From the minute Mum arrived at the care home, she was welcomed by the manager and all the staff on duty. The care home has such a homely feel, and my mind was put to rest knowing Mum would fit in.
It's 4 months on, and she is so at home; she has improved so much and couldn't be happier. I can't thank
all the staff enough for their ongoing care and support.

I arrived two days ago not knowing what to expect, everybody is friendly and smiley. Nothing is too much trouble, they do not mind how many questions you ask, no matter how silly it may be. That goes for nighttime too. I am not a good sleeper, they encourage me to go back to bed, no matter how many
times I got up, with nothing but kindness, even to middle of the night cup of tea.

Our dad went into the dementia household at Florence Grogan House. Putting a loved one into care was a difficult decision for us and we were grateful to all of the staff for reassuring us that they would care and support Dad as he settled in. They kept the family informed as to his progress in the early
days and continued to update us over the following weeks. The manager and his team all contribute to caring for the residents and go out of their way to ensure that they are kept safe and that their individual care needs are met. We were able to visit as often as we liked and were always made to feel welcome. It was a happy place to be, and the staff put a smile even during the most challenging of times.

My mum has been here a while now, it took time for her to settle and accept her new surroundings but the staff played a big part in that with their care and support. Mum is very happy here now and is a popular resident, but again, that's down to the management and his staff making you feel safe, comfortable
and happy. I was made to feel very welcome when I visited Mum. Overall, a lovely, happy atmosphere at the home.

It is an extremely emotional time taking your mum away from her home for the last time. Arrived at the care home and the staff were absolutely amazing, so caring, friendly and welcoming. As time has gone on, I have no worries about the level of care, from management to domestics, my mum receives from
them. It is, and feels, very homely and a pleasure to visit.

My relative moved to Florence Grogan two months ago; she had used the home for regular daycare and respite. The team are friendly, caring and professional. My relative's room is bright, spacious, always clean and well looked after. The bed linen and towels are always clean and well-kept. I am really

My sister is the main carer for my mother, so whilst she was away on a much needed holiday, I looked after mum. I found the staff and management at Florence Grogan House to be caring, considerate and above all friendly to my mum. They displayed a calm and reassuring attitude, which really helps mum

My week's respite stay at Florence Grogan was a really lovely experience. The home is an institution in Chester and the residents and staff are mainly local. It has a very friendly atmosphere and the staff are mainly long-serving and know their residents well which makes for a very homely environment.
Over time the facilities have been updated but unfortunately, as I was self-isolating and only in the home, recovering after a hip replacement, for a week so I could not enjoy them. One suggestion that I would make is that staff ask the service user what their food/drink preference was. Some staff had a tendency to make assumptions which was frustrating.

My mother came into Florence Grogan House in May and has enjoyed every moment of being here as she was very worried about moving into a home. The staff made her feel at ease straight away and the home is very friendly and homely which is great.

Mum came here in December 2017. The care and support were excellent.
They became her family. The food and entertainment were also excellent.
Support to family members was amazing and valued, especially nearing the end of my mum's life.

My beloved Dad resided here for the last 3 years of his life. Although he had vascular dementia he became familiar With and cared deeply for his carers and the staff. He was always clean and well cared for when I visited him and I was always made welcome and kept informed of my father's health and well-being.
My dad passed away there on 21st April 2020 comfortably and with dignity in his own bed with a member of staff by his side. His passing was so sudden by the time I arrived there dad had already gone but I was given the chance to sit with him to say goodbye and ask any questions I had. I chose this home for my father and I believe it was the right choice. Thank you to all the staff.
