The home has an amazing feel, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The new manager is great and has really made a difference. All the residents living at Daneside Mews look happy and well cared for. My friend's mum is always happy and speaks well of everyone.

Mum first came to stay at Daneside Mews for emergency respite care. The staff were really lovely and welcomed her with open arms. It soon became apparent that mum needed more than respite and went on to be living permanently at Daneside. She recently had a fall and broke her hip, the manager and staff were excellent in her care at the time and following her return from hospital, keeping me informed and up to date with her progress. She was very unsettled to start with but has now made friends and is quite happy at Daneside.

I was extremely impressed by the care given to my mum. In one week, she appeared happy and content. She was walking independently and more engaged with her surroundings than I had seen her in a long time. This can only be due to the caring team of professional staff. The building was clean and rooms spacious, would not hesitate to recommend.

I have waited to see what the new manager was like after the very wonderful last manager left, well needless to say we have lost a great manager. The residents don't look one half as happy as they did, the staff are trying to be as good as they were with the last manager but they are working on even less staff now. There are already agency staff in the home again. The manager when in the home just walks past family members. The home seems to smell. The staff again are so rushed my mum is upstairs and there is only one care staff and a senior now. Daneside Mews used to be run very well and run like a family. That atmosphere is gone, it's like a care home now.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are disappointed your experience of our home has deteriorated. Please be assured that all our home managers go through rigorous screening and we are confident that the current home manager...

An exceptional care home who shows care and affection to my mum's needs.

At a time when family find it difficult to choose the right places, Daneside Mews are there to assist and give assurance. We definitely made the right decision in the choice of extended care for my mum. The assurance in knowing she is safe, well and happy is with thanks to Daneside Mews.

The care that our Mum receives on a daily basis is excellent. The staff are always very helpful and kind. They are always having activities in the home. Our Mum has a lot of medical needs and I feel that all this is managed very well. When my daughter was married recently the staff and manager sorted it so Mum could attend the Church. Mum looked extremely well dressed. It was a fantastic day, made possible by the staff and manager. It is a lovely place run by lovely people.

As regards to the care this home provides, my understanding is it is good. My concerns are about communication between the home, their finance office and representatives/friends/relatives of a resident.
Should a resident be paying for their care, there appears to be no structure to the amount of fees charged. I would recommend families to check with each other, what fees they are charged. They may discover variances for the same care and accommodation! Although not illegal, I do query the morality.
I have had personal experience of the home and finance department being unresponsive to requests for information. More recently a date and time for a discussion was agreed. When I rang the home, I was informed by the person "they didn't really have enough time to talk to me".

This organisation appears to crisis manage. This may be due to their high staff turnover, shortage of capable staff or lack of training.

My mum has been a resident for about 6 weeks. She has settled very well and is happy. The staff are friendly and keep me informed of all aspects of mum's care.
Her room is clean with lovely furnishings and she's been able to put photo's up and bring a few personal ornaments etc.

Ahe has her hair and nails cut on a regular basis, which is payable as an extra. So far so good.

My mum has been a resident for nearly 2 years, she settled well and has been treated with the utmost respect and dignity. There were a lot of staff/procedure changes in the first year, and these have improved the care even more. The staff are extremely caring and are attentive to her needs. The family’s views are taken into account and feedback is sought on a regular basis. I can honestly say my mind has been eased since mum's move to the home.

Whatever time of day or night. When I arrive at the home, the staff are always pleasant. They are kind to both visitors and residents. I could not wish for better care for my wife. She is kept clean, well fed and well cared for. The home is always clean and warm, with no unpleasant smells about. I can visit day or night and am never turned away, which proves that nothing is hidden from relatives or friends. My welfare is always considered as are other relatives. I have my lunch with my wife and cannot complain about my meals or the way I am treated.

Once again I can't praise the carers enough for their kindness and care shown to my Mum and us as family and visitors. It has been a lovely few days with the Christmas bingo, party and entertainment and today's 3 course Christmas dinner which my Dad enjoyed as much as Mum. It is absolutely commendable and comforting to know that my parents are not apart at times like this, he is welcomed every day and treated with kindness as we all are. It is reassuring to know that we can visit day or night and Mum is clean, well fed and happy whenever we call. Thank you so much to both carers and staff for all your hard work and kindness shown to everyone at Daneside Mews.

My mother has been a resident of Daneside Mews for over 20 months as she has had dementia for about 7yrs and we tried to care for her at home and to be honest did not want to put her in a care home.

Our fears were unfounded as the care she receives is superb, she is treated with dignity and respect, shown love and affection by all the staff. She is well fed and is in a very safe environment. They have regular coffee mornings and entertainment, which residents families are invited to attend. The bedroom is of a good size and is comfortable, clean and warm. Since being at the care home she has been happy and her health has improved as previously she suffered from asthma quite severely. If there is any hint of her not being well the doctor is called to check her over.

My mum has been in this home (Daneside Mews) for 6 years and seems very happy here. Mum has a lovely room and it is always kept very clean and tidy by the staff.
What can I say about the food, only that many a time I wish I could join the residents in the dining room. (If I asked I probably could!!)

The care and love that is given here to the residents by staff and management, in my mind and experience, is first class. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone who is looking for a care home in this area.
