We have been really happy with the care my Dad has received in the few months he has been there. He has settled in well and feel the staff all know him well in a short space of time. The home feels very homely, a nice addition is the cafe for a change of scenery and we've enjoyed sitting in the garden with my Dad. All staff have made us feel very welcome and you can see the respect they have for all their residents. My Dad coming here has been hard for us all as a family as we live almost 2 hrs away and not able to visit as often as we would like. But we feel comfortable leaving him, as we know he is safe, settled and very well looked after. Since coming here I feel like ive gotten a little bit of my Dad back, which has meant everything to us all.

Dovedale provides an environment and atmosphere that genuinely feels like "home" rather than "a home". The layout is thoughtful, with beautiful places to find quiet space and a change of scenery and garden space that is cared for and lovely to spend time in. The warmth and general atmosphere here is in no small part a result of putting together and leading an engaged resilient and long serving team of nurses, carers and staff who are directly employed. The use of agency and contract staff for cover is avoided and the vital nature of nurses and carers knowing the people they are looking after protected. Anyone who is experiencing this journey with a loved one will understand the relief that comes when the care they are receiving is good. In the Tesseyman suite at Dovedale it is exceptional and beyond any comparison. My Dad is the happiest and most settled I have seen him in a number of years. I hope that your care endures for My Dad and others and that those that need you find you.

Quite superb!

My Dad has been a resident at Dovedale Court for the past four years. It is such a fantastic place with the most caring and attentive staff.

The facilities are great with lovely gardens, rooms and communal areas.

The staff are amazingly professional but also loving and caring. They look after the residents with dignity and compassion.

The activities are frequent and varied, with parties, singers, animals and trips a plenty. When they identify a particular passion, they try to fill it, taking residents, bowling or to bike events or gardens.

Dad has unfortunately had to move to a nursing home due to increased needs and the team helped find and vet a place, helped negotiate a room and have visited him at his new home.

We simply could not have managed the past four years without them.

All the staff have been superb and it feels unfair to single any of them out but three members of staff deserve particular mention.

Thank you so much for all you have done x

Barchester Dovedale Court Care Home is a fantastic place. Mum is looked after perfectly and is always clean and well fed and cared for. Never had any issues and trust the staff implicitly. They are all so caring and treat Mum with respect and dignity. I have seen inside many care homes throughout Lancashire in my job and nowhere comes close to Dovedale - no comparison. It's a wonderful place.

My mother is a resident at Barchester Dovedale Court Care Home. She moved in around January 2024. She has completely changed since moving there. She is happier. She laughs and is chatting all the time. A complete change from her previous home. The staff that really make up Dovedale are amazing. They are skilled, enthusiastic, caring, cheerful, well-trained professionals. I dread to think where we and our mother would be without them. Lifesavers. Can't say enough good things about Dovedale and the staff.

My father has significant support needs. He has been at Barchester Dovedale Court Care Home for six years and has received tremendous care and support in all that time. On three occasions, he has been diagnosed as likely to pass in the next few days and on each occasion, the staff have helped nurse him to much stronger health. They are caring, friendly and very effective at looking after my father and the other residents. We could not recommend the place more highly.

We had a lovely time on the 12th of July celebrating Mum's 94th birthday. I attended, along with Mum husband - Dad and my husband. Had a wonderful three-course meal laid on by the staff making it a special occasion and Dad will be writing himself to thank the home personally. In my experience, the staff are always attentive and caring. The overall feeling one gets whilst visiting mum is one of a loving and caring 'home from home'. We are now looking forward to my parents' 70th wedding anniversary celebration, organised by the staff. Lovely food (and a wonderful cake) by the chef.
