My mother has been in Fleetwood Hall for 2 years with Dementia and I have been very happy with the care she has received in this time. As caring for a person with Dementia can be very challenging, we cannot thank the staff for looking after Mum especially in these difficult times.
Reply from Joanne Warren, Registered Manager at Fleetwood HallThank you for your review, I am very pleased that you are happy with the care your Mum has received. I will ensure your feedback is passed on to the staff teams, as positive feedback is always good to receive. The staff teams have worked so hard to offer consistency and familiarity, especially during this unprecedented time. We are thankful for everyone's encouraging words and support. We look forward to welcoming you back to Fleetwood Hall when it is safe to do so. Thank you, Joanne.

My father recently moved in the Hall and although I cannot see him at the moment due to the Virus the staff keep me up to date on all matters and my father really enjoys it here and likes all the staff and residents and the home cooked food all well as all the treats that local businesses provide.
Reply from Joanne Warren, Registered Manager at Fleetwood HallThank you so much for taking the time to write a review and for your encouraging words. I am happy you feel we are keeping you up to date especially during this unprecedented time. It is lovely to get feedback about the home-cooked food, I will look forward to telling the kitchen staff who work extremely hard to cater for a wide and varied audience. We too are so humbled by the community response and treats that local businesses have provided, it really has been heartwarming. We look forward to seeing you again soon and welcoming you back into Fleetwood Hall. Thank you again, Joanne.

Since a change in Management towards the end of 2019, we have seen a vast improvement in the standards of care, cleanliness, and hygiene at the premises. The residents and staff all seem to be happier. My step dad has been a resident since October 2016, and we are extremely grateful for the care and
compassion shown to my step dad, particularly when he was taken quite seriously ill just before Christmas 2019. Unfortunately we live quite some distance away and have a 4 hour drive each way to make any visits, so not as often as we would like. The staff always telephone us if dad has any falls or does become ill, and we are very satisfied with the constant updates and reassurance from the staff.
Reply from Joanne Warren, Registered Manager at Fleetwood HallMany thanks for taking the time to leave a review for Fleetwood Hall. It is always a pleasure to receive such positive feedback. I will most certainly pass your comments on to the team. It is good to know that you feel you are kept informed. We do understand that for some families who live further away, updates are most certainly needed to offer reassurance and comfort. I am happy that you have been reassured by this, especially during this unprecedented time, and whilst visits have temporarily suspended. We do hope to return to a 'new normal' soon and look forward to seeing you visit especially near someones 90th. Thank you again, Joanne

I have been very impressed with the care provided to my father over the last 2 and a half years. He has been treated in a professional and friendly manner by staff who clearly care very much about their role.
They have been particularly diligent over recent weeks and have kept the residents safe as
well as keeping relatives informed and reassured.
Reply from Joanne Warren, Registered Manager at Fleetwood HallThank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave a review. We are very proud of our staff teams, from all departments, who work hard to provide the best service. It has been even more visible over the last 10 weeks or so, whilst we all adapt to this changing situation, and they have done so with no qualms. We continue to keep all measures in place to ensure the best safety we can for our residents. I am happy too that you feel you have been kept informed. We look forward to welcoming you into Fleetwood Hall when it is safe to do so. Thank you, Joanne

My mother has been a resident since October 2018, unfortunately, two weeks ago she passed away, very peacefully having suffered a major stroke at the age of 96.
As her son, I requested that her last days be spent back in the loving care at Fleetwood Hall rather than the end of life care provided in
hospital. The reasons being that the staff provided love, compassion, dignity and respect. As a family, we were desperate to ensure that at the end of life she would have all of those comforts. My father also passed away in Fleetwood Hall in 2012 at the age of 90 and he also was treated with great love and respect by the caring staff at the Hall.
The family would like to provide our sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff and we wish them the very best for the future.
We wish you every success.

During our 1st visit to have a look around, mum was invited to go for lunch the next day and to stay for a couple of hours afterwards. When a vacancy arose recently, she was invited to have a week's trial period which she did and is now a permanent resident. Mum has been made to feel very welcome and
the staff have introduced themselves on meeting her. She enjoys having a chat with them.
She is a smoker, so is only allowed to smoke outside but the manager has gone one step further by suggesting that she has a room with a patio door, so it is more convenient for her to pop outside when she needs a smoke.
I was invited to attend a meeting for the residents, held by the chef and was very impressed that he wanted to know their food likes and dislikes. He encouraged everyone to join in, listened to their ideas and is now going to make changes to the existing menu.
My first impressions of the home/staff have been good and I hope this continues as mum seems quite happy at the moment.

After the manager did an assessment of my needs and confirmed that they would be able to take me when a vacancy arose, I went for a week's trial. I was encouraged to take some of my personal belonging with me to make it feel more like home. My room is quite spacious with plenty of storage space and
it has its own bathroom which is easily accessible with a walk-in shower. The staff help me to get out of bed and wash and dress me which I find very good. All my washing and ironing is done for me but some items have gone missing so I have to get someone to try to find them.
I haven't been very impressed with some of the food since I arrived a fortnight ago but the chef recently held a meeting with the residents to discuss our likes and dislikes on the menu and is hopefully going to make some changes soon.
I have now decided to stay permanently as I feel safer and well looked after.

My dad has been in Fleetwood Hall since late February.
This was a very difficult time for all of us but has been made much easier to live with knowing that Dad is being so well looked after.
The management is always there to listen to any problems or concerns.
The carers do a truly amazing job especially
given the long hours they work.
It's not an easy job and I can't praise them highly enough.
My only slight niggle is the amount of lost personal possessions since Dad has been there, three pairs of glasses and a watch.
I understand residents wander into each other's rooms so I'm not sure what the solution is.

My mum was admitted with vascular dementia in September 2016. Her care whilst resident at Fleetwood Hall has been exemplary, treated at all times with dignity and respect.
Because of her rapid deterioration, she has been subject to several reports on safeguarding. The home has always informed us immediately
and taken appropriate action with our full support and approval. Despite changes in management, they have always maintained the same attention to detail and high quality of care and standards. As a retired senior manager from the NHS, I would have no Qualms in recommending Fleetwood Hall.

Mum has been in Fleetwood Hall now for 16 months and she has been really happy and content since moving in. The staff are marvellous in my opinion. I can only praise them in regards to my mum.
She is not very well at the moment and it is a big relief for me that she is being looked after. She is always
dressed nice, her hair done and also her nails are done regularly.
She really enjoys the food and has a good breakfast every morning, which I know she thoroughly enjoys. All I can say is it was the best thing that happened for all our family when my mum came to live at Fleetwood Hall.

The only criticism we have is there is not much communication between the management/staff and the residents family.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.701)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.701) out of 10 for Fleetwood Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.826 for Fleetwood Hall is calculated as follows: ( (168 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 190 Ratings = 4.826
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fleetwood Hall is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

With extensive experience in the care sector, my journey began as a Care Assistant when I was16 years old. Over the course of 17 years, I have gained invaluable experience working across various roles, including management positions in both large-scale and complex operations.

The role of Home Manager at Fleetwood Hall fills me with immense pride. As part of the Sandstone Care management team, I am thrilled to contribute to providing unparalleled care and support to our residents. It's a privilege to play a part in shaping services and assistance for our elderly community, ensuring they receive the quality of care we would all desire if faced with diminished independence. Witnessing the joy and laughter of our residents is truly the most rewarding aspect of my work.
