My mother has been a resident in Brookside Care Home for 3 years. She has always received a high quality of care. The staff are amazing with my mother and with myself and sister when we visit. Other visitors to mum always comment on the friendly staff. They are kind, caring and respectful. They work hard to provide a home from home and also manage to have a good sense of humour.

A big thank you to Louise the manager who runs the management of the home superbly and always has time for a chat with residents and visitors.

Thank you so much for this lovely review.

Brookside has the potential to be an amazing environmental space but still the decor and furnishings are looking tired and in need of an upgrade. I understand that the new owners have to prioritise works such as utilities and heating etc but I would hope they will be moving on to floor coverings, decor and furnishings soon, especially if fees continue to rise.
At times my mums room and the lounges are not clean to what I would accept as satisfactory.
Mum enjoys the food but the teatime menu is a little lacking. Also daily fresh fruit and constant access to water/cordial would be good.
The staff mainly are approachable, friendly and respectful. Louise is a good manager.
The new activities coordinator has had a positive impact on the afternoons of the residents.
Mum is always clean and has never had any pressure area damage which cannot always be said of other establishments and is a credit to the team.

She is as settled as it is possible to be away from her own home.

Brookside care home has such a warm, homely atmosphere, and it's clear that the residents are treated with genuine kindness, dignity, and respect.
The manager does an outstanding job and leads the team with genuine compassion and dedication. It's obvious that she truly cares about the residents. There is a positive environment where everyone feels comfortable & safe.

The home is clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and there's a lovely sense of community throughout. It's reassuring to know that loved ones are in such caring and capable hands. Thank you to Louise and the entire team for everything you do-you make a real difference every day.

What can I say !!! Mum has been under the care of Louise and staff for the past three and half years. They are the loveliest group of people. They always have a smile on.there faces , cheerful , friendly , helpful and extremely hardworking.
The care home is like a home from home . They are always busy doing something whether its crafting, quizing chatting, singing etc....

Mum absolutely loves living there and both mum and I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for someone for a family member to go to seriously consider taking a look .

I honestly can't thank Louise and all the staff enough for the care they've given my mum. From the very first visit, this care home just felt right. It may not be the fanciest home, but that's what makes it so special - it feels like a real home.
Louise is an incredible manager and is the home's biggest asset. She genuinely cares about every resident, and that kindness shines through the whole team. The staff have taken the time to get to know my mum as a person, not just as a resident. They chat with her, encourage her, gently prompt her when she needs it, and always treat her with kindness, patience and dignity.
The atmosphere here is so friendly and welcoming, and there are always lovely activities to keep residents engaged and involved.

We've looked at other care homes and even experienced another one before this, but none have given us the same feeling of warmth and reassurance.

I regularly visit my Step Mum at Brookside and am always greeted with a warm welcome from the staff.
They provide excellent care whilst maintaining dignity and independence.
The crafts, activities and music sessions are brilliant and keep the residents occupied whilst helping them cognitively.
The carers have a special rapport with residents and go above and beyond to keep everyone happy.

I would recommended Brookside to friends and relatives.

I'd just like to say a huge thank you to the manager and her staff for looking after my uncle. He's been there quite a few years, and the care he has received is second to none. He is 93 today. I'm certain he would no longer be with us if not for the care and dedication he receives at Brookside Care Home. Thank you to the manager.

My mother has been a resident for almost 3 years. In that time we have been able to see on many occasions the care and attention that the staff give to all the residents. There is a positive and caring culture created by the senior team which feeds through to all the staff. It has been especially pleasing to see the extra things that are done to help the residents feel at home and treated as individuals for example presents at Christmas, chocolates on Valentines day, parties with entertainers, singing and dancing etc. Most of the staff that we met when mum first moved to Brookside are still there and this provides security and continuity of care for the residents.

Most of the carers are cheerful and supportive. The food is appetising and enjoyed by most. There used to be more activities which were enjoyed by the residents and encouraged them to socialise but these have been limited due to staff shortage

My husband's dad has moved to Brookside Care Home after a series of falls.
The home has twenty-five residents and is so homely, his bedroom is generously sized, en-suite and the meals are home-made. He is really enjoying them.
The staff made a lovely Christmas and New Year for the residents.
All the staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful.
The manager has been very supportive during the process of my father-in-law moving in and getting settled, not just for him but for us too, she and her team have gone above and beyond my expectations.

I think we are lucky to have found such a nice care home.

My mother has lived at Brookside Care Home for eighteen months now. She was welcomed, reassured, made comfortable and allowed to personalise her room. Mum feels safe, is well cared for and has benefited from the company and activities in the home. She enjoys the meals. The staff are friendly when we visit and our few concerns have been quickly addressed. Mum is treated with respect and is encouraged to continue with the hobbies that she can still manage. Her mental and physical health needs are supported with thought and kindness. Mum says moving into Brookside was a good decision and we are grateful to the staff for helping her to make it her home.

Mum has been in Brookside Care Home for a couple of years now following her suffering from a stroke during Covid. She was in a previous home which we didn't feel was suitable. The manager and her staff have been great, they really care about their residents and do their utmost to make them feel at home and meet their needs. They work closely with us as relatives and provide complete confidence that Mum is being looked after and cared for.

My auntie moved into Brookside Care Home in 2019. I live in Hampshire and don't get to see her that often, so it is lovely to see pictures and updates on how she is doing. The staff have been very professional through Covid and have communicated through their social media page, keeping everyone up to date with what is going on in the care home. Her brother lives near me, and it is so nice to hear him talk about the phone calls he has had with her and how easy it is to be able to keep in contact with her. It is lovely to see how happy and content she is. Thank you to all the staff for everything you do; you are doing an amazing job.

Mum moved to Brookside Care Home in 2019 and settled in very well at a traumatic time in her life when we lost my father and she was made welcome by residents and staff from the moment she walked through the door. Mum suffers from dementia and the staff did a great job of encouraging mum to get involved in the activities and make new friends, they are constantly doing for different times of the year. They all managed to get through the pandemic with true dedication and professionalism.
The manager and the staff, also the owners, give their full commitment to all of the residents and make them feel as if it was there own home.
Everyone at the home continues to give their best dedication and more to all the residents including Mum. It's nice to know she is safe and well looked after, giving us peace of mind.

Thank you for all you do.

As soon as my father moved into Brookside, he was made very welcome. The manager and staff got to know my father quickly, and all do their best to ensure that he is happy there. He feels safe and cared for and enjoys his meals and participating in events. He is now looking so much better, more relaxed and happy.
As a family, we feel we are always kept well-informed and supported. Staff are considerate of the needs of individual family members.

Many thanks to all at Brookside for your excellent care.
