In my opinion, I don't think you could find a better place than Aarondale Care Home in England. It's well managed, good staff and well-run. I would give it 10 out of 10.

Effectively meets the needs of my mother in law. Communicates well with regard to any changes in relation to care needs.
Care planning is done in conjunction with the resident and family.
All staff are approachable, responsive and caring.
The environment is currently being updated.

Would recommend.

This home has been a lovely friendly place with some wonderful supportive staff. They knew our mother well, worked great as a team and we had faith that she was cared for. Six or more of the best staff have left and we feel that the company has not treated them well and failed to try and keep them. We and other families are now really concerned that the care has already started to deteriorate with the majority of staff being agency, young, inexperienced and more worrying, not caring! The ratings reflect the home as it was!

My sister has been in Aarondale for 14 years. It goes without saying she’s happy there otherwise I would move her.

A big thank you to the manager and her staff for keeping her comfortable.

I have experienced a consistently high level of care and support for my mother. The staff are always genuinely caring and extremely hard working. It is so reassuring to visit my mum in such a safe and supportive home, and it provides peace of mind to all of us.

My mother has been a resident of Aarondale for 4 years. During this time, she has received excellent care from the staff. They are kind and hard working and are always attentive to all the residents need. Tthe matron has senior staff who have worked with her for many years, which is an indication of the loyalty that she inspires. My mother has advanced dementia and her care needs are complex, these are always met by the staff caring for her. I have nothing but praise for the care she receives. Her sisters, as well as her immediate family visit daily between us and so, have an overall view of the care provided.

I would like to commend the staff at Aarondale Care Home. They are caring, thoughtful, cheery and extremely hard working. They are all assets to the company who runs the care home. My father was happy there. He always had a smile for them. He also enjoyed the food. On another note, the inside could do with a lick of paint to brighten up the hallways and rooms. More could also be done to the outside areas making them more pleasurable for the residents. Once again praise goes to the staff for their support to my father.

Aunt was very difficult when she first arrived. She would not eat anything and the staff worked really hard with her by showing great patients. Staff always friendly towards us too as I am not there all the time. Difficult to comment on activities but they seem to be the let down.

My mother has been a resident of Aarondale Care Home home for over 2 years. Her care has been excellent. The staff all know my mother, her habits, her preferences, her strengths and weaknesses. We visit unannounced and staff are always happy to see us to talk to us, to let us know how my mother is or if there is anything she needs that they cannot provide. We all feel extremely fortunate that my mother is somewhere we feel she is extremely well and respectfully looked after.

My mother was a resident in Aarondale for the last year of her life. She was well cared for and always treated with respect and dignity. When she was reaching the end of her life she was never left alone, and I was very impressed with the way the staff treated her, to the extent that one member of staff went out and bought her some flowers and said the "lords prayer" to her just before she passed away.

My mother was resident at Aarondale from February 2015 to February 2016. During that period I spent many hours at the home and met most, if not all, of the staff dealing with residents suffering from Alzheimer's/dementia. Although in need of some minor refurbishment I have no hesitation in saying that Aarondale is exceptional. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, which is due to two factors; the stimulating decoration of the walls etc and the caring nature of the staff. Sadly mum died in early 2016, cared for until the end by staff who treated her more as a friend than as a "job of work".

One of the main staff will not tell you if there is something wrong. On two occasions I have had to take it into my own hands to get assistance and both times she had to be admitted into hospital.

Since I have been visiting Aarondale. I have had a most pleasant time with the care and attention given to all the residents as soon as there is any little or large attention needed, there is one or more carer to help each person. There is always one or more carer to help each person. There is always something to keep them occupied with singing, dancing, quizzing or there are entertainers. The person I call to see most days is happy, she has put on weight. I am pleased she is in Aarondale.

My mother has been a resident since August 2015. The care she has received has been excellent. The staff treat her with kindness and dignity, ensuring she can remain as independent as is possible and make her own choices. When she has required more intimate care this too is offered in a timely, caring way. Many activities are on offer but my mother is unable to access these as she cannot see or hear well enough. She is unable to sign herself.

I cannot praise this care home enough. Choosing a care home for Mum was difficult but I never regretted my choice for a moment. The staff consistently go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the happiness, comfort and safety of those in their care (even at the end of a long, exhausting shift). The atmosphere is warm and kindly. Residents are always treated with respect and kindness by all the staff and this must also reflect on the management who appointed them. Highly recommended.

Since choosing Aarondale Care home for the care needed for my relative I have nothing more than high praise for the care given. The management in the top office can not be more helpful. Nothing is ever too much and are always there to assist with any questions you have or problems. The Manager cannot be praised enough. the staff and care nurses always meet you with a smile, again always there to help in any way possible. Nothing is too much trouble for them, no matter how busy they are. The home is clean, food is good, day room has something on most days. I would have no hesitation in recommending Aarondale to a friend as very good, friendly home for the care of a relative.

Care and kindness always shown to residents, no matter what time of day I visited (night staff included). Laughter often heard from both residents and staff despite many trying circumstances. Liked the way they let residents (with help!) chose the clothes they wore. Mum-in-Law was always clean and well dressed. Stimulating decoration in corridor good for residents with dementia.
