Since my mum moved into the home, the change in her has been really positive. She seems to have more interest in life. At times it is like having my old mum back. Her anxiety is not as bad as when living on her own. The home has a nice feel to it. The team of carers really do care about the residents.
Having the residents' best interests at heart. Both professional people visitng mum, along with family & friends have all passed comment on how impressed they are with the home. Mum seemed to have settled in better than I thought she would. I have peace of mind now knowing she is safe and well cared for.

When mum needed full time care, I reached out to my friends for recommendations as many of their parents had experience of being in a residential care home. Having only had experience of one other care home, I felt there must be somewhere better out there. 'The Elms' was highly recommended by two of
my friends who's parents had lived at 'The Elms'. I arranged a visit and as soon as I walked in, I knew this was the place mum could be happy + safe. It feels like home. All staff are friendly, knowledgeable and maintain excellent relationships with the residents. The manager is approachable and its evident she wants whats best for those in her care.

Overall the quality of care is consistently good and appropriate to the needs of individual residents. The staff are friendly and interact with residents and visitors.
It would be helpful to have an organisation chart on display in reception with staff photos and information about their roles and
responsibilities. It can be difficult to establish who to approach about issues.
It would also be helpful to have more information about activities etc, we often miss these as there has been no prior notification.
Whilst accepting the need for vigilance and security to protect the security and safety of the residents it can be difficult for visitors to access and egress the premises, perhaps this could be reviewed.
It might be helpful to consider provision of a 'surgery' style meeting at regular intervals where relatives would have an opportunity to raise any concerns/issues

My mum has been a resident of The Elms care home since Feb 2025 and has quickly settled in with the help and support of the staff, and now considers it her permanent home. Mum feels safe, supported and comfortable in the home, and has a good relationship with the staff and residents. She participates
in most of the arranged activities and especially enjoys a sing along + she also enjoys the occasional outing arranged by the team. The staff are always on hand to answer queries or resolve issues and we appreciate the help and support they give to mum on a daily basis.

My mum has lived in The Elms care home for nearly two years and I couldn't wish for a better one. The carers are wonderful in every aspect, they actually care, I couldn't ask for more. The choice of food is excellent with all clients catered for. The home also provides the residents with lots of entertainment,
catering for lots of different needs. I firmly believe my mum has a better life because of all the care at The Elms.

My father is very settled in Hebburn Court. He has been a resident since Jan 2021. He is well looked after by the staff, with him being in the home for so long, they treat him like family. Now that he is non-mobile, he is no trouble! I would recommend this home for any family looking for care for a

I love coming to visit Val, because this is her home, and a lovely home it is. We are both so happy here. Val is always smiling and laughing. That just shows how content she is,
which is all down to the lovely care she is getting.
Thank you to everyone.

The staff always ensure my grans care needs are met. Every time I visit, Gran is always clean and presentable. Care staff cannot do enough to support not only my gran but also her visiting family. We visited for her 90th birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure she had the best day.
The care staff deserve a big appreciation bonus to thank them for all they do for their residents.

Pauline has multiple serious health problems and is very fragile. She is a very chatty and sociable person and when her health allows, she loves to chat with staff and this is a considerable aid to her comfort and wellbeing. The staff at the Elms Care Home actually care for Pauline and have supported
her through many times when she has been upset or very poorly. They bend over backwards to help and Pauline now has developed key friendships with many of the staff. As someone who always feels ill, her habits tend to more nocturnal, and feeling ill, she doesn't always feel hungry. The staff continually go the extra mile for Pauline and she feels secure and 'at home' there, thanks to Jenny, Chelsea and all the staff's efforts to support here. They are there for her, and this is the first time I've felt this level of support from a home, which is a huge assurance to me that if I have to leave the country with work, I know she is in very safe hands thanks to the care and dedication shown.

Dad was sent from hospital to Blossom Lodge on a D2A bed, so we hadn't chosen it and were not sure how it would be. Dad was quite frail with late-stage dementia. The staff were lovely and really good care of dad so well during the 2 1/2 weeks he was here. Every time we visited dad looked so clean and
comfortable with his favourite music on. There was always a member of staff popping in to see how we were doing and to provide some care. Sadly, dad died after 2 1/2 weeks here the we couldn't really have asked for more support for dad, mum and the whole family. Thank you.
