Albert House is a residential care home which aims to provide its service users with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance.

Caregivers strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all service users within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in doing so will be sensitive to the service users ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical, therapeutic, cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social, and service users are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised care plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued.

A dedicated GP from the local surgery conducts regular reviews and visits within the home, chiropodists and opticians visit regularly too. The hairdresser visits twice weekly and provides a valuable pampering service.

The kitchen provides delicious food with the emphasis on traditional cooking and home baking using the best seasonal and local produce available. Chefs produce specialist diets on an individual basis.

All the staff are welcoming and show empathy and care to everyone. Albert House feels like a 'home from home', with comfortable lounges and a sunny courtyard.


Their expert guidance and proactive action are making positive improvements to mum's overall health, which is great to see.

My Mum has been in Albert House for 2 years following a major stroke and Dad joined her a few weeks ago with age related mobility issues and cognitive impairment.
It's not the poshest in the area BUT the staff and management are wonderfully warm and caring and that, in my view, is more important. It's
clean, cosy and has a lovely family atmosphere. Residents are well cared for, respected and treated to delicious home cooked food and cakes every day (Dad has a particularly sweet tooth so this is important!!) I know that my parents are safe and in the best possible hands.
(My only slight niggle is that their belongings do tend to go missing but I guess that's par for the course with so many people to look after and I know the staff do their best, even though they are stretched at times.)

My mother has been at Albert House since March 2025 and I can honestly say that the care by the staff has been wonderful and activities that are organised are so lovely for the residents . I always feel welcome as well as my wife and other family members . The manager and team of hard working carers
have created a wonderful atmosphere and great place to be .

While our mum was in your care, you gave us security that she was in good hands. As well as giving her the opportunity to have lots of enjoyable moments. As a home, everyone showed genuine compassion and care, not just to my mum but other residents. Her room was also welcoming, tastefully decorated
and even had a good view. Clearly, management and staff work as a team.

I have no problems with leaving a glowing review for Albert House. My wife is treated as a person with feelings and she is treated with love. I know that when I leave my wife in the care of the home, she will be cared for with respect.

I am writing this review to highlight the excellent care and attention that my godmother has received at Albert House Residential Home. The whole staff are excellent, supportive and caring. For the 3.5 years that my godmother has been in their care, I couldn't have wished for a better overall experience
for her. I would definitely recommend Albert House to anyone who is looking for full-time care for their relative.

I'm happy with my mum at Albert House Residential Home. I feel she is well cared for. She is always dressed and clean. The staff are very patient and treat her and the other residents with respect and dignity. Mum has had issues with ulcers on her legs and the home has cared for her ensuring she has
the medical attention she needs. I would definitely recommend Albert House to other families needing care for their loved ones.

I am very pleased with the care that my mother receives at Albert House. She is very happy with her room, the communal areas, and especially the constant and thoughtful care provided by the staff, which is also always in evidence when I visit. Friendly staff greet me on entry and are helpful when needed. Kind and professional with mum. The meals and snacks look good and Mum seems to enjoy them.
I have occasionally felt like staff are a bit stretched although, unfortunately, this seems to be the case in most professions nowadays.

Dad has been in Albert House since July 2023.
It became impossible for him to live at home alone any longer, due to Alzheimer's disease, he very quickly settled in, he seems very contended in Albert House, he has never asked to go home, he's put weight and and loves the food, the staff are all amazing
with him, and he sings their praises all the time, it's a very happy place and always clean, it's such a relief to know that he is happy and so well cared for. Albert House is very homely and all the residents are so well looked after.

Albert House has been my mum's home for four years. Since her Alzehimer's diagnosis, the care she receives from the manager and her team is excellent. Whatever time of day we visit, Mum is clean, comfortable and very well cared for. The home is a very happy place. They have partied on a regular basis
with entertainment, and the residents love them. All the food is homemade.

My mum has been a resident for over eight months. The care she has received has been nothing but excellent. Albert House Residential Home is more than a residential home, it is one big, caring family. The staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum has been very happy here. The support
both my sister and myself have been given, as Mum's condition changes, has been amazing. The manager and staff... you are all one in a million!

Our mum went to Albert House on the 4th of April 2020. She has been on end-of-life care for 2 years with Alzheimer’s the manager and all the staff are fantastic with her she’s treated with dignity and respect she can’t walk now but I’ve just seen a video of her they got her in a chair she’s trying to
sing and swaying her arms. Absolutely fantastic and looking so happy. I can’t recommend Albert House enough. You're all stars thank you.

My mum went to Albert House for the final year of her life having lived 'independently' (with a lot of family support) in her own flat. Though physically frail and starting to suffer from dementia, she was nevertheless very strong-willed, determined and highly resistant to being 'assisted'. No care
home could have coped with her better and worked with her personality as well as the staff and management, always with good humour and genuine care and affection for her. The home is not modern, though that is one of its strengths and there is a sense of family between the staff and residents. As a family, we are so grateful for the care she received.

From day one all the staff at Albert House have been amazing in helping my mum settle in and feel welcome from helping her with her recovery to now being able to return home, Nine months have flown by and I know she will miss everyone. You are all superstars. Thank you for everything.

My husband moved into Albert House Nursing Home in October 2022, during that time he couldn’t have been and is still being looked after by all the staff clinical and non-clinical who are all amazing. They treat him with care and dignity and cannot do enough to help him.
The manager and assistant manager
have helped not only my husband but have also helped me personally. I would highly recommend Albert House.

My father went to Albert House following a period in hospital and immediately settled in there. The team are outstanding and in the end, we preferred to let him die in the home surrounded by people who actually do care rather than in the hospital. I will be always grateful to the team there as they
allowed dad to pass away with dignity. Thank you.
