I find this care home to be absolutely spotless, decor and flooring are amazing. The staff are wonderful. They treat residents with a lot of care and are very attentive. They treat family and friends likewise. Home from Home.

The staff are really kind to my mother and she can be quite challenging as her dementia is quite advanced. They prepare special meals for her and show a lot of patience.

The home has been beautifully decorated and has a flat screen TV for the patients. It is always very clean and well kept.

The staff are lovely and treat me like a friend as well as being kind to my mother.

My mother was admitted to Milton Lodge Rest Home as an emergency and subsequently, the move was made permanent. She has always been very independent so this was hard for her emotionally as well as physically. Whilst her room is on the small side and there is no en-suite more important is the level of care, respect and understanding shown by the staff and the high standard of the food. Nothing is too much trouble and staff take her for various appointments. I am always made to feel welcome as are other relatives and friends I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.

This care home is the most homely, friendly home I have ever been in, the staff are fantastic, very caring and attentive to all the residents, their well being is paramount.

Also I was very impressed with the entertainment that was put on, singers and bingo, dominoes and several social events. This care home is amazing and I would have been happy for my mother to have been here.

Food can be quite basic. My grandmother says, and cold sometimes when served.

Amazing staff and Nan loves them all.

Milton Lodge Rest Home is always clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful and will always discuss any problems you may have. Menus are varied and residents are given choices. Meals are cooked on sight so are always freshly prepared.

Residents clothes are washed and changed regularly. Residents are encouraged to take part in Bingo, Dominoes and sing-songs. Special occasions such as St Patrick's day are celebrated. Each resident is treated to a tea party with cake on their birthday. Residents are taken out in a wheelchair when the weather permits. There is also an outside space for them to enjoy warmer days. This place is home from home.

I have always found Milton Lodge Rest Home so welcoming and homely. I visit my grandmother a couple of times a week and it's comforting to see how nice the staff are and how they have taken time to get to know my nan. My grandmother has settled well and is very fond of the staff.

It's lovely that they can enjoy the gardens and my grandmother always enjoys the singer that comes in to see the ladies. I have always felt welcomed, along with my little girls who visit with me. Any worries my family have had, whether it be a call to the doctors, the staff have been nothing but helpful. A lovely place.

I am very happy with the care my mum is receiving at the care home. Staff are wonderful caring and very helpful.

The only negative I have is that mum is deteriorating and unfortunately is in a room on the top floor 'en-suite' but no view and she spends all day in her room. Its a shame she can't see out, but apart from that, I am very happy with everything else.

Reply from Pamela Mathauda, Owner at Milton Lodge Rest Home

Thank you for your comments. We always encourage your mum to come down to the main lounge areas of the home, which she has been doing more as her health has improved recently.

I have only a short time of experience visiting a relative in Milton Lodge. I find the staff extremely caring, kind and helpful. Food provided to the residents is varied and well cooked. The staff are very kind to visitors to the to the home providing cups of tea/sherry. There is a variety of activities eg., bingo, dominoes, singers visiting, residents birthdays are celebrated with songs etc. Bunting is already in place inside and outside to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

A lovely, caring home. Small and very homely. I don't have any concerns at all about Mum being here as she is safe and well looked after as she is unable to live alone any longer. She is into her 2nd year here now.

Overall Experience

Mum has been in Milton Lodge for 3yrs and it was the best decision we made concerning her care.Mum's Alzheimer's has slowly but consistently worsened, but her care has been excellent. She is always treated with understanding and great care is taken to protect her and other resident's dignity, no matter what the circumstances. The home is not purpose built and some of the rooms are shared or small, but it makes up for this by being a home from home and recent redecoration and improvements have made it even better. As mentioned we can visit at any time and are always made welcome by all the staff. The fact that the staff haven't changed in the time my mum has been there is a bonus. I consider them all friends which makes visiting an Alzheimer's suffer so much easier. If you want somewhere that is purpose built and modern Milton Lodge is not for you, but, if you want a home from home where residents are treated with patience, understanding and dignity in their final years then this is the place.

My sister has been cared for in the above home for nearly three years. She is well cared for in all aspects of care. Whenever I call to see her or what time, the staff are always pleasant and friendly. They inform me if my sister has been unwell or unsettled, which varies from day to day. My sister has Alzheimer's but always tells me or her family she gets wonderful meals and is always lovely and clean. The home itself is very clean but also very homely. Credit to all the staff who show patience and understanding to people who are confused and don't understand what's happening.

The staff and management at Milton Lodge are excellent. When you walk into Milton Lodge it feels like a big happy family home and not a care home. I am very happy that we found Milton Lodge for my mother-in-law. It is the best.

I have to say my stay at Milton Lodge Rest Home has been very pleasant. The staff can't do enough to please you, as some residents are very hard to please. We have bingo, dominoes, sing along, visitors are made very welcome with tea and biscuits.
