Mum has been living at Upton Grange for several years now and from day 1 the care, love and attention she has been shown has been exceptional. In the early days mum took part in all the activities enjoying the variety on offer, but now unable to do so, she receives one to one care and attention which meets her ability. The staff take great care in making sure she is as happy as is possible.

The management are always available for a quick chat if needed, answer emails very promptly and in general nothing is too much trouble.

I have recommended Upton Grange to friends on numerous occasions and they have felt the same.

I would like to thank everyone for their commitment to all residents in making Upton Grange their home.

Thank you to all the staff at Upton Grange for the care and attention they provide to my mother. She really enjoys being a resident at the home which she chose to live in despite having designed and had built her own home which she has lived happily in for over 20 years. We both appreciate the care she receives. Thank you.

Mum has been doing so much better since moving to Upton Grange permanently 9 months ago following a successful 1 week respite stay. She had been struggling at home for some time, even with carers coming in twice a day.
I know care homes are expensive, but it feels like money well spent for the peace of mind knowing that your loved one is safe and cared for 24/7.

The staff are all lovely, visiting is very relaxed, and communication is excellent by email (or phone for anything urgent).

Until February last year, my brother had been trying to manage alone at his home 90 miles away. We knew by our visits that the standard of his day-to-day living was not ideal but he wanted to stay at home. However, in an assessment visit from the community nurse, we were firmly told that my brother had to be taken into care quickly. Fortunately, Upton Grange Care Home was able to accommodate him at short notice.
Since then, he has been very happy in Upton Grange. All the staff have been so kind and helpful to him, from producing answers online to some of my brother's odd, random questions, to finding particular TV programmes and series for him to watch. The other very pleasing result of my brother living in Upton Grange is that his overall mental condition has so improved with the social contact and the good variety of activities provided. But best of all is the peace of mind that my brother is being looked after, that he is safe and in good hands.

Thank you, Upton Grange. Highly recommended.

My mother has Alzheimer's Disease and is now unable to live independently. She moved in with my family and I about 5 months ago; having worked in the NHS for over 30 years, I understand that finding the right place of care for your relative is really important.
Upton Grange is home from home and the jewel in the crown of care homes in the Macclesfield area.
The daycare they offer is amazing, I drop Mum off for her breakfast then I pick her up once I've finished work. She always has a smile on her face and says what a lovely day she has had, and how wonderful the food is.
The activities coordinator is so full of life and enthusiasm, the programme of activities is varied, engaging and stimulating. The carers all genuinely love their roles, you can see this in the way they chat and interact with the residents.

I cannot recommend Upton Grange enough, it has allowed me to balance my work, my family and caring for my mum. The Upton Grange Team really feel like an extension of our family.

My mum moved into Upton Grange in September 2018, following a prolonged period in hospital. From the outset, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and Mum settled in very quickly, making many friends. She particularly enjoyed the social side of living with people again. The food and housekeeping were also excellent. Sadly, due to ill health, Mum moved away from Upton Grange, into a nursing home in July 2023. We highly recommend!

Having lived independently into his 90s, our father arrived at Upton Grange in January 2022 as a respite resident after a spell in hospital. From the start of his stay, we were so impressed with the caring friendly staff and by the daily craft activities, which to our amazement, our father joined in with much enthusiasm, having lived quite a solitary life at home. After a brief try at returning home, it was realised he needed to transfer to a care home permanently, and it was his own choice to select Upton Grange as the home he wanted to move to, as he had been so happy during his respite stay. He has continued to benefit from the care and attention of the lovely team at the home and often comments to us how nice he finds them, which is very comforting. A new entertainment coordinator has recently joined and has further transformed life for the residents, with a very varied daily programme led with much enthusiasm, as well as individual attention and encouragement.

My dad stayed here for 6 months until he passed away. I did not think he would settle in a home but Upton Grange proved me wrong. The staff are fantastic, very caring and my dad loved the food. He said every time I visited how great it was and how well they looked after him. They got him to join in lots of the activities which was a joy to see, he even baked for the first time in his life at 91! Highly recommended.

