My dad was a resident in the care home from September 25 till March 26, when he sadly died. Unfortunately apart from a handful of carers who were fantastic I found this home sadly lacking in care needs, management seemed more concerned about targets than actual individuals, as a family we felt we had to visit on a daily basis to ensure dad's care needs were met, he was found wondering without support on many occasion, and once left distressed and soiled while being ignored by staff, dad sadly passed away after a stroke in March and the carers in his last week were amazing, coming in on days off to check on us all, but in that week we saw the real pressures they were under trying to care for everyone with limited staff. Several of the staff came to dads funeral and were most welcome, the management team however didn't even find time or have the courtesy to send a condolence message, I think that says everything

Mum went into Penwortham Lodge in August 2021. Right from the start she was made to feel comfortable and happy. The range of entertainment is extremely good and, despite some recent staffing issues, Mum was happy and well cared for.
Unfortunately at the age of 104, Mum passed away yesterday and the reaction from the staff was amazing.
I am so grateful that I was able to place Mum in this home and would highly recommend it.

Thank you for looking after the daft old bat.

The staff have been incredible with helping my mum and making her feel at home. The home manager has made a great effort with assisting my mum to wash and care for herself. Something that she has been incapable of doing herself. The family are happy and content knowing that Mum is safe and being well looked after. A massive thank you to the home manager and the team.

Grandma enjoys all the activities available at the home. She used to take part in many pre-COVID. Gran enjoys the choice of food available at the home. I am very happy with the care that Grandma receives at the home. We are glad that she is safe.

The first impression from entering the site is one of a well-maintained building, once inside the decor is modern and fresh looking without any odours present. I visit three to four times a week and the standards never drop. The same with the care staff, they are all true professionals, patient, caring and always doing their best for the residents. The food looks delicious and the entertainment I've seen appears to be well thought through and varied. To sum up, if I'm fortunate to reach the same age as the residents, I would be delighted to end up in a care facility as excellent as this!

We have always been happy with the care given to my mum at Penwortham Grange. Since the new management has taken over, staffing consistency has improved meaning my mum has felt more settled with the same familiar faces. The activity staff do a fantastic job with the residents enjoying a variety of activities, along with external outings. Communication from the staff is great and nothing is too much trouble. Mum always compliments the food and feels happy and safe with the staff.

Friendly atmosphere, Mum has settled in, seeing her regularly doesn't give me any concerns since the appointment of a new manager. The staff change has been noticed and one member of staff in particular has and always goes the extra mile with families and residents. She always puts my mind at ease, as a team leader is dedicated to her job.

Mum has been a resident now for 3 years. There has been a huge improvement in the management of the home following the recent appointment of a new manager and unit manager, nothing is too much trouble to ensure that Mum's needs are met. I am always made welcome and communications/updates have been excellent. The rooms are bright and airy, well maintained with ensuites. The cleaning and laundry staff are all so cheery and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Penwotham Grange. We are very appreciative of the safe and caring environment Penwortham Grange offers.
