My uncle who has dementia came here for respite care recently. He loved it here, the staff were excellent, caring and patient, and showed a great deal of empathy.
The manager was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to ensure my uncle was supported and put at ease as he gets very anxious in
unfamiliar settings. He was treated with dignity and respect throughout.
I would definitely recommend this lovely home.

My dad moved in just before Christmas, I cannot be more happy with the care provided to my dad the care staff are friendly and welcoming. The management also are very welcoming always available and are always on the other end of the phone.

My nan stayed at Abbotsbury for two weeks of respite, and we could not be happier with the care she got. The staff are very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. My nan was happy and content. We can't thank the staff enough for how well they looked after her.

My wife lives at Abbotsbury, since she has been at the home I do not recognise her. I tried for so long to care for her but she was not the same person anymore. The staff at Abbotsbury have cared for her in a way that I could not have done myself. They have got her the professional help she needed and
now she is more like my wife again. Some days I have thought that I could care for her at home again. However, she has made so many new friends and has an amazing relationship with the staff. Apart from marrying my wife, it is the best decision I have ever made. Thank you to all the staff and management at Abbotsbury. Top-class service.

Fabulous care home and staff. My dad is so happy and well looked after. The care home is a bright, clean and beautiful home. The facilities are excellent and the staff look after the residents with dignity and care.

When my partner was admitted to the home in September 2019, I was very upset, I was going to have to change my way of life. The manager and staff were most caring. Due to Covid-19 this year has been like no other. The manager and staff have been wonderful. They have kept me updated on my partner's
progress each week when I phone. They have been caring about my health and wellbeing as well. I am no having a Covid test each Friday at the home so that I can visit my partner once again.

We felt we had failed our mum after looking after her ourselves for so long. The care, compassion and collaborative approach of this team is beyond compare. We still feel involved in decision making and contributing, yet not guilty as we are leaving her in such safe, loving hands. Thank you!

My name is Lyndsey Rafferty, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the General Manager for Abbotsbury. With over 15 years of experience in the care sector, I bring a wealth of knowledge in both resident support and management.


I am fully qualified in all aspects of health and social care, including safeguarding and quality monitoring. My background has allowed me to build strong, transparent relationships with local authorities, the CQC and the families and friends who are integral to our residents' well-being. Together, I believe we can create a nurturing and joyful environment for your loved ones. My goal is to provide excellent care, structure and continuity, fostering a home where laughter and friendships thrive.


At Abbotsbury, we are dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming home for all our residents. We strive to bring love, care, kindness, and laughter into the lives of every person in our community. Our mission is to foster a supportive environment where everyone feels valued, respected and happy.
