Can’t speak highly enough of the care given to my father, he’s very happy there. The staff are very friendly and always helpful, they try to accommodate any request you make and always keep you informed of any changes in the health of the resident, even minor things, which is great. That way it’s not a shock when I take my mother to visit or a video call during the present situation a top place.

The staff at Eric Morecambe House have gone over and above in providing the excellent care and support to my father, especially during this time of lockdown. They always treat him with dignity and respect and provide regular checks.
As a family member, I have been unable to visit to ensure the chances of Covid-19 coming into the building and affecting staff and residents are kept to a minimum. During this time the staff have ensured that we are able to maintain regular contact with our loved ones via Skype and telephone. We also get the chance to enjoy photos posted by the staff of our family members, in the garden, or undertaking an activity.
Knowing how well my father has been looked after gives me huge peace of mind, and I know how fond my dad has become of all the staff.

The home has always been bright, immaculately clean and welcoming. The meals are delicious, and are nutritious, and varied, catering to all dietary requirements.

Eric Morecambe House has been a fantastic home for Grandma. It’s a lovely, welcoming environment and the staff have been brilliant with both her and us as a family. Thank you.

Particularly during the last few months when we’ve been unable to visit - it has been great to keep in touch via video calls. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you.

Activities could be more varied and more age-specific as well as better publicised. Apart from that, the staff are friendly, approachable and professional. The food is varied, tasty and plentiful. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Overall, this is a homely place which is highly recommended.

My father has been in Eric Morecambe for about four years, and my mum was in just over a year until her recent passing.
Throughout this period, my family has been shown respect, compassion and received the best of care.

This has given us great comfort, and a relationship has built up with the staff; where we are friends.

The activities plans are very good but often the activities cannot take place due to staff shortage. The range of activities planned is designed to meet the needs of residents with varying interests and abilities.

Everything is satisfactory. Staff are very hard-working on behalf of all the residents and they do their best (however busy) to accommodate our wishes. They seldom lose patience, even when faced with unreasonable requests at the busiest of times.

Eric Morecambe House is a wonderful care home. My mum has been there since July 2018 and we feel so lucky that she is there. She is cared for so well by the staff. From the day we went to view the care home the staff were so welcoming and friendly.
Not only do they look after the residents so well living there, but they are also kind to the families. Nothing is too much trouble.
My mum has a beautiful room and we have been able to bring lots of her own belongings from her house to make the transition from home to care home that much easier.
There is always so much going on like a quiz night, movie night - I walked in one evening to find my mum doing rock 'n' roll with the other residents and staff! The staff have taken my mum out in their new minibus lots of times which she really enjoys and last week they took her out for breakfast. On bonfire night, all the families were invited for tea and to watch the firework display that the staff arranged. It was a really lovely, memorable evening with many of the residents watching from the beautiful garden that they have.

I cannot recommend Eric Morecambe House enough. It is a beautiful home with the most kind and caring staff who look after my mum so well - she really is happy there.

After one month Mum has settled into her new accommodation and says it "feels like home". From the very first day the management, care staff, maintenance and dining crew have gone out of their way to make Mum's room attractive and comfortable and to learn Mum's likes and dislikes. Endlessly kind and patient, all carers respond quickly and affectionately. Similarly, management address questions or concerns immediately.
Just couldn't be happier with the quality of care, cleanliness, safety and food which is all homemade, well presented and delicious! Excellent value for money.

Lastly, I feel extremely happy about Mum being here since I live far away.

My mother was a resident from July 2014 until she passed away on 16th February 2018. She received excellent care - the home is clean, safe and all the staff are very well trained. I visited at all hours, always welcomed, staff and management knew us well. Mother was tended with love and dignity in her final days, the staff could not have done more.

I am certainly happy to have chosen Eric Morecambe House and could not have found any better care home. The facilities here are excellent. The staff are pleasant and helpful at all times even when rushed off their feet and challenged by the behaviour of unreasonable patients.

I have been happily living here for six years and have received excellent care. I like the informal atmosphere. Regarding activities, there are plenty arranged for us if you wish to attend. I usually enjoy watching things I fancy on my own TV in my flat or playing my piano. The food is good with considerable choice. Medical care is well organised and is there immediately in an emergency. There is a pleasant patio with trees, flowering plants and birds, big enough to walk around or just sit and relax. Visitors are made welcome.

Eric Morecambe House is a lovely care home.
The home is spotlessly clean.
The staff are always friendly and helpful.
When I leave my relative after visiting I am confident that they are being well supported and cared for.

My relative is always keen to tell me it is a good place with plenty to eat and that they are kept clean and looked after.

From my mother's initial assessment prior to being admitted to the Eric Morecambe House, everyone has tried their level best to accommodate Mum's needs up to today's date.
There have been several little incidents, like lost teeth, glasses, hearing aids but staff always try to help.
When Mum had a fall I was informed straight away.
When in the first weeks Mum refused showers and baths, the staff continued to encourage her and they finally won.
The food always looks good and the laundry service is wonderful.

As a visitor, I'm always made welcome and offered a drink.

Mum was accepted here with dementia and as a zimmer frame/wheelchair user. Within 6 months she was served an eviction notice as they couldn't cope with her 'wandering' (zimmer frame, snail pace) and 'aggression'. Aggressive behaviour was mild and part of dementia 'Sundowning'. I find it hard to understand why this home class themselves as Dementia Specialists. Although the house itself is ok, I have rated the value for money as 'poor' simply because they are posing as dementia specialists, which they are definitely not, as once advanced symptoms appear, they evict the 'problem'.

The review relates to events of August 2016. Anchor did not receive a complaint relating to these events at the time.
