My mother spent three weeks at Keer Sands as a post-operative respite stay. On departure, she said she will miss the staff, who are caring and attentive. During her stay she was delighted by the care given, and especially the high tech hoist bath. For myself, it was a relief to know she was in safe hands, and I was always able to contact the staff, who assisted with various extras (e.g. mobile phone difficulties!) Thanks to the entire team.
When my aunt had to move to residential care in September 2020 I was glad I knew about Keer Sands. Previously my mother-in-law had lived there and during that time l got to know the staff and home well. It is a small home with a welcoming, family atmosphere, comfortable and well appointed. The food is excellent, all home cooked and tempting. Any health issues are dealt with promptly. Communication with families is good with individual and general WhatsApp groups. These provide a window into the entertainment and activities in the home. This was really important during the pandemic when visits were impossible or limited. The staff are the most valuable asset of the home. They are a great team. They are professional, approachable, genuinely caring and treat residents with respect. They are the heart of the home. My aunt settled in quickly - she is comfortable, relaxed and happy. Her life has been enriched by moving to Keer Sands and I know she is in trusted, safe hands.
I am so thankful that we found a place at Keer Sands for my mother. It is a small residential home which is very well managed and maintained with small, comfortable rooms for the residents. It's main strength is the high quality of the staff who are very professional, caring and keen to ensure that residents are happy and comfortable. The communication with relatives is very good with general and personal WhatsApp groups and lots of help when arranging visits out for my mother. Hospital visits and other medical needs are taken care of and there is a lot of attention to detail with choosing clothes and ensuring that residents feel that they are at home rather than just in a home. The food is also good, home-cooked, well presented and tailored to the tastes of the residents. I know that my mother is happy there and I highly recommend Keer Sands.
My brother and I are very pleased with the care that Mum is receiving at Keer Sands. Probably the most important factor is that Mum is content and relaxed. The main positives we've noticed about all the staff is their kindness and professionalism. They treat her with respect and thoughtfulness and are proactive in ensuring that residents have activities that involve them all. Mum likes the small and homely atmosphere and the friendship and teamwork of the people that live and work there. Like many elderly people, our mother has a range of health issues and medications to treat them. Keer Sands are pro-active in spotting potential health issues early on and arranging medical support and intervention accordingly. They are anticipating problems rather than simply reacting to them once they've happened. Overall, we're extremely happy with Keer Sands because our mother is treated with respect and dignity and we are confident that staff have her best interests at heart.
Keer Sands has been my mother's home for the past 11 years or so now. From the day we went to view it for her to present-day I am in awe of all the carers there. Most of them are still there caring for the residents. This in itself is confirmation of a well run devoted team. Early this month, June 3rd, we thought we might lose mum she was so poorly. With all the love, care and compassion she rallied around. To the point that she went to the wonderful jubilee party they held at the home. All homemade food and cakes with wonderful bunting and decorations. Keer Sands is home from home with the benefits of a qualified team of carers who are like family. Clean, homely furnished, cosy, safe and I couldn’t ask for more. They all are part of our family and Mum and ourselves are privileged to be able to say that. They are angels, thank you Keer Sands thank you so much.
The owners and staff are amazing and dedicated to the care of the residents. During the pandemic, they ensured everyone’s safety, kept families fully informed and are still doing everything necessary. Not only do they provide excellent care but keep the residents involved with activities and celebrations such as the Platinum Jubilee which was second to none! They provide wonderful homemade meals and baking and create a very friendly relaxed atmosphere in the Home. They regularly ask the residents if they have any food requests. I honestly have no criticism to make of Keer Sands and cannot recommend them highly enough.
