Over all time Roby House Care Centre has 55 reviews.
My dad was in Roby House for respite care following a hospital admission and the staff are fantastic even though they are rushed off their feet they always have a smile on their face and will give you any updates whenever you ask.
New manager arrived in January 2021, and she has completely changed Roby house around for the better, my nana was cared for and kept safe right through covid and all the staff went above and beyond for her, we had regular video calls with her and updates on how she was doing along with pictures of her. Nana is bed bound and her skin is perfect. She is happy and content with her surroundings and that gives me peace of mind. I work in the care home environments and I believe this to be the best run care home I’ve come across.
New manager and deputy manager have turn the care home around and it’s run brilliantly. They are both very approachable, and all carers are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The home is always clean and fresh and the food always looks appetising. Laundry is always clean and irons and put away in drawers or wardrobe. Receptionist is always pleasant and helpful. If anything needs repairing the caretaker takes care of it quickly.
My Mother in Law has been resident in the home since December 2019, originally for respite care but now is a full-time resident. You always get a warm welcome from the staff, who really do offer a high standard of care, nothing seems too much trouble, in the fact they go way beyond what’s required for which we are truly grateful. Care homes, in general, get very poor reviews and it’s only when you spend time with your relatives you realise how hard the staff work.
During the time mum has been in the care home I can honestly say she has been well cared for and the staff are all so good with her she has the best care, and now as she has got really poorly they are outstanding providing all the care she needs with being moved to the nursing floor and she is with staff she has been used to over time. The last few weeks have been really stressful but the home has become our second home, all the staff are so good to her it’s like an extended family, which is really comforting to know she is in the best care and place.
I recommend this home.
Mum has only been in Roby House a few weeks, and we are so impressed with the care, compassion and understanding shown by the staff. The environment is so homely, and we have been made to feel so welcome visiting her. Thank you so much to all the staff.
My mum never complains, she always says how kind the staff are, she is well cared for and the home is immaculate. I just want to say a special thank you to the care worker who took time today to get my Mum to call me on my birthday, it was so thoughtful, kind and really made my day.
Since my mum first went to stay in Roby House around a year ago she has had fantastic care, kept safe, secure, cleaned and is comfortable at all times. All the staff work very hard, are helpful, friendly, very supportive and never complain. All her medical needs have been dealt with proactively and very effectively and we are always kept well informed about anything of concern. We have found Roby House is always clean and staff members are always cheerful despite their being times when they maybe don’t always have enough on duty (but understand how difficult this is for all care providers) and everyone knows my mum by name and can share little stories or anecdotes, tell you how she has been and so on which is great. COVID-19 has really shown how good the care is here with all PPE in place and lockdown well before Government advice. I can’t praise all the staff enough for all their brilliant care work, they are fantastic and a massive thank you and well done from me and all the family.
We found this Carehome excellent in every way. The premises were clean, tidy, warm and well maintained. The staff were caring and professional in their duties and always had time for both patients and family. The standard of meals and services were very high. Our mother enjoyed here time there making friends with residents, staff and visitors alike.
The manager is an amazing guy - he has been brilliant, and we were so impressed that the deputy manager came to meet my grandmother when she moved in; even though it was her day off.
The rooms are all being refurbished, and the equipment selection is excellent.
The activities lady is great and took my grandmother on a tour to meet everyone.
It is the small things which matter too; signs on the door which say the residents name - followed by "likes to be known as".
The team are proud of the place, and so they should be!
I do not live in the area. I visited for 10 days to visit with my mum. I went to the centre morning, afternoon and evening. I can not say enough about the staff plus the atmosphere was always positive. I enjoyed my time with the residents and staff. My family are so happy and relieved that our lovely mum is in such a wonderful place, I came home with peace of mind. Many thanks to all that work there for creating a happy centre.
I have already recommended Roby House to some of my work clients. I know I can go home and relax; as I know my mum is getting well cared for.
The site managers need more autonomy to make key financial decisions, for example, the current very very old TV broke in the upstairs lounge over a week ago and it's still not been replaced, this is the main source of entertainment for the residents.
The old TV was not a smart TV so very limited channels, they have 3 really old DVD players wired in (Why?) and 6 remotes that have one set of batteries and all hit and miss to use and complicated so the staff don't bother putting a DVD on for them.
I have priced a new up to date smart TV and DVD Player, simple to use for the staff and volunteered to pay 50% from the shops, £400 only to be told this isn't allowed by head office. So no TV for 20+ upstairs residents until head office sort out.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Staffing is reviewed weekly by the Home Manager and the company’s Senior Nurse Managers and flexes according to occupancy and the dependency levels of our residents. It has been necessary to...
Mum just turned 100 years and the care and attention she had were wonderful the activities laid on for her was superb and care and friendliness shown to her and family members as well as other residents were very good indeed.
My aunty is in a clean and safe environment. She is looked after by a caring staff who do a very demanding job under difficult circumstances.
Since her arrival six years ago, my mother has felt safe, secure and well cared for at Roby House. The staff work very hard and never complain. All medical needs are dealt with promptly and effectively and I am always kept well informed about anything of concern. Roby House is always warm, clean and staff members are welcoming and helpful. The general improvements over the last two years have been very significant and the current management and staff aim to get better and better. Well done!
Recently I had a relative stay at this care home. I would just like to say how lovely all the staff were during her stay. They went above and beyond to welcome her and make the family feel at ease. The manager gave us a tour of the home to show us where she would be staying and I have to say it was very clean and well kept. We also found it very comforting to find him so involved with the patients well being. My only criticism would be there would be no scheduled activities on for the patients but the staff were working hard to make the patients feel happy and at ease. Good job all round to everyone who works here. I would recommend.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are so pleased your relative enjoyed their stay with us at Roby House. Thank you also for your lovely comments about our staff team, they are delighted with this positive feedback. Our staff...
They say that first impressions count - they certainly do. I went to view Roby House prior to my father spending a period of time there. The Site Manager was busy but I was happy to wait. During this 10-15 minute period, I saw many staff passing by, each saying hello and asking if they could get me anything while I waiting. The respect they showed to residents passing by was lovely to see and exactly what I was hoping for. The manager showed me around and, whilst she noted that some of the furniture was due to be replaced, everything was clean and tidy. It's just the place I was looking for.
My mother has been in the nursing unit since January. She had been in the residential unit until her health deteriorated.
The staff have been excellent. They work extremely hard and I feel that my mum's care is in the best hands.
Carers are lovely, treat dad really well. You can approach them with any worries or suggestions. It doesn't feel like a care home and dad refers to his room as his "house." It has given us as a family great peace of mind.
