Professional staff and very effective communication with family from
Carers / seniors and registered manger everyone at lumb valley providing an excellent quality of care supporting my Auntie.
When my Aunt was admitted to hospital the care staff were very informative and timely and my Aunt received medical attention promptly due to staffs quick response, and immediately informed the family/ next of kin.

Once my Aunt returned from hospital care staff ensured family she was ok and settled and gave reassurance

Lumb Valley home is highly recommended. My husband and I live in Canada and they keep us up-to-date regularly. If I have any concerns they always reply quickly. They have made the adjustment for my father-in-law quite effortless. We have visited him and quite enjoy the home. They play games, crafts and have lots of music artists to keep the residents entertained.

My wife's brother has been in Lumb Valley Care home for three and a half years.
He is well looked after, clean, tidy and well-fed.
He is comfortable and content, he enjoys most of the activities and participates.
Communication from the care home is good relative to any medical issues etc.
The activities are regular and allow relatives and friends to view photos and videos on social media.

Both my wife and I appreciate all that Lumb Valley management and staff do for my brother-in-law and all the residents and believe he is in an excellent home.

Dad was transferred from the hospital to Lumb Valley in October 2023. He had signs of agitation and the hospital advised he needed 1-2-1 care. When he went to Lumb Valley, this care was not provided and an incident occurred. From this time, the decision was that dad be moved to somewhere more suitable. I don't blame Lumb Valley for this, however, when dad reached his new care home, what a different experience! Where all the residents at Lumb Valley were sat in a living room looking at the television all day, dad was jiving and doing rock and roll at his new home! He had lost weight whilst at Lumb Valley and seemed depressed. I think the moral of the story here is that some care homes suit certain people more than others and it is important that authorities recognise this and try to take it into account when allocating. Easier said than done though I know! My conclusion is that Lumb Valley may suit certain people and their families and I'm not going to deride them, but not the best for dad.

I just wanted to take the time to say a huge thank you for all of the support and help that the team from the home have provided for both myself and mum. From parties to celebrations for residents to activities and pamper days. It was such a big change when mum had to move into a home and I was so nervous as I had to make that decision. I can honestly say I knew as soon as I spoke with everyone there that they did actually want to help mum from cooks to carers to the management all very professional and seemed to put my mind at rest and especially as the time came to an end for mum. They showed me and my family that this was the best place for her to finally give up her fight I will always be grateful to them all please don’t be afraid there are some lovely people still especially in Lumb Valley Care Home. Thank you to the Manager and her team.

I have found that the care they give my mum is very good. The staff are excellent, very accommodating. I feel my mum is in safe hands and there is no need for me to feel worried. The location for the care home is ideal for my mother as she is a local person and she went to school there.

Our relative has now been in Lumb Valley Care Home for 16 months. She has been very well looked after during this time, and her mental health has been the carers' priority. She is regularly assessed physically and mentally and her medication is adjusted accordingly. This information is given to us readily whenever we ask. When we telephone to speak to our relative, the staff are always very cheerful and helpful.

The carers have played an amazing part in keeping the residents in the home Covid free, many congratulations! Hopefully, we will be allowed a visit soon.

Our mother has been a resident for 10 months and in spite of her condition (Dementia) she has thrived. She still has character and is quite 'spirited'. She is still very small and her weight is about 5 stone 7lbs. She eats well and is encouraged to eat and has protein shakes etc. We are very pleased with the care she receives and the building has had some redecoration which is an improvement to their surroundings. It would be good if in better weather they could spend time outside.

Mum has dementia and ended up in hospital with a chest infection and seizures. Since she's been back at the home from not being able to feed, the staff pureed food and made her favourites. having to be hoisted - now walking with help from carers and smiling again. Overall great care.

Mum has lived at Lumb Valley Care Home nearly 3 years. She is very happy, settled and peaceful. Although she has Alzheimer's she seems to be happy, in a routine and trusts all of the staff. All I can say is that all of the care and staff are patient, kind and trustworthy. Staff are actually excellent, it' a happy atmosphere and home. Meals are homecooked by a wonderful cook and assistants. Always a choice and fresh. Staff often do activities and games, and all the residents seem happy. Mum is loved and part of a family I feel and that means a lot.

My dad has been about 4 different care homes in the last 2 years. I can’t believe how quickly he has settled at Lumb Valley, he is always clean, fed and happy when we go to see him. It’s very homely, his room is large and has a lovely outlook as well as his own WC. The staff are all lovely and treat us like family. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Lumb Valley to anyone!
