My grandmother has been living this care home for several months now, after visiting her I am so pleased to see that she is settled and very well looked after. The staff are very friendly, its lovely to see a care home that's being well managed.

It was lovely to see my mum so settled in the home she is now living in permanently. Her room was homely and clean, the staff make it feel a real family environment and it seems like home from home. My mum has made some nice new friends and seems very happy.

The home on my visits always looks really clean, their dining room experience is lovely to see table clothes and wine glasses.
The staff always ensure the residents look well dressed and the care is given with dignity. The food always looks good and the residents can choose what to have both at lunchtime and at tea time.

The home has a friendly environment. My mum is well looked after by the whole team.

Since the home has been taken over by a new owner and the recent new management. I have seen a sizeable shift in all aspects of Abiden. A shift very much for the better. The home has a much more pleasing vibe and look. The changes taking place are terrific and have in my opinion, dramatically improved the life and welfare of both residents and staff.

My mother has been a resident here for five years. Her dementia means that she no longer recognises me but the staff are kind and considerate even when her behaviour is challenging. My mother is always clean and appropriately dressed. Her room is sunny and bright and tidy. The food is good (I've had some). The staff are always helpful and happy to answer questions. I'm confident that she is well looked after. I can't comment on activities as I don't know if that happens during the week (I go at weekends).

My mother has to self-fund and although the monthly bills are expensive I think it's about the going rate for a good care home.

Having visited my friend of many years in Abiden over the last six months I have found the staff very friendly and accommodating under the circumstances - regarding covid. The management have sometimes been quite abrupt and less so! The home is clean. As I haven't been able to go into my friend's bedroom due to covid restrictions, I really can't comment on the rooms (as in bedroom) and have only been in either of the two lounges. My friend does rave about the food though which is good. The safety of the residents has always been the priority as far as I have seen with multiple measures implemented during covid. The home's security measures are ample. My only concern is that there doesn't appear to be any activities going on in the home to stimulate residents!

I have recently visited my father at Abiden Care Home and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The environment was extremely pleasant and the staff demonstrated exceptional customer care and a genuinely warm and person-centred approach. It is clear that my father's needs are at the heart of his care. I feel confident in their professionalism and my father's care.

Thank you

Hi, I’m Amanda, and I am proud to be the manager of Abiden Care Home. I am a qualified RNLD nurse (Learning Disabilities ). I have worked in the care industry for over 40 years, working in various care settings from having my own care homes for adults with learning disabilities, to supporting adults with complex mental health needs and my favourite time in care in working alongside staff at this wonderful care home, which has a person-centred approach to care. Abiden care home has a home-from-home feel with a compassionate approach to those who, unfortunately, can not remain in their own homes. Our home has an open-door approach, we are caring and supportive staff and most importantly, good listeners.

Our Directors are supportive in ensuring the home is run in a professional way and our care we offer is of the highest standard. I am proud to be part of the team here at Abiden care home and am very excited to offer service users, family and friends to come and meet us all. I welcome you to come have a look around the home and hopefully become part of our large family.
