My husband, who is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's, has been in Hulton for over five years. Hulton is a happy family home. The staff are second to none, kind, caring, competent and always with a welcoming smile. The food is very good and the home is spotless. The activities are very good and varied.
I cannot fault anything of anyone, and I would highly recommend Hulton to anyone considering a care home for their loved one.

Dad was adamant he didn't want to go into care, however it became impossible to support his needs at home and he was admitted into Hulton Care Home in August 2025.
In just a week, he has gone from not wanting to be there to really enjoying it. He hasn't complained about anything or asked to come home.
It is a great relief for us.
Before he was admitted, he used to beg me to stay later and later on my visits, now he practically kicks me out at teatime and waves me off. This tells me that he is living and enjoying his life again which is all I wanted for him.
The team at Hulton Care Home are very good with him and I am confident that his physical and mental needs are being met. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and they treat dad with the kindness, respect and dignity he deserves. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and the physical and mental workload I have been carrying for the last two years is now in the capable hands of the team at Hulton.

My mother came into Hulton Care just after Christmas. We didn't want Mum to be in a home, but we looked at a few care homes. Hulton Care seemed to be the best local for us.
It's now six months and Mum is settled, happy & content, she is very happy with all the staff and says that the food is excellent.

My mother is looked after so well. What a nice environment & lovely, pleasant staff. I do not get to see her very often as I live 3 hours away, but I know she is happy there. Also, they put their activities on social media & I am able to see what she is doing.
Thank you all so much.

Brilliant. Since mum came in, in January they have really looked after her. She has put on weight and eats better. The staff are so lovely from the cleaners to all the care staff. Fresh flowers on tables are lovely. She loves the milky coffee. They made her a lovely cake for her birthday. Mum being
here has given me and my brother our lives back. Thank you so much.

Mum has been in Hulton Care Home since June 2024. A 97-year-old lady with all her facilities. Her care has been of the highest quality and she really now feels totally at home.
Having her room recently decorated specifically to match her bedding etc, has been an added bonus.
Knowing she has the care
she needs 24 hours a day means everything.

I visit on a fairly regular basis and invariably find the home to be welcoming, relaxed and friendly environment. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and the residents all seem happy and well cared for. I am able to sit with my relative in a different area in the home, and join her at lunch
table if so requested. I have got to know the name of several residents and we enjoy a chat when I visit. There appear to be a wide range of activities and special events, such as Remembrance Day, Burns Night, Halloween etc. are all celebrated.

I popped into Hulton Care Home this morning with a card and chocolates for Christmas. It's almost two years since my mum was here but I still remember what they did for my mum and family during that time when she was here. It was so lovely to see those familiar faces and be welcomed in this morning,
even being given lunch!
Thank you Hulton staff for your continued care.

This was my first visit and was pleasantly surprised at the setting and overall ambience. The home was light and airy and fixtures and fittings in good condition. There was an absence of a urine smell. On our way out there was an activity ongoing, a quiz to the sound of Motown. I am impressed.

Visited one of my eldest friends today. I have to say what a beautiful home. My friend said to me, it’s just like being at home. Lovely staff and great activities all week. I would recommend this home to any of my family and friends. If I needed a home this would be top of the list.

From us looking around Hulton Care Home we knew we wanted my mother to go nowhere else. Such a wonderful care home with amazing staff and management. My mother loves all of them as they love her. Shes not been as happy in such a long time so it goes without saying the carers and everyone involved in
this home they are doing a wonderful job. Taking her out for days, something she's not been able to do in a long while is fantastic. The home, rooms, food, laundry service, cleanliness, and carers are all exceptional and would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you all.

My father was in respite at Hulton care, he went about 4 times a year, and now he’s a permanent resident, the people that look after my dad can’t do enough for him, he has freshly cooked meals for him everyday, and on the odd occasion they go out supermarkets to choose their own food.
There’s plenty
of entertainment and activities on throughout the week, barbecues if nice weather, even all the surrounding neighbours join in.
Was extremely hard when covid hit, but all the staff kept everyone safe and well, and I’m very greatful for all they did, was a long time not being able to see my dad face to face.
I would highly recommend Hulton Care, keep up the good work.

Hulton Care made my mum so welcome from the start, she loves it there. Residents are encouraged to treat it like home and nothing is too much trouble for them. All areas are homely, clean and bright. Daily activities include exercise, dance, singing, bingo, painting, baking, games and more. Parties
every couple of weeks with lovely decorations, games and even the odd tipple! Families are actively encouraged to visit, join in with parties bbq etc. All staff including management. carers, cleaner and especially the entertainer give 100% to provide excellent care support, safety, dignity and love to their residents. Well done!

When I was told my granny was going to a care home, I wasn’t very happy. You hear lots of bad stories about care homes and how they treat their residents. I have zero complaints about Hulton Care Home. They constantly have activities for them and are finding stuff for them to do. Bingo, painting, musicians
etc... They have a variety of animals for them to pet and look after and the staff are all lovely. Through the current pandemic, they have kept their residents safe and well. Keeping family members and friends up to date through social media. My granny is a very quiet lady who didn’t do much when she lived alone... now she has her nails painted and hair done, joins in with the activities and is always smiling. The house is always spotless too. Would highly recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.705)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.705) out of 10 for Hulton Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.905 for Hulton Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.905
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hulton Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
