This review is written in conjunction with my mum who attends day care twice a week and occasional respite throughout the year.
She is very happy with all aspects of the care and attention that she receives when she is at Sandiway Manor. She feels safe and cared for and enjoys the time that she spends
with the friends that she has made. She.enjoys the various activities and the trips out in the minibus. The food is delicious and plentiful. As her daughter I feel confident that when she is at Sandiway Manor as either a day care user or a respite resident she will be cared for and feel a part of the Sandiway family.

I have been very impressed with the standard of care and attention to detail of the care staff and management. It is obviously a very difficult decision to place a loved one into care but I am delighted at how quickly my Mother has settled in.
Her room is lovely, very spacious and bright.
A very
good activities programme takes place throughout the month with the occasional minibus trip out. My Mother has enjoyed her trips out to various venues.
Many thanks to all the staff for their care.

The care received at Sandiway Manor is the next best thing, if living at home is no longer an option. It gives me peace of mind knowing the safety and care provided is second to none and I feel welcome every time I visit, which is nearly every day. All the staff know every resident and their care
and patience shines through. I don't visit every day because mum needs me to, its just a home from home where we can continue to make happy memories.

My family has only had positive experiences.
My mother is well cared for and is very happy, clean, well fed and has plenty going on to keep her occupied.
She also has good companionship.
She appears to be very popular with the staff.

Mum has been doing so much better since moving to Upton Grange permanently 9 months ago following a successful 1 week respite stay. She had been struggling at home for some time, even with carers coming in twice a day.
I know care homes are expensive, but it feels like money well spent for the peace
of mind knowing that your loved one is safe and cared for 24/7.
The staff are all lovely, visiting is very relaxed, and communication is excellent by email (or phone for anything urgent).

Thank you to all the staff at Upton Grange for the care and attention they provide to my mother. She really enjoys being a resident at the home which she chose to live in despite having designed and had built her own home which she has lived happily in for over 20 years. We both appreciate the care
she receives. Thank you.

Excellent facility with amazing staff.
In the short term ( 4 months so far) my mum has been there i have noticed a significant increase in the social life and overall happiness.
All the staff know her and all treat her as a friend and with respect.
She is very well fed and is happy there .
I'm
sure it's the same for everyone deciding on when the right time is to send them into a home, well it's my total recommendation to use this home as they have been fabulous.
They organise outings, have a hairdresser ! Organise BBQ's which are great fun, it's a true home from home and i am exceptionally grateful to them for my mums happiness and my re-gained independence.

My mother moved to Trepassey just under a year ago, as having moderate Alzheimer's meant she could no longer manage on her own. Although she has found it difficult to accept her change in circumstances, from Day 1 she was saying how lovely everybody is there. She continues to sing the praises of all
the staff, the food, the beautiful setting and her room with a view, and she has made a wonderful group of friends who all support each other. Whenever I visit I am made to feel welcome and all the staff are very friendly and genuinely care about the residents. The fact that it is not too big means there is a lovely family atmosphere. There always seems to be something going on to keep the residents entertained and engaged and they also organise trips out such as attending a rehearsal of the Orchestra, a visit to the an Art Gallery, or a trip to a local garden centre. I really feel that my mother is lucky in that she is in the best place possible.

Dad has been at Sandiway Manor for 18 months now. He is very settled, enjoys the activities, friendly and approachable staff who work very hard. He loves the daily meals cooked by the chef 10/10 for those too
He's also made quite a few close friends who he enjoys spending time with. They also have
resident meetings giving them time to air their views. Can't fault Sandiway Manor 10/10 to everyone

Our mum has been resident in Trepassey since October 2024 and, in her own words, "there's nowhere I'd rather be". She's happy, settled and exceptionally well cared for.
She had a period of ill health over the Christmas and New Year period and the diligent attentiveness she received from all the staff
and the health professionals who were in ready and regular attendance helped her through to her current much-improved state of health.
She enjoys all the contact she has with the caring staff, regular visitors, outings in the Home's minibus to different places, and all the many activities and special dining events the staff provide for the residents.
We couldn't be more pleased that she was able to move into such a caring, clean and safe environment at just the time of her life when she needed it. We find every member of staff with whom we come into contact unfailingly positive, helpful and happy. Between them all, they have created a really special 'home' in the truest sense of the word

Trepassey

My Mum moved into Trepassey permanently following a short stay of respite last summer. Immediately she arrived she was welcomed into all the social activities which she loves. She has been on lots of little trips out for lunch, to the cinema and a highlight was a trip to hear a full orchestra rehearsal.
There are lots of fun lighthearted activities on offer. She loves the singers who come in, she takes part in Yoga and other activities which are arranged regularly. So we love that there is variety for her and stimulation which is very important when you have dementia. Social needs are so often neglected in the elderly and that is so not the case at Trepassey. But most of all we love that she is so well cared for, respected and treated with dignity. Trepassey is such a unique and special place for its culture. The staff are warm and welcoming and clearly have a great rapport not only with the residents but also with each other. Best care home you could wish for!

