Fantastic staff, so friendly and supportive. Always went above and beyond when looking after my auntie even taking her on trips out/ nights away. She loved it there so much and the connections she made with so many staff members were lovely to see. 20 very happy years for her, and she couldn't have

Despite Mum only being in the home for less than a month until she died. All the staff provided outstanding care. Care being the operative word, they really cared about Mum and treated her and all the family with dignity. It was a real blessing to know Mum passed in a home full of love.

Mum received good care from all staff. Always welcomed us whenever we visited. Staff had time to talk to us, when needed, and helped with all our inquiries. Mum was safe and well cared for.

My mum was only at the care home for a short period of time - however, the staff were immense, and they were attentive and very patient with her - maybe they should have pushed her to get out of bed more, but I know she was stubborn and very strong willed so they may have tried and she resisted.
The
whole experience was lovely - everyone made both my dad and myself so welcome - I cannot thank the staff enough; they are truly lovely and amazing. My other feedback is a hairdresser sink for wheelchair users - they struggled to get my mu (hoist patient) to have her hair washed in the sink.

I can only speak highly of Sandiway Lodge. My mum was admitted on a short stay after leaving hospital on a respite basis. Her room was light and airy and had an ensuite bathroom, with plenty of space for her bed, chest of drawers, bedside table, easy chair and a riser/recliner chair. The staff were
nothing but helpful and cheery. Mum made many friends amongst the staff as she was a chatty person and proved popular. They even brought up coffee for her and her visitors as if she was in a cafe!
When her time was approaching the head nurse kept in very close contact with me, in a way she knew more than I did how close to passing she was and informed me in a very professional and caring manner. After she had passed away I was given all the time I needed to be with her.
Like a lot of people, I had no experience of care homes and therefore preconceived ideas - I'm glad to report I was very wrong, and this was borne out by friends and family alike who visited Mum.
I would recommend Sandiway.

My parents were in residential care for 5 years. It was a great comfort to my family to know they were looked after by such a dedicated and professional team.
Staff were friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. We particularly appreciated the efforts made during covid lockdowns when
visits to residents were not permitted.
My parents were comfortable and content right up to end-of-life care. We appreciate the efforts of all the staff concerned. Thank you.

Fantastic level of care given to a family friend. He, himself, had no immediate family, and we are based abroad, so we were reliant on communication from Sandiway. This communication was excellent at all times, and we always felt reassured that our friend was being looked after well.

The staff were very pleasant. Their friendliness helped my husband to settle in very quickly. It was a home-from-home. The home was very clean, and my husband enjoyed the food. The entertainment was very good. Family and friends were welcomed in. Thir duty of care was excellent.

Mum was at Sandiway Lodge for her end of life. In her final week, she was treated with the utmost dignity. The support for us, as a family, was excellent. Every member of staff spoke to Mum every day, even when she was unable to communicate back. Her nursing care was also excellent. She was comfortable.
I would not hesitate in recommending Saniway Lodge to anyone. Thank you to you all.

Outstanding care and compassion were provided to my mother for the last 12-months. This is particularly remarkable given the Covid pandemic restrictions. I would just like to say how wonderful the staff at Sandiway Lodge have been to my mum, who became a resident there on 29th March 2021. Although she was only there a short while, the care they gave my mum, who had vascular dementia, was outstanding, and they made sure Mum was comfortable and pain-free
in her final hours. They were so kind to us whenever we visited, and in Mums final week, they made sure that we were ok too. What a wonderful team of carers and nurses, and you are all amazing.

From the moment my dad was admitted in the middle of 2020 to the day he passed away (11/02/2021), I had no reservations about his care. Although we weren't able to visit much, they made sure he was cared for. I was allowed in, in his final days, and I was struck by how all the staff seemed happy in
their jobs. There was such a lovely atmosphere here. Would recommend the home.

The carers at Sandiway are so caring and compassionate. They looked after my 99-year-old ‘nanna’. I could not have wished for a better service. All of the carers treated her with such tenderness. They stroked her hair and talked to her, even when she couldn’t respond. Nanna was always clean and looked

We found the location in a quiet environment within a garden complex.
The staff very friendly, hospitable and caring people who met all our requests and needs with vigour and enthusiasm. Nothing was too much trouble.
The entire building had character, the lounge clad with oak panel, equipped for
relaxation, or entertainment. The dining room in a separate location, easily accessible for residents who were mobile, from every other room. The standard of meals and selection was superb and well presented.
Entrance into the premises was via a security locked front door. Staff have to be notified by a bell, which, in some cases, could be delayed slightly due to their attention to treating residents which had top priority. The entire property was well maintained and professionally managed, both from the caring, and nursing staff.

Well, where do you start Sandiway Lodge the building itself is a converted home of Cheshire gentry with many of its original features maintained the main hallway and staircase is in fantastic condition, but don’t worry there is a lift to get up to the first floor also many features are also maintained
in the dining room.
Although the building is old it is well maintained and spotlessly clean.
The staff are all very friendly professional and well trained giving a very compassionate service.
The food is also very well prepared and presented we actually had our Christmas Day lunch in the dining room with several of the residents who were enjoying themselves.
On the medical side, the staff are also very well trained and competent.
As we live a distance away we found it reassuring that we were kept informed on the situation of my mother's health.
Also, there is a wide selection of activities that are tailored to suit the residents.
We would recommend the home without any hesitation.

Very professional. Lovely building, lovely setting and great staff.
Mum moved to Sandiway Lodge in early January and I can honestly say that from the initial phone call from the admissions manager, subsequent meetings with her and other care staff this home has more than met my (hopeful) expectations.

We were absolutely delighted with the service, care and understanding shown by everyone at Sandiway Lodge to our mum. The care home itself is very comfortable and clean with excellent food. Mum benefitted from activities such as memory games, stretching exercises, sing-songs and a visit by falconers
showing both a barn owl and a tawny owl. Never a dull moment and we joined in the activities when visiting!


Sadly, mum's needs changed and it was necessary to move her to another care home with more 1:1 care. The transition from Sandiway to the new home was made as easy as possible for us. The Sandiway manager got mum's clothes, personal belongings and medication ready and passed these on to the new manager who made a special journey to do this - much appreciated as I then only had to think about transporting mum to the new home. I was dreading moving mum but the help given by both managers surpassed our expectations.

Mum was a resident for 5 years before moving to another care home. She died several months later. Sandiway was excellent. Mum was very happy there and the staff were all lovely. We all felt Mum was in very safe hands.

Job Title: Registered Home Manager Joined: 2023

I have worked in care of the elderly since I was 14 years old.
Following on from all NVQ's in care I decided to undertake my Nursing degree in 2004-2007.
I qualified with a first-class honour's degree, I then worked in an acute hospital setting in Endoscopy and theatres for 10 years before returning to my first love of care of the elderly in 2017. Since that date I have worked as a senior nurse, unit manager, deputy manager and now manager at Sandiway Lodge.
I am passionate and motivated to engage with our residents to provide dignified person-centred care and help to improve their lives in whatever way we can.
