Albert House is a residential care home which aims to provide its service users with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance.
Caregivers strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all service users within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in doing so will be sensitive to the service users ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical, therapeutic, cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social, and service users are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised care plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued.
A dedicated GP from the local surgery conducts regular reviews and visits within the home, chiropodists and opticians visit regularly too. The hairdresser visits twice weekly and provides a valuable pampering service.
The kitchen provides delicious food with the emphasis on traditional cooking and home baking using the best seasonal and local produce available. Chefs produce specialist diets on an individual basis.

Whenever I visited my cousins always found the staff friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble for them. They always go the extra mile for all residents from what I have seen.

It is always clean and fresh and the staff are so welcoming, and very hard working. The hygiene standards for the residents is excellent. The kitchen staff provide really good home-made meals and cakes with lots of variety. Rooms are not massive, but again are kept fresh and clean. The decor is good and the whole place is well maintained. The home is situated on a busy main road where there is lots to see, so it would be a real plus to have an area for the residents to sit and enjoy the outside world. Many of them are chair-bound for most of the time and I think a viewing area would enhance the home and stimulate the residents.
All staff are very friendly and very welcoming to the whole family. They are very caring for both my mother (resident) and my father (90 and living in his own home). They go that one step further to ensure our expectations are met and even exceeded. Always ready to help and listen. My mother is in a wonderful place! Made my father and the families day on his 90th birthday celebrations at the home.

I find the home does a slendid job, both in feeding the residents and giving that compassion in their stressful times. The kitchen is spotless and well run. The bedrooms too are well cleaned by a dedicated team.

- Good - The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
- Requires Improvement - The service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