Mum has been to Upton Grange for respite care. Having never had any experience dealing with any kind of residential/respite care arrangements I was immediately put at ease just talking things through with the staff about how the home operated, the care given and reassured all the time I was organising my mum's discharge from hospital. We were welcomed by lovely warm staff, a cup of tea and an instant feeling of relief that everything was going to be OK. Nothing is too much trouble, the chef took notes of mum's favourite food, her room was clean and well organised. There are lots of activities that residents can join in, several carers have had me in tears, they treat Mum just like she's their mum too. I always know Mum is in excellent hands. A lovely home that feels like home.

My father moved here in November 2021, I've found the home to be very friendly and very clean, the gardens are well kept, all staff make you feel welcomed. They also do a lot of activities, food always looks excellent, what I do like is they have pets to visit which my father loves. Their standards on covid are high, which is great to see.

My mum came in for respite care and has only been in one other care home, which absolutely frightened her. I asked Mum if she would go in with a open mind of us trying to get her into a home, she loved it and said that everyone was very, very kind.

My brother has been a resident in Upton Grange for over 10 years and has always been very happy and contented living there. However, in June 2021he caught Covid, despite all appropriate measures being put in place by all staff in the home. My brother did not want to go into hospital and the staff, to their credit, agreed to nurse him. Their care was exemplary, I was fully informed at all times and staff were very considerate towards me during what was a very difficult time.
Although my brother has recovered from Covid, he still needs a high level of care, and this is being provided with courtesy, consideration, and love.
Covid has placed many restrictions on visiting, but staff reacted to the challenges and organised suitable areas for visits to occur safely for family and residents. Prior to Covid, there were always activities available and it is very nice to see them gradually occurring again.

Upton Grange is well maintained, as are the grounds and staff are always very welcoming.

Despite her reservations (and ours) about respite care, our Mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay at Upton Grange. She had nothing but praise for her room, the food and the staff. She also enjoyed going out in the lovely gardens. The Manager kept in touch to let us know how Mum was doing which was very reassuring. Mum is looking forward to her next visit in October.

My friend came to Upton Grange suffering from severe migraine, depression and chronic anxiety over 12 months ago and due to the love and wonderful care of the staff, has become a changed person. She loves her food and the delicious and varied food the chefs provide is a real bonus. The joy of walking in the beautiful gardens has helped her recovery too and seen her become much more like her old self. We cannot thank Upton Grange enough. The staff are always willing to "go the extra mile" and she has nothing but praise for them and their manager.

I was pleased to be able to visit my cousin and see her contented, bright and alert. The staff that I met were all polite, helpful and friendly; they obviously knew my cousin very well and were aware of her needs. Their attitude to her was kind, helpful, cheerful and reassuring.

This is the first time I have visited as I don't live locally, so I cannot comment on many details but I was very reassured that she was in good hands.

Generally good, food is excellent, and the staff are quite helpful. The library is almost non-existent, videotapes almost non-existent, outdoor facilities almost non-existent. Indoor games, activities, music is almost non-existent. Introductory manual/rulebook was almost non-existent.

My mother has been staying at Upton Grange for two years now and I am absolutely delighted with the high level of care my lovely Mum receives. Every day the team creates a sensory activity in the morning and afternoon. The chef prepares lovely wholesome food and they often do parties for the residents, on Mothering Sunday they did a tea party. The room and the laundry are sparkling and done to a very high standard. The gardens are lovely too!

Excellent care for my mum. Even when she had a stroke and came back to the home but really needed nursing care, they provided extra staff to care for her day and night. She sadly had to leave as she deteriorated and needed a nursing home.

My uncle was a resident of Upton Grange for just over a year before he died recently. When he moved in after a 3-month stay in hospital, he was very weak and fragile but a combination of superb care and appetising meals restored him to a level of health and strength his family hadn't thought possible. I cannot praise the management and staff highly enough, they're always professional but so kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. To my uncle, they were friends as well as carers. I live over 250 miles away and although I visited as often as possible, it meant so much to know my uncle was in such safe hands. He had a lovely room, which was always spotlessly clean, surrounded by treasured possessions and photographs and he was happy - which meant I was too. I would not hesitate to recommend Upton Grange to anyone looking for a clean, caring home with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, for their loved one. I will be forever grateful to them for making the last year of my dearly loved uncle's life the best it could be.
