Staff work hard to get to know each resident, understanding their own individual tastes and needs to ensure residents feel consulted and involved with important decisions about the care they receive.
They absolutely refuse to use agency staff and existing members of staff have all been with the home for a long time. That plus the home’s relatively compact size means the staff and residents know each other very well indeed. This creates a genuine bond of friendship and trust that is very hard to achieve in a large home or when you are using agency staff, who are essentially strangers coming in to do what can be a very intimate job.
The nutritious homemade meals can be enjoyed in the social dining room or in a resident's own room if they prefer to dine privately. A choice of meals are always available and the personal tastes of residents are met by the home’s dedicated chef.

My grandma has been at Lumb Valley six months she is very happy here she always compliments the food saying each meal is delicious. The home is lovely and home improvements have recently been made, the place looks fab. Staff are friendly and will always go above and beyond.

My friend was very sceptical about moving into a care home due to living at home for many years. Since being at Lumb Valley I have noticed a significant change in my friend, she is extremely happy she looks fantastic her health has improved so much! She has made many friends at Lumb Valley. The staff are extremely friendly and make me feel very welcome always greeting me with a huge smile and a warm drink offering. The home is lovely and clean and has a real family feel and there is always something going on each day with a range of activities. It’s safe to say moving her here has made a real difference and her being at Lumb Valley has put all of our minds at ease. Thank you Lumb Valley!

This place is very professional, friendly staff, well looked after. Caring and passionate about what and how they look after their residents and their family. My grandma had been to a previous care home and did not settle, these guys were patient with her and she is now settled and smiling.

We are really glad we choose Lumb Valley Care Home. All the staff and manager; are second to none. Plenty of activities going on, the home is very homely and cosy. We are really pleased with our choice for our family member.

I came to visit an old friend of mine at Lumb Valley a couple of weeks ago, I found that the home was welcoming, it was not clinical or regimented but it actually felt like home. The residents were having fun with the staff, making jokes and generally, the atmosphere was great. I could tell that residents were looked after well I could smell fresh food being cooked. The staff were approachable and offered me tea when I arrived. I would recommend the care home.

Not enough words in my first review to express my delight and my wife's pleasure in choosing Lumb Valley Care Home for her mother. As I have said...It's a special place and the right size to give proper time and attention to all the residents. All the staff are able to find adequate levels to communicate to each of the resident's needs. My wife's mother is slowly putting weight on because she's being treated correctly at meal times and encouraged and helped to eat. The meals are in tune with residents preferences...which wasn't the case in hospital, where most food was wasted. There is occasional entertainment which the residents look forward too. I'd like to suggest that all the visitors who arrive for visits to the home ...are encouraged to engage a little on their arrival with all the other residents. Just a wave and a smiley hello would make a big difference to all the residents. The visits will stay with me for a long time. Thank you Staff.

On my first visit, I was surprised at the amount of equipment the home had to cope with various problems. This was of particular interest to me as my mother-in-law had to go into the home for a specific reason. When I saw the pressure pads in the bedrooms this made my mind up. From the first day, the staff have not been able to do enough for us. Nothing is too much trouble. We even had an invitation to Christmas dinner.
My friend has been in the care home since October 2018. Since arriving she has become really settled, the care and support she has received has been excellent, nothing appears to be too much trouble for the staff who are very friendly and caring. I would highly recommend this home.
