Cottingham Hall always has a calm, welcoming friendly atmosphere and is a pleasure to visit. The staff are always very caring and attentive, and nothing is too much trouble as they help Mum to settle in and feel valued. Mum has a clean, modern room with ensuite facilities and very quickly felt at home there. She is starting to take part in the many activities on offer and has made some new friends. I am so glad that we chose Cottingham Hall to care for Mum when she was no longer able to look after herself and am sure she will continue to be happy here.

Generally good support and efficient communication however recently it has taken longer for the home to relay some minor issues.

My wife has been in 4 care homes since July 2024, she had to be moved for various reasons. But I can say categorically that Blossom Lodge is the cleanest & the care has been streets ahead of the others, and more to the point my wife is more comfortable there than any of the other homes. A calming place for her.

Do not allow your loved one to be in this facility! My Mum has had money stolen out of her room, parcels opened by staff members (which I have checked is illegal) and has had a man sat on her bed trying to undo her boots that she wears due to a physical disability. After questioning her safety, staff have told me that this cannot be stopped as their staff are busy. Most staff in general are lovely, but not enough of them to deal with all of the residents needs. When mum presses her buzzer she can be waiting a while before anyone attends to her. Which is a worry. The facility itself has had a mattress and equipment left in the car park for months now. Currently working with social care to get her out.

Friendly hard working willing to listen and help, home old bit rundown needs re vamp and may need more staff but staff very helpful and always rush of feet to accommodate everyone needs, i would choose this home over any other as know always do best of there abilities and beyond

My mam is happily settled in this home the staff and manager are very friendly and approachable and go above and beyond to help enrich the lives of the people receiving care my mam was very frail and underweight on entering the home and is now a good weight and living her best life, she sees the staff as family and she knows she can ask for anything at anytime

The care home has caring, understanding staff. The staff at The Elms treat the residents with care, dignity & respect. Always with a smile. There is a warm atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum is very happy and that is what is important to us.

Fantastic care given to my aunt Norma. The food is excellent. She is more than satisfied with The Elms Care Home. Excellent in every aspect.

Mam has been well treated + looked after by the staff even when mam was taken ill, the staff responded quickly, a first rate service. Mam has put on weight and enjoys her meals + company. The care home keep my family up to date with all activities and mams welfare. We have no issues at all + no complaints well done to everyone + thank you.

Carers are really good with my dad and he is well cared for the room is lovely and the staff love him and his character, he wants for nothing in Sycamore House.

We absolutely love everyone and everything in Sycamore House, the residents are all treated with care and respect and are looked after properly. Nothing to complain about, food, care, love is always great.

I have been hear several weeks all the staff are very caring and very helpful if I have a problem there only to happy to help. I have a storma can only eat certain foods they cater to my need they are excellent.

Auntie arrived at Blossom Lodge from hospital on a D2A basis and stayed on a permanent basis for a further two years before sadly passing away in her sleep at 96 years old. The care home staff have all been exceptional from day one, making Auntie feel welcome and always treating her with respect and dignity at all times. We would like to share our gratitude and thanks to everyone involved, your kindness will be forever remembered.

Since my mum moved into the home, the change in her has been really positive. She seems to have more interest in life. At times it is like having my old mum back. Her anxiety is not as bad as when living on her own. The home has a nice feel to it. The team of carers really do care about the residents. Having the residents' best interests at heart. Both professional people visitng mum, along with family & friends have all passed comment on how impressed they are with the home. Mum seemed to have settled in better than I thought she would. I have peace of mind now knowing she is safe and well cared for.

As a family we are more than happy with every aspect of the home, any issues we have, or requests are seen to in a prompt manner. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It's very reassuring to jnow mum is well looked after and made to feel special and wanted.

When mum needed full time care, I reached out to my friends for recommendations as many of their parents had experience of being in a residential care home. Having only had experience of one other care home, I felt there must be somewhere better out there. 'The Elms' was highly recommended by two of my friends who's parents had lived at 'The Elms'. I arranged a visit and as soon as I walked in, I knew this was the place mum could be happy + safe. It feels like home. All staff are friendly, knowledgeable and maintain excellent relationships with the residents. The manager is approachable and its evident she wants whats best for those in her care.

Overall the quality of care is consistently good and appropriate to the needs of individual residents. The staff are friendly and interact with residents and visitors.

It would be helpful to have an organisation chart on display in reception with staff photos and information about their roles and responsibilities. It can be difficult to establish who to approach about issues.

It would also be helpful to have more information about activities etc, we often miss these as there has been no prior notification.

Whilst accepting the need for vigilance and security to protect the security and safety of the residents it can be difficult for visitors to access and egress the premises, perhaps this could be reviewed.

It might be helpful to consider provision of a 'surgery' style meeting at regular intervals where relatives would have an opportunity to raise any concerns/issues
