Cherry Trees enjoys an elevated position and overlooks the Dearne Valley Park and is close to Barnsley. There are shops and other amenities within easy reach, including public transport and the M1.

Dad was sent from hospital to Blossom Lodge on a D2A bed, so we hadn't chosen it and were not sure how it would be. Dad was quite frail with late-stage dementia. The staff were lovely and really good care of dad so well during the 2 1/2 weeks he was here. Every time we visited dad looked so clean and
comfortable with his favourite music on. There was always a member of staff popping in to see how we were doing and to provide some care. Sadly, dad died after 2 1/2 weeks here the we couldn't really have asked for more support for dad, mum and the whole family. Thank you.

My Dad has lived here for last last 4 years.
Sadly his health declined a couple of weeks back and he was discharged back to Blossom Lodge for end-of-life care. The care he has recieved these last 2 weeks has been exceptional. He has been treated with dignity and respect and kept comfortable. The staff
genuinely care and more than one carer has shed a tear with me this week and been there not only for Dad but the family as a whole.
It's the small things that make a big difference. One carer gave him her own bottle of flavoured water to do his mouthcare so he could taste something nice. To say he hadn't taken anything orally for 3 weeks his mouth was moist and in great condition so clearly oral care was done regularly and properly. The lights were turned low and gentle background music played, fans provided and regular check-ins by staff created a peaceful, comfortable environment for his last days.
Thank you everyone, your kindness will forever be remembered.

I would just like to thank every member of staff at Cherry Trees for their care, compassion and dignity shown to my Dad at all times during his short stay there. Nothing was too much trouble, Dad was always in clean clothes and clean bedding and I appreciate this was not always easy due to his illness.
Every member of staff was always kind and pleasant, he was never left alone when it mattered and I will always be forever grateful to Senior Nurse for being with us at the very end, you made a heartbreaking moment in time a little more bearable, I felt reassured by you being there. A safe, compassionate, caring and dignified place for any loved one to be. Thank you all again.

My husband has been here for two weeks and seems to have settled in. He was in hospital for three weeks before and didn't like it. Staff are very friendly and always ready to help. My dad was dropped without much warning on the care home by our local hospital, with little or no advice from them, but the staff made sure he was in a large corner room with en suite, TV and a comfy armchair. Dad was difficult to work with at the time, but they did all they could to make him comfortable
and my mum's visits welcoming. The management were helpful and worked with us and adult service to fill the void left by the hospital's mismanagement for the three weeks he was there, meaning that when Dad eventually came home, he was more settled than he had been for weeks.

When I was told I was being sent to a care home I was horrified. Five days into my stay at Cherry Trees Care Home, I have had a complete change of heart.
If all care homes are like Cherry Trees it would be superb. It is very well run and the staff are brilliant.
