Orchard Views is a family-run care home located close to Barnsley Hospital and just a short distance from the town centre. With 28 years of experience, the home prides itself on delivering quality care in a warm, welcoming and happy environment.

Orchard Views caters to a range of needs, offering day care, respite (short-term) and long-term stays, ensuring that each resident receives personalised care tailored to their individual requirements.

I had a bad experience before I arrived at Orchard View, but I feel safe and secure now. I am happy, and the carers are my friends. The food is very good, because I used to have it blended, but now I can eat normally because I have what I ask for. I have been here 3 1/2 years and I enjoy being here,
and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Heating problems. Difficulty controlling a comfortable temperature. Helpful pleasant staff. Ensuite bath/wc would be good.

1) When staff come to see to my needs they are always cheerful. 2) Because I am unable to get out of bed I am not able to join in any activities. However, my partner comes every day and we chat and he keeps me up to date. He also reads to me each day.
3) Overall I have no complaints regarding my care.

I have been a resident at Orchard Views Care Home for just over 3 years. The management and staff have always been kind and helpful. Any problems that have always been solved promptly and efficiently. Cleanliness has always been important at Orchard Views. The rooms and other areas are cleaned every
day. The meals are prepared to a high standard and are always varied. Overall my stay at Orchard Views has been and still is very enjoyable.

The care home has gone through a turbulent period over the last few months but they now have people in place who care for the residents and are proactively working to make it a better place to be. The atmosphere is much better over recent weeks.

The staff are always friendly and helpful and always do all they can to help but they always seem to be understaffed with agency staff being used. They also seem to struggle to keep a manager for any length of time. Maybe the staffing levels are causing morale problems.

We moved my father-in-law here only a month ago and I have to say the staff are amazing. He has been made to feel at home straight away. He has fitted in and likes to sit outside. It means here is nearer to us and that is lovely. He says the food is fantastic.

I have worked in care since 2016. I began as a carer and soon developed a passion for the role. Having a strong work ethic and dedication I developed my skills and quickly rose through the hierarchy to management level.
It is an honour to care for people and provide a high quality service.
I am now the manager of Orchard Views and it is a privilege to be part of this community.
I am very proud to have a team that is as passionate as myself in delivering high quality care.
I hold a Psychology BSc (Hons) from the University of Leeds and before entering care I worked at the Academic Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Leeds General Infirmary. I conducted several research projects which had a focus on falls prevention in older adults and I am very proud that two of those projects were published.
This previous role provided me with knowledge and skills that incorporate well into the role of a care manager.
