I visit my dear friend on a regular basis at Burntwood Hall Care Centre. I must admit I was very worried about my friend going into a care home but I need not have worried at all. The care my friend receives is second to none by the kind and caring management and staff. The home is beautifully clean
and free from any smell. There is always some kind of activities to entertain the residents and families are encouraged to join in. I believe my friend's health would not be as good if she were at home. Thank you to the manager and her staff.

The staff are all very approachable and friendly. They have always treated my mum with the utmost respect and speak to all residents in a polite, kind manner. The home has a very relaxed and homely atmosphere and has the feel of a country residence rather than the clinical feel of some homes. The meals
provided are of a good standard with plenty of choices to cater to any dietary requirements. I have no hesitation in recommending this home.

Mum has been going to Burntwood Hall for a few years now (after taking respite in other homes not fit for purpose).

I have peace of mind always that she is happy and well looked after whilst she is in their care. There is never any smell of urine which has greeted us many times in other establishments

and the staff are always so lovely and attentive. Beautiful building and surroundings. Keep up the good work.

My friend is a resident of Burntwood Hall Care Home. I am extremely delighted with the standards of care she receives. She has improved massively in mobility, health and weight gain. She is treated with the utmost dignity at all times, nothing is too much trouble for management and the staff have her
best interests at heart at all times.
All care services have been provided in her ongoing treatment. This is a very friendly home and residents and visitors enjoy all the entertainment and activities provided. I am happy to leave my friend in their most capable hands. Food and rooms are excellent.

My mum has just gone to stay at Burntwood Hall following a series of falls. The manager and staff have been very kind and understanding, and are helping Mum through this transition period. They have also been very helpful to myself and the rest of my family through an emotional time. Thank you - we
really appreciate your care.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.432)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.432) out of 10 for Burntwood Hall Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.632 for Burntwood Hall Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.632
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Burntwood Hall Care Centre is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
