Weekly fees at Hillcroft are dependent on room choice. All bedrooms are en-suite with shower facilities available. We have a daily in house laundering service which is inclusive of price and our kitchen cater for all your needs. There is a Full English breakfast is available daily and a choice of nutritious meals throughout the day.


Hairdressing and Chiropody charges are separate, however are both reasonably priced.

I have looked around Lancashire for respite/residential over the last two years for my wife who sufferers from Dementia.
I have found Hillcroft is one the best for care and competitively priced.
The management and staff have been very professional in caring for my wife.
I have as a career for
the last seven year's been so reassured that my wife will be looked after in her later years at Hillcroft.

Since my sister was admitted to Hillcroft she has been cared for so wonderfully well. We have been so impressed by the levels of care provided to her and she is very happy there. The environment inside is fabulous, very inviting and homely. My sister loves the staff already and she has made lots of
friends so far with other residents living there. There is a bar open on a Friday afternoon so she can enjoy a beverage if she wishes and the activities in the home are fantastic. We were so worried about moving her into care but Hillcroft have demonstrated to us that we didn't have to. Overall very impressed and we couldn't have asked for more.

Despite his deteriorating condition, Dad seems very much calmer and happier. He smiles at the lovely carers in the horizon unit, which, to me, indicates he feels safe and secure. He is eating well too. We, as a family, are so grateful for Hillcroft and it's staff.

Outstanding caring home, clean, my mum is treated with dignity. Mum doesn't eat much, but the meals are very good. Mum is safe and secure, she has the best care. I give the care 100%, can not fault them. I would be lost without them.

The staff form meaningful, valuable relationships with the residents. This creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a genuine level of care. My mother has been made to feel safe, secure and has been given dignity and quality of life in the last stage of her life.

All staff are amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble. Food always looks very nice and is always hot. Staff are very friendly, kind, considerate and always go above and beyond for both residents and visitors. They help put your mind at ease.

I find that there is a lack of basic care and dignity and because of this, I have taken on the responsibility of doing all my mum's laundry as I was constantly finding her in other people's clothes even though all her clothes are clearly labelled. Because I do this it allows me to monitor how often
she is changed and to my dismay have found that she has had only one change of underwear in almost a week, this did result in an investigation with staff. The general cleanliness is poor, under her bed is filthy and there is almost no entertainment, very little in the way of activities.

Many thanks for your review. We are really sorry you feel that your mum has not received the care she deserves. We have looked into these concerns and have spoken to all staff concerned who advise that this is often due to a refusal to change into new clothes which they document onto our digital system. We would be happy to evidence this to you at a meeting at your convenience. We feel the general cleanliness of the home is good and we have invested heavily in new equipment such as carpet cleaners and new products. We do also have a resident of the day feature in which each bedroom receives a monthly deep clean in addition to daily cleaning. We have also invested heavily in the entertainment we provide our residents with entertainers visiting the home weekly. We would suggest that a Friday afternoon visit take place as this is when we open our Bar and have entertainment in the building. We have also invested heavily in an activity platform which holds 3,000 activity ideas.

My husband is extremely happy and well cared for in Hillcroft. The staff are professional and friendly in sometimes challenging situations. There is an excellent variety of stimulating entertainment. I cannot praise the staff enough, they greet me and treat me like family.

Hillcroft is a very happy home that makes my mum and our family very welcome. My mum settled very quickly because of the exceptional staff. My friend was here for a period of respite care. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, the management goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is cared for.
It honestly feels like a home from home, not clinical like some others in the area. My friend came on leaps and bounds whilst

Mum spent 7 months at Hillcroft and during her time there she was always treated with the utmost respect and kindness from the wonderful staff there. One of our family would visit Mum every day and she was always clean and well dressed. Any issues we had were dealt with promptly and the manager was
friendly and approachable. During her stay at Hillcroft, we knew Mum was safe and valued as a member of the Hillcroft family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hillcroft. Heartfelt thanks to the manager and his staff, they do a difficult job with grace and good humour.

The staff are pleasant and caring, communication with residents could be improved. My relative is always dressed well. On entering the home the smell of urine is strong. I get different/wrong answers when asking various staff about my relative. The food looks okay but it certainly isn’t personalised
to each resident.
My relative is not being given what they like to eat.

Thank you for your recent feedback. We pride ourselves on our first impressions at Hillcroft and have not received any negative feedback to date regarding mal-odour in the home. We will of course ensure that we further enhance this area of the foyer for everyone who enters the building.


Meal choices are provided to residents daily however if your relative has a special meal they like we will be more than happy to prepare this for them. We can also add this to our resident-of-the-day experience!


We have now also progressed to a new electronic system in the home. This should make it easier for staff to provide information to visitors when they arrive so you should see improvements in this area immediately.

Peter extends his caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to bring out the best in people and deliver care in a way that they gain the most benefit in a warm and welcoming home.
