I was extremely impressed by the care given to my mum. In one week, she appeared happy and content. She was walking independently and more engaged with her surroundings than I had seen her in a long time. This can only be due to the caring team of professional staff. The building was clean and rooms
spacious, would not hesitate to recommend.

I have waited to see what the new manager was like after the very wonderful last manager left, well needless to say we have lost a great manager. The residents don't look one half as happy as they did, the staff are trying to be as good as they were with the last manager but they are working on even
less staff now. There are already agency staff in the home again. The manager when in the home just walks past family members. The home seems to smell. The staff again are so rushed my mum is upstairs and there is only one care staff and a senior now. Daneside Mews used to be run very well and run like a family. That atmosphere is gone, it's like a care home now.

The home is always so clean and tidy, The staff go above and beyond for all the residents. There is always music playing and laughing in the home. Some of the activities are amazing that goes on. My mother has been a resident here for 6 months. We have the utmost confidence in the staff, who are all very friendly and approachable and always available if we have any worries. The home is bright an airy, spotless and well cared for.

The care that our Mum receives on a daily basis is excellent. The staff are always very helpful and kind. They are always having activities in the home. Our Mum has a lot of medical needs and I feel that all this is managed very well. When my daughter was married recently the staff and manager sorted
it so Mum could attend the Church. Mum looked extremely well dressed. It was a fantastic day, made possible by the staff and manager. It is a lovely place run by lovely people.

Every visit I find all the staff I encounter lovely. It is a happy place to visit compared to others I have experienced. Very light and comfortable for both residents and visitors also permanently cleaning taking place.

As regards to the care this home provides, my understanding is it is good. My concerns are about communication between the home, their finance office and representatives/friends/relatives of a resident.
Should a resident be paying for their care, there appears to be no structure to the amount of fees
charged. I would recommend families to check with each other, what fees they are charged. They may discover variances for the same care and accommodation! Although not illegal, I do query the morality.
I have had personal experience of the home and finance department being unresponsive to requests for information. More recently a date and time for a discussion was agreed. When I rang the home, I was informed by the person "they didn't really have enough time to talk to me".
This organisation appears to crisis manage. This may be due to their high staff turnover, shortage of capable staff or lack of training.

My mum has been a resident for about 6 weeks. She has settled very well and is happy. The staff are friendly and keep me informed of all aspects of mum's care.
Her room is clean with lovely furnishings and she's been able to put photo's up and bring a few personal ornaments etc.
Ahe has her hair and
nails cut on a regular basis, which is payable as an extra. So far so good.

My mum has been a resident for nearly 2 years, she settled well and has been treated with the utmost respect and dignity. There were a lot of staff/procedure changes in the first year, and these have improved the care even more. The staff are extremely caring and are attentive to her needs. The family’s

Whatever time of day or night. When I arrive at the home, the staff are always pleasant. They are kind to both visitors and residents. I could not wish for better care for my wife. She is kept clean, well fed and well cared for. The home is always clean and warm, with no unpleasant smells about. I can
visit day or night and am never turned away, which proves that nothing is hidden from relatives or friends. My welfare is always considered as are other relatives. I have my lunch with my wife and cannot complain about my meals or the way I am treated.

Once again I can't praise the carers enough for their kindness and care shown to my Mum and us as family and visitors. It has been a lovely few days with the Christmas bingo, party and entertainment and today's 3 course Christmas dinner which my Dad enjoyed as much as Mum. It is absolutely commendable
and comforting to know that my parents are not apart at times like this, he is welcomed every day and treated with kindness as we all are. It is reassuring to know that we can visit day or night and Mum is clean, well fed and happy whenever we call. Thank you so much to both carers and staff for all your hard work and kindness shown to everyone at Daneside Mews.

My mother has been a resident of Daneside Mews for over 20 months as she has had dementia for about 7yrs and we tried to care for her at home and to be honest did not want to put her in a care home.


Our fears were unfounded as the care she receives is superb, she is treated with dignity and respect,

shown love and affection by all the staff. She is well fed and is in a very safe environment. They have regular coffee mornings and entertainment, which residents families are invited to attend. The bedroom is of a good size and is comfortable, clean and warm. Since being at the care home she has been happy and her health has improved as previously she suffered from asthma quite severely. If there is any hint of her not being well the doctor is called to check her over.

My mum has been in this home (Daneside Mews) for 6 years and seems very happy here. Mum has a lovely room and it is always kept very clean and tidy by the staff.
What can I say about the food, only that many a time I wish I could join the residents in the dining room. (If I asked I probably could!!)
The care and love that is given here to the residents by staff and management, in my mind and experience, is first class. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone who is looking for a care home in this area.

The staff generally are very caring but don't seem to have enough time just to sit and spend quality time listening and encouraging the residents. They have many tasks to perform during the day and always seem to be very busy. The new manager is very approachable and listened to our concerns and gets
things done.
The home is well decorated and light and kept very clean. Some meals are not appropriate for the resident to manage unaided. We are pleased that the new manager is making improvements and cares.

Very nice care home. The staff very nice and helpful and did their very best to make sure my sister had proper meals, being a vegetarian. They went out of their way to make sure she was eating properly.
I am happy with all aspects of the home and know my sister is being looked after, so thank you to
all concerned. As we live away in Cumbria, it is peace of mind.
