Overall Experience

A previous issue was caused by a change in management and reflected the fact that communication with relatives was non-existent. Recent changes have been made, and those who were proving difficult to work with are no longer there! I was invited into the care home by the current manager. I visited today and I felt comfortable discussing previous issues with the manager, she listened and we both agree things in the past should have been handled differently. Visits are now taking place in a well-designed visiting pod. My gran has always been complimentary of staff who look after her very well, she's very keen on the food, stating the chef is great! She loves her cooked breakfast. Following the recent management change, I would have no hesitation recommending this care home to anyone. Thank you to the new manager and the team.

Overall Experience

My two elderly aunts resided at Royal Court from January 2020. The care was excellent, even when covid hit in March I still saw them through closed windows but this reassured me that they were happy and well cared for. The pandemic hit everyone hard and more so the elderly in care homes. We understood the safety of staff and residents was the priority. I totally appreciated the decisions made. I know the home is currently under new ownership and in the process of refurbishment and I know the home and staff make it possible for video calls to the residents. The care has always been outstanding all residents are offered the chance to join in at cards, domino's and looking at old family photos. All staff are dedicated to their work and it shows. I wouldn't hesitate at my decision, if I had to make it again I would choose Royal Court.

Overall Experience

This care home over the COVID period has been extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. At the start, there were limited visits through open windows which is completely adequate due to the circumstances, however a pod to see residents was promised 6 months ago and has never been delivered. Now visits have been completely stopped even through an open window and we the family have no way to contact our relatives at all for the next 3 months, there is no Facetime or Skype call options and this is against the government guidelines for a care facility and in my opinion, is frankly immoral to rob family's of any precious time they could share with older relatives especially given the circumstances. The staff have been less than helpful and in some cases extremely difficult and not understanding about issues we raised, please do not send your relatives here as their CGC rating suggests they are completely inadequate at their jobs.

Reply from Lynn Fearn, Managing Director at Royal Court Care Home
We are sorry that your experience of the service has not met your expectations.

To ensure that we keep our residents and staff safe we have taken steps to reduce footfall into Royal Court. We appreciate that the restrictions on visiting are frustrating, they are, however, a vital part of our...
