Overall a brilliant stay - staff very welcoming, friendly - excellent food and top-notch cleanliness - laundered clothing to a high standard. The overall atmosphere was pleasant, inviting, facilities available, home from home. Would highly recommend this home. Thank you for making this stay special.

All the staff are hard-working, kind and knowledgeable. The centre could do with updating i.e. some money spending on IT. I still have problems with my mum coming out with someone else's clothes on despite all her clothing having her name sewed inside. Overall, the staff do a brilliant job under the
circumstances.

We have always found the staff to be good with Mum, the room she is in is basic but comfortable. Mum is always clean and well dressed. The current epidemic makes visiting difficult, but there is a pod provided and currently, I can visit one on one with the appropriate PPE.

I would be happy caring for my wife at home but she is being well cared for in a local care home. Having battled the virus and recovered she was well looked after by the staff who I admire, especially in these very difficult times and the extra work this pandemic has caused, yet the manager and staff
remain cheerful and polite, which is great.

Thank you for the pod and being able to see my brother, and a big thank you for looking after him when he came out of hospital and getting him back walking again.
A big thank you to all the staff and carers at Cherry Trees Care Home and for making me and my sister welcome when we've been to the care
home to see my brother.

Both of my parents were admitted to Cherry Trees in March 2020 and within one week the country went into lockdown as a result of the coronavirus. I was obviously, therefore, unable to visit my parents and felt like I had abandoned them. I had no cause to worry though as the staff really looked after
them and in the summer we were able to visit them once a week in the care home gardens. Both of them said they were being well looked after and that the meals were excellent. As the weather worsened we were unable to see them in the garden but the staff have been excellent and phoned me whenever there was something which they felt I should be aware of. The home have now created a "pod" so that my parents can be visited again albeit we are separated by a glass partition.

Cherry Trees and their manager and carers are amazing. I cannot thank them enough. They have gone the extra mile, not only to take care of Mum but also to make sure I am ok also. Words can not describe the horrors of 2020 but I have felt blessed that mum has had brilliant care.

I am full of admiration for the staff at Cherry Trees. The building could do with a refurb but overall the standard is good. The staff are amazing - office staff, carers and cleaners try their utmost for the residents and also the families. My mum is content and happy and that's all that matters to
us as a family because we know that she is well cared for.

My mum has been in Cherry Trees for 2 years. I am able to visit her as often as I wish and the staff are always kind and very thoughtful. During COVID we haven't been able to see her, except through the window, but the home manager always calls us with an update and has helped to make sure we get to
see our mum whenever we have asked.
She is very happy and content, she was very agitated and bored at home, which meant that with her dementia, she got confused. As soon as she moved in, we all saw a huge improvement.
I can't recommend the care and kindness any higher. They have been amazing and patient and given my mum extra years, that she might not have had if we'd tried to keep her at home.

Mum has been a resident at Cherry Trees for 12 years now so that speaks for itself! She is so well cared for by all the staff that we can rest easy knowing that she is safe. The food, decor, laundry service and activities are second to none.
When Mum first moved in, she was more able to participate
in the activities and outings which meant we had to check was she available for us to visit.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff to do for residents. Each one is treated with dignity and respect at all times.

My father has been residing at Cherry Trees since November 2019. Management and staff are like a family to both him and our family. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Staff contact us straight away with anything that may be concerning them about dad no matter how big or small. Nothing is too much
trouble for them. The home itself is too a high standard. Meals are varied not the same week in week out. The staff keep the residents very well entertained.
The home respects our family's decisions. We wouldn't want my father to spend whatever time he has left in his life at any other Care Home.

My father has been a resident at Cherry Trees Nursing Home for approximately 13 months.
During his stay we have found the care home to be of a very high standard, cleanliness and decor of the building is excellent. The staff are very friendly, caring and nothing is too much trouble, even though many
times they are short staffed. The resident chef is very good, providing a varied diet to meet all dietary requirements.

My grandfather spent the last few months of his very long life (he was 96 when he passed) in Cherry Trees Care Home. We always found the staff to be friendly and helpful and regularly went above and beyond expectations. The family could visit when it was convenient for us and as often as we liked. Grandad
was always comfortable and was cared for in the best possible way.

My father had to go into a care home because my sister, who had looked after him for years, became too ill herself to look after him. Initially, we chose Cherry Trees because it was convenient and offered value for money. As time went on, my father's existing medical conditions took their toll and,
at the grand old age of 96, he entered the last phase of life. We could not have wished for kinder people to look after him at a very difficult time. All the staff were professional, considerate and genuinely caring. Nothing was too much trouble to help make him comfortable and feel at peace.

Cherry Trees Care Home staff provided everything our old dad needed until he passed away peacefully. The carers were all very kind, nothing was too much trouble for them. They treated him just as his own family did, meeting his needs day and night. We are confident that this care home is first class
in providing peace of mind for relatives when dad's such as ours needed 24-hour care. I cannot express how grateful I am for all the concern showed towards us all when visiting him.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.535)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.535) out of 10 for Blossom Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.754 for Blossom Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 57 Ratings = 4.754
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.781 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blossom Lodge is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 89 registered maximum number of service users is 17.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.8 = 0.281
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
