With 22 registered beds, 20 single rooms as accommodation with two rooms large enough to support a married or cohabiting couple and a disability-friendly, very large ground floor apartment room, three lounges, an attractive dining area and a beautiful spacious garden, it is your ideal small local home.

Located near Burnley Town Centre, Abiden has dedicated, caring staff to attend to all the needs of the residents with all the amenities one may need on their doorstep.

I have always found whenever I call upon my mum is that she is always well dressed and looks well, but most of all she seems really happy there .I know from experience as I have seen many care homes over the past few years and believe you me this is the best one by far

I want to thank Abiden for all of the care they are giving to my mum. My family is so grateful to have found such a good place. Everytime we visit my mother is settled and happy and always looks immaculate. The staff are always friendly and caring. My mother's health has improved since being at

I am so happy that we have found Abiden care home for mum to live at. For the first time in 12 months we now have peace of mind in knowing that she's safe and cared for. In our search for a care home we found Abiden to be our favourite home as the environment is so homely, warm and safe and the staff

Helped to settle my mother in well. The staff are approachable and caring towards my mother. Spent time communicating with her and meeting her needs.
My mother has complex physical needs and again were proactive in getting her a hospital appointment when needed which has made a difference to my mother's
ongoing health.

My mother moved in 3 months ago, all staff have been amazing, both professional and polite at all times.
They cannot do enough to help both Mother and family, through the whole transition process of moving in.
The homely feel and caring environment is second to none.
As a family we can now relax
knowing Mother is safe and supported 24/7 by an amazing team.

I have nothing but praise for Abiden House , it starts from a certain member of staff through the manager and not least all the staff that work there. Nothing is too much trouble and every care is taken to ensure the wellbeing of the residents.
My cousin took a long while to enter a care home but when
she did had nothing but praise for the staff, her surroundings, and not least the food.
As for myself whenever I visited or rang the efficient, polite, professional, and above all friendly response I always received was appreciated.
I am not one who normally “gushes “ with praise but Abiden House in my view stands out.

Mum moved into Abiden 2 years ago until she passed away in January of this year. We were always made to feel welcome as a family and could visit whenever. Mum changed rooms a few times for her own safety and each room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The whole home had a very welcoming
feel to it. When asking Mum what she liked about Abiden she always said “The food's good”. The staff were friendly, caring and good fun with mum. On a daily basis, the activities could have been more however they really outshone themselves during celebrations e.g. the king's coronation, Christmas, birthday parties where the cook always made a cake and they tried really hard with fundraising events. We have and would always recommend Abiden as a home for your loved ones.

My grandmother has now been a resident at Abiden since May 2023, and the care and support offered to her throughout that time has been of a consistently high level. The manager and all other staff, are warm and caring, with an overall ‘home from home’ atmosphere. Although it was not an easy decision
for Gran to move into a care home, I can rest in the knowledge she is in very safe hands. Thank you, Abiden.

I became a resident at Abiden Care Home at the end of April 2023 having moved from living with my son’s family in another area. The reason I moved here was because the rest of my family reside here.
I have been very happy here. It is a happy little home, the staff are excellent and will do anything
for you. The food and the cooks will cater for all needs. Thank you all for looking after me.

It was lovely to see my mum so settled in the home she is now living in permanently. Her room was homely and clean, the staff make it feel a real family environment and it seems like home from home. My mum has made some nice new friends and seems very happy.

The home on my visits always looks really clean, their dining room experience is lovely to see table clothes and wine glasses.
The staff always ensure the residents look well dressed and the care is given with dignity. The food always looks good and the residents can choose what to have both at lunchtime
and at tea time.
The home has a friendly environment. My mum is well looked after by the whole team.

Since the home has been taken over by a new owner and the recent new management. I have seen a sizeable shift in all aspects of Abiden. A shift very much for the better. The home has a much more pleasing vibe and look. The changes taking place are terrific and have in my opinion, dramatically improved
the life and welfare of both residents and staff.

My mother has been a resident here for five years. Her dementia means that she no longer recognises me but the staff are kind and considerate even when her behaviour is challenging. My mother is always clean and appropriately dressed. Her room is sunny and bright and tidy. The food is good (I've had
some). The staff are always helpful and happy to answer questions. I'm confident that she is well looked after. I can't comment on activities as I don't know if that happens during the week (I go at weekends).
My mother has to self-fund and although the monthly bills are expensive I think it's about the going rate for a good care home.

Having visited my friend of many years in Abiden over the last six months I have found the staff very friendly and accommodating under the circumstances - regarding covid. The management have sometimes been quite abrupt and less so! The home is clean. As I haven't been able to go into my friend's bedroom
due to covid restrictions, I really can't comment on the rooms (as in bedroom) and have only been in either of the two lounges. My friend does rave about the food though which is good. The safety of the residents has always been the priority as far as I have seen with multiple measures implemented during covid. The home's security measures are ample. My only concern is that there doesn't appear to be any activities going on in the home to stimulate residents!

I have recently visited my father at Abiden Care Home and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The environment was extremely pleasant and the staff demonstrated exceptional customer care and a genuinely warm and person-centred approach. It is clear that my father's needs are at the heart of his care.

Hi, I’m Amanda, and I am proud to be the manager of Abiden Care Home. I am a qualified RNLD nurse (Learning Disabilities ). I have worked in the care industry for over 40 years, working in various care settings from having my own care homes for adults with learning disabilities, to supporting adults with complex mental health needs and my favourite time in care in working alongside staff at this wonderful care home, which has a person-centred approach to care. Abiden care home has a home-from-home feel with a compassionate approach to those who, unfortunately, can not remain in their own homes. Our home has an open-door approach, we are caring and supportive staff and most importantly, good listeners.


Our Directors are supportive in ensuring the home is run in a professional way and our care we offer is of the highest standard. I am proud to be part of the team here at Abiden care home and am very excited to offer service users, family and friends to come and meet us all. I welcome you to come have a look around the home and hopefully become part of our large family.
