Albert House is a residential care home which aims to provide its service users with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance.

Caregivers strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all service users within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in doing so will be sensitive to the service users ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical, therapeutic, cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social, and service users are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised care plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued.

A dedicated GP from the local surgery conducts regular reviews and visits within the home, chiropodists and opticians visit regularly too. The hairdresser visits twice weekly and provides a valuable pampering service.

The kitchen provides delicious food with the emphasis on traditional cooking and home baking using the best seasonal and local produce available. Chefs produce specialist diets on an individual basis.

My mum was well looked after, she settled in ok and made some friends. She always enjoyed her meals, and the staff were very pleasant. She was always clean and tidy.

Needing to find a suitable home for my mother on discharge from hospital, I was pleased to visit Albert House Residential Home and found a team dedicated to providing a homely environment, with staff keen to help residents. After placement we have noted this attention has continued and also found the
quality of care through personal contact, provision of good quality meals and an understanding of each person's needs was exactly what I was looking for and I believe my mother can look forward to settled and restful latter years.

I have stayed for one month. The staff are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food is fantastic.
Very accommodating place to stay and would recommend to anyone.
Really nice place to stay and clean/tidy. A nice part of Colne where it is near to the shops.

Very pleased to date. I live some distance away and the staff sent me a video to show me what my father's room is like. She even tried to set up a video call with him, which was brilliant. The home is clean and comfortable and well staffed by caring and compassionate people. I feel my father is safe
and cared for.

Our mother has been resident at Albert House for almost two years. In all that time our family has nothing but praise for all the staff and the continued excellent care and support they provide. My aunt stayed at Albert House Residential Home for around 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed staying there where she made a lot of friends, both staff and residents alike. We have been very happy with the care she receives, and the rooms and bathrooms are very clean as is the rest of the house. The staff

My father joined Albert House around 6 months ago and he has settled in really well. The staff soon got to know him and he is very well looked after, staff are very friendly and caring. I've asked him if there are any changes he'd like to see made, he is content with things as they are. There is a very
homely atmosphere and meals are varied with choices and if the resident wants something different then they are happy to accommodate those requests. His room is comfortable, clean and warm, used at present just for sleeping. He says he feels very safe and secure. Management keeps me informed of anything pertaining to his wellbeing. The lounge he uses is comfortable with a TV and daily newspaper. The home is very close to the town centre so it's possible to venture out for coffee/shopping trips. I can relax knowing that my father feels safe, comfortable, secure and content in his surroundings.

On the occasions that I visit my father, he always appears to be content and happy with the care he receives. He is treated with dignity and respect.
He enjoys his food and any member of staff entering his room is always knock and are friendly, polite and courteous.
I always feel there is a lovely,
friendly atmosphere with staff always taking time to answer any queries I may have regarding my father's care.

Mum has been at Albert House Residential Home for 9 months. We have been very happy with the care she receives. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean as is the rest of the house. The staff are very caring and loving. Mum always enjoys the meals. We would recommend Albert House Residential Home to anyone.

Both of my parents were residents at Albert house from August 2015 until my father passed away in October 2016 and my mother passed away in January 2017. The staff were courteous, helpful, welcoming, cheerful and caring to my parents and other residents and to our family and friends at all times. I
felt as though the staff were 'my extended family', as they were looking after both of my parents. We were kept informed of their health, concerns, appointments etc regularly. Could not have asked for better care anywhere else.

Mum was a resident at Albert House, she moved there in November 2011 and for the past 5 years mum became one of the Albert House Family. I am not sure it was the place she would have chosen to be, however, the staff there tried their best and although she would have rather been at home, Albert House
became the next best place.
The staff there have changed during mums 5-year stay but the core staff have remained the same, giving the residents the best support that they could have wish for. In October 2016 mum passed away peacefully with both my sister and myself at her side, the care mum received and the support both my sister and myself had during this time was second to none.
I can only comment on the experience we had at Albert House but if we had to choose a residential home again, then Albert House would definitely be the one. Thank you all for everything you did (it wasn't easy) we will never forget it.

I always find Albert House Residential Home staff approachable, friendly and helpful. Dad is happy and content, he has a lovely room that is cleaned daily to a high standard. Food provided is of a high standard and the portion sizes are good. On special occasions, for example, Christmas, are celebrated
in style. The residents appear happy, relaxed and are made to feel that Albert House Residential Home is their happy home.

We could not have had better care for our mum in the last three and a half years especially in the last few weeks of her life. The staff make you feel so welcome and remember who you are. Also, they helped dad who visited every day.

My mum was a resident at Albert House for 3 1/2 years before she passed away September 7th, 2016. My overall view of the home and staff are of the highest standard. The staff were kind and courteous to the family and provided excellent care for Mum. The surroundings were homely and welcoming. All concerns
or general questions were answered with help and guidance when needed. I felt happy leaving my Mum in their care. Right up until the end of her life, they showed dedication, love and support. 100%

It is always clean and fresh and the staff are so welcoming, and very hard working. The hygiene standards for the residents is excellent. The kitchen staff provide really good home-made meals and cakes with lots of variety. Rooms are not massive, but again are kept fresh and clean. The decor is good
and the whole place is well maintained. The home is situated on a busy main road where there is lots to see, so it would be a real plus to have an area for the residents to sit and enjoy the outside world. Many of them are chair-bound for most of the time and I think a viewing area would enhance the home and stimulate the residents.

All staff are very friendly and very welcoming to the whole family. They are very caring for both my mother (resident) and my father (90 and living in his own home). They go that one step further to ensure our expectations are met and even exceeded. Always ready to help and listen. My mother is in a
wonderful place! Made my father and the families day on his 90th birthday celebrations at the home.
