went to stay at Hourigan House in Leigh for respite. I found the staff incredibly caring which I thought was reassuring for our family. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum was very well cared for. The home was very clean and tidy (no smells). Mum had privacy if she needed it also there was a room which we could visit mum and be alone with her in a homely environment.

The manager was particularly helpful and often out and about the home, very friendly and spoke to other residents by the first name of their preferred name. Highly recommend this home. Thank you.
