Dad moved into Eric Morecambe House in October 2023. The accommodation he has is brilliant, just like a small flat with a kitchen, bathroom and lounge. The care the staff give to him and us as his family is brilliant, we receive updates on his care regularly as dad is 92 years of age. The food in the
restaurant is amazing, we can actually eat there with him for a very small charge if we want to. Dad has even said if he won the lottery (yes he still does it) he wouldn't move away from Eric Morecambe House. I would highly recommend this retirement home it's the best in my opinion in the area where the staff feel like friends, not carers but they still remain very professional and give their all to the residents. Shout out to maintenance as well, any problems which to be honest there haven't been many and it's usually my dad wanting something doing personally for himself its sorted out straight away. Well done!

We looked at many homes before choosing one for Mum, but we knew instantly Eric Morecambe House was the one. It stood out from all the others for the cleanliness; the friendliness of the staff, the willingness to cater for Mum's unusual dietary requirements, the daily activities provided and the freedom
to have Mum's bedroom as she wished. The whole ethos of the home seems to be centred around making the residents happy and we have not been disappointed. Keep up the good work, you are all amazing.

My father resided at Eric Morecambe House from 2015. The friendly, loving care he received from the staff was excellent. During June/July 2023 my father needed palliative care, the staff at the home coupled with the NHS community team looked after him during a very difficult time. The homecare staff
have my upmost admiration. Thank you.

My mum moved into Eric Morecambe House just over a month ago with Alzheimer's dementia. Mum has settled really quickly and is very happy there. The staff have been great at helping her settle, the food is excellent and communication from the management team has been very good. It’s not an easy transition
from home to a Care Home but the team at Eric Morecambe House have helped to make it as smooth as possible. Thank you.

Eric Morecambe House is the flagship establishment in the Anchor Housing group in our opinion. It's never been an easy decision to admit a relative into permanent care, for the relative of yourself. As a family, we are delighted with the whole approach that Eric Morecambe House has from settling, caring,
meals, residents' views and care and maintenance of the building. Also, how thoughtful they are towards members of the extended family. We definitely made the correct decision to move our beloved mother here.

The care given to my dad is excellent. The staff are caring and every single person of staff is lovely to both Dad and his family We love the home and know he is in the best possible care, we couldn't wish for better. I am grateful every time I go to see Dad that we were able to get a place for him
at Eric Morecambe House. The home itself feels like a proper home and it seems there is nothing too much trouble to keep residents and their families happy.

My mother came to Morecambe House in May 2022. From the initial guided tour by the home manager, we knew we'd made the right choice. The home is so clean and light, the staff bar none are all excellent. I always get a phone call if there are any updates about Mum. More importantly, she loves living
there. She says, 'I should have come here years ago.'

My 91 years old mother went into Eric Morecambe House at the beginning of February as she was no longer able to cope at home, even with carers. The home is purpose-built, unlike most in Morecambe, and has ensuite rooms, some with kitchens (which she did not need). Everything is clean and bright which
makes for a happy and relaxed atmosphere. The best element however is the staff. Everybody is engaged and interested in doing their best for Mum, from the practical necessities to trying to stimulate and improve her state of mind. They have taken over her health care and liaise closely with the Doctors and District Nurse, whilst keeping me fully informed of any issues.

I cannot praise the team enough. My Mum was so happy with the environment and the care she had. She enjoyed the patio, chatting with carers, the food and her room was comfortable and warm. She was living there at the most difficult time and although she struggled with the restrictions she knew that
they were want to protect everyone and were very successful in doing so. Staff were amazing at keeping us up to date and their compassion and skills were first class. Highly recommended!

I cannot recommend this care home enough. My mum has lived at this home for nearly 3 years and I cannot in that time fault the care she has received. The manager does an excellent job and is approachable, knowledgeable, and professional. The care staff do an amazing job and treat mum with the utmost
respect and care. The carers are delightful and always keep me updated on any health issues and concerns.

My mother has been there for only three weeks and can be quite difficult at times, but all the staff I have spoken with have bent over backwards to ensure she is as happy as possible. Cannot thank the manager and staff enough for being so patient with mum and us. Mum says food is good and the staff
are lovely even though they are rushed off their feet, they take the time when talking to you not to feel as though you are taking up their valuable time. Well done all staff at Eric Morecambe House.

It's a very traumatic and difficult decision to make when necessity dictates moving a loved relative from their own home to a care home. I would like to say the management and staff made the move for Mum so much better than it could have been.
Mum has dementia and struggles to communicate; the staff
understand this and manage it very well.
Mum has been a resident at Eric Morecambe House for almost 18-months now and her life is far superior to how it was prior to moving to the home.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious enough to allow residents to have a private bedroom with sitting and TV area in addition to a private bathroom. Mums room also has a small kitchenette area where we are able to make our own drinks and enables Mum to feel like she is entertaining us in her own home.
Coronavirus - I would like to thank management and staff for handling this very difficult situation extremely well; they could not have done better; I cannot praise them enough. Thank you!

My Gran has been in Eric Morecambe house since January 18, she has her own little cosy flat. She is well looked after and safe. I used to worry about her well-being, but knowing she is being looked after is so reassuring. The staff are lovely, and visiting is a pleasure. I feel quite at home now and
very spoilt when I visit, being made cups of tea with fresh fruit and home baking. Well done as well, for all the hard work that has been done over this difficult period of time; thanks all.

A very friendly atmosphere with caring, professional and efficient staff. Nothing is too much trouble for the residents or their families. There is always a warm welcome. Residents are well cared for with a range of activities in comfortable, well-furnished surroundings, plus there is always a varied,

Can’t speak highly enough of the care given to my father, he’s very happy there. The staff are very friendly and always helpful, they try to accommodate any request you make and always keep you informed of any changes in the health of the resident, even minor things, which is great. That way it’s not
a shock when I take my mother to visit or a video call during the present situation a top place.

The staff at Eric Morecambe House have gone over and above in providing the excellent care and support to my father, especially during this time of lockdown. They always treat him with dignity and respect and provide regular checks.
As a family member, I have been unable to visit to ensure the chances
of Covid-19 coming into the building and affecting staff and residents are kept to a minimum. During this time the staff have ensured that we are able to maintain regular contact with our loved ones via Skype and telephone. We also get the chance to enjoy photos posted by the staff of our family members, in the garden, or undertaking an activity.
Knowing how well my father has been looked after gives me huge peace of mind, and I know how fond my dad has become of all the staff.
The home has always been bright, immaculately clean and welcoming. The meals are delicious, and are nutritious, and varied, catering to all dietary requirements.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.879)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.879) out of 10 for Eric Morecambe House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.879 for Eric Morecambe House is calculated as follows: ( (220 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 248 Ratings = 4.879
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Eric Morecambe House is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
