Feel comfortable about my mother staying here as her having to stay in a home was unexpected. The thing that make the care home are the staff who are fantastic and really care for people. The only downside is the size of the rooms but really satisfied with everything else.

My brother and I have been very impressed with my mum's care whilst being a resident at Milton Lodge care home. The staff are very friendly and treat my mum with respect and care that we have really appreciated in the short time she has been there. Mum seems very happy and we've seen a marked improvement
in her wellbeing. The nurses have told me how much they love Mum and that has been reciprocated in Mum's demeanour. I have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone in a similar position.
Reply from Phillipa Green, Compliance Manager at Milton Lodge Rest HomeThank you so much for leaving a review, we are glad you and your mum have had a positive experience at the home, it is nice for the team to hear they are doing well. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Mum moved to Milton Lodge in March 2020 so my experience of the home isn’t, as yet, extensive. Talking about care provision with Mum and my sister, we were drawn to Milton Lodge following discussions with home help and nursing personnel. We all wanted a homely, friendly place for Mum to live. Our families
knowledge of Milton Lodge as a previous maternity hospital and Mum having lived in Fleetwood all her life dovetailed nicely.
The management and staff have all been found to be kind, patient and caring, providing a very homely atmosphere. I have found the management to be calm, approachable, informative and professional.
The Covid situation has been challenging for everyone, especially care homes. I have been reassured by provisions put in place at Milton Lodge.
I believe Mum is in a good place, she seems content and regularly tells me of kind deeds by management and carers.
I’m sure there are smarter, newer cars homes, but care and a homely atmosphere are, I believe, most important.

I would recommend Milton Lodge very highly to anyone considering 24/7 care for their mum, granny or auntie.
It is a small facility, and ladies only. The whole feel of the home is just that... like a home, or a guest house. It doesn't feel like a "facility" at all. The staff are amazing, kind, compassionate
and caring. We always hear about the unsuitable or failing care homes, but rarely, if ever, hear about the really good ones, well this is one!
It is never an easy decision to have to make, but I have no problem at all recommending Milton Lodge.

I would highly recommend Milton Lodge to anyone having to consider care for a loved one. Mum had fabulous care whilst there and all the staff were respectful and caring. Unfortunately, Mum’s care needs have become more complex and she can no longer stay and Mum and the family are sad about this.
Many
thanks to all at Milton Lodge.

The home is very welcoming every time we visit. The staff are extremely helpful and caring and the rooms are furnished to a high standard. The staff put regular theme events on like Burns Night including a piper, singers and school children also visit.

In the short time my mum has been a resident at Milton Lodge, we have been really impressed with the friendly atmosphere. Not only my mum but also we, as her family, have been made very welcome. Every staff member we have met has been cheerful and this in turn makes for a lovely atmosphere. The cleanliness
of Milton Lodge is excellent - both in the communal areas and in the residents' rooms. Although we have not sampled the food ourselves, my mum is very happy with her meals. There have been several activities taking place from games of dominoes with other residents to entertainers coming in to sing. A visiting hairdresser is also an advantage as travelling to a hairdresser was proving difficult for my mum. We feel that we are able to leave my mum knowing that she will be safe and happy. Obviously, for us, this is very reassuring. We would not have any hesitation in recommending Milton Lodge to anyone.

I can't praise the home enough, they have been great with my Mum. It was very hard to say it was time for a care home but the staff are great with Mum and when we had concerns with a leg ulcer, they were on top of the problem getting outside people sorted very quickly (quicker than we could have done).
The only thing I would say is the bathrooms are a bit past it, not that it bothers the residents.

The staff are really kind to my mother and she can be quite challenging as her dementia is quite advanced. They prepare special meals for her and show a lot of patience.

The home has been beautifully decorated and has a flat screen TV for the patients. It is always very clean and well kept.

My mother was admitted to Milton Lodge Rest Home as an emergency and subsequently, the move was made permanent. She has always been very independent so this was hard for her emotionally as well as physically. Whilst her room is on the small side and there is no en-suite more important is the level of
care, respect and understanding shown by the staff and the high standard of the food. Nothing is too much trouble and staff take her for various appointments. I am always made to feel welcome as are other relatives and friends I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.

This care home is the most homely, friendly home I have ever been in, the staff are fantastic, very caring and attentive to all the residents, their well being is paramount.

Also I was very impressed with the entertainment that was put on, singers and bingo, dominoes and several social events. This

care home is amazing and I would have been happy for my mother to have been here.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.752)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.752) out of 10 for Milton Lodge Rest Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.877 for Milton Lodge Rest Home is calculated as follows: ( (160 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 179 Ratings = 4.877
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Milton Lodge Rest Home is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 21 registered maximum number of service users is 4.2, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