We have been absolutely delighted with the standard of care that mum has received. She is always treated with such care and dignity - recently I was impressed with the communication between staff about her lost hearing aids and genuine efforts to find them. Mum lives a full and happy life at Trepassey,
enjoying many of the activities on offer and particularly appreciates the singers. She even gets out on lovely trips from time to time. Thank you so much and keep up the wonderful work.

I visited a friend in Sandiway Manor on Saturday 27th April. She has only been a resident there for a matter of 2 weeks, but how pleasing it was to see how content and comfortable she seemed to be. The atmosphere in the spacious and very welcoming warm lounge was absolutely delightful. All the staff
were so kind, and helpful with smiling faces abound. Nothing seemed to be any trouble. My friend told me they had all been taken out to a local ice cream farm just a few days earlier which she had enjoyed immensely, as she had never been before. I shall certainly look forward to my next visit.

Saniway has supported Mum and our family through a very difficult period in our lives. Mum feels cared for, and we are welcomed every time we visit. The daily activities are fun and inclusive, and the food is excellent! We are kept informed about Mum's progress with monthly reports/Facebook photos,
and if there are any other concerns, then we are telephone and kept up to date. In return, we can voice our concerns and be confident that action will take place as a result. Sandiway is in every sense of the world - home.

Upton Grange

from Gill B (Sister of Resident) published on 26 September 2023

Until February last year, my brother had been trying to manage alone at his home 90 miles away. We knew by our visits that the standard of his day-to-day living was not ideal but he wanted to stay at home. However, in an assessment visit from the community nurse, we were firmly told that my brother
had to be taken into care quickly. Fortunately, Upton Grange Care Home was able to accommodate him at short notice.
Since then, he has been very happy in Upton Grange. All the staff have been so kind and helpful to him, from producing answers online to some of my brother's odd, random questions, to finding particular TV programmes and series for him to watch. The other very pleasing result of my brother living in Upton Grange is that his overall mental condition has so improved with the social contact and the good variety of activities provided. But best of all is the peace of mind that my brother is being looked after, that he is safe and in good hands.
Thank you, Upton Grange. Highly recommended.

My mother has Alzheimer's Disease and is now unable to live independently. She moved in with my family and I about 5 months ago; having worked in the NHS for over 30 years, I understand that finding the right place of care for your relative is really important.
Upton Grange is home from home and the
jewel in the crown of care homes in the Macclesfield area.
The daycare they offer is amazing, I drop Mum off for her breakfast then I pick her up once I've finished work. She always has a smile on her face and says what a lovely day she has had, and how wonderful the food is.
The activities coordinator is so full of life and enthusiasm, the programme of activities is varied, engaging and stimulating. The carers all genuinely love their roles, you can see this in the way they chat and interact with the residents.
I cannot recommend Upton Grange enough, it has allowed me to balance my work, my family and caring for my mum. The Upton Grange Team really feel like an extension of our family.

Mum joined the Upton Grange family for a period of respite care after an operation and both mum and ourselves were made to feel very welcome. Upton Grange provides a homely experience and it is very apparent that the lovely staff have got to know Mum well and she is very well cared for. We felt very
supported when we made the difficult decision to make Upton Grange a permanent home for Mum.

One of the reasons I chose Upton Grange was the visibility of the activities via the Facebook page. Mum held an active life prior to her operation and one of my worries was that she may well be bored. However, the activity co-ordinator provides a weekly varied plan and actively engages with all residents on a daily basis. Mum always takes part and enjoys everything on offer. As a family we look at the Facebook page and can see what Mum has been up to

All staff at Upton Grange are professional, caring and lovely doing their very best for all their residents, for which I thank them for.

My 96-year-old mother moved to Trepassey from her retirement flat in early June 2023. She was made to feel welcome from the moment she arrived, settled quickly and from being frail and lacking in appetite is now thriving and eating healthily again. Her smile and 'wit' is restored!
Trepassey feels like
a 5* hotel – every facility available, is spotlessly clean and has a beautiful garden setting with sun terraces. Staff (all staff) are professional in all that they do – but alongside that professionalism, there's always a smile, real humanity, genuine kindness and appropriate humour in their engagement with residents/family/visitors.
I find it a joyful and uplifting experience to visit Mum and to be in such a well-managed and positive-minded environment. Thank you.
I'd be happy to live at Trepassey one day...

My mum moved into Upton Grange in September 2018, following a prolonged period in hospital. From the outset, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and Mum settled in very quickly, making many friends. She particularly enjoyed the social side of living with people again. The food and housekeeping
were also excellent. Sadly, due to ill health, Mum moved away from Upton Grange, into a nursing home in July 2023. We highly recommend!
