My mother has been in Chapel Garth for 6 years. We have had our ups and downs as can be expected, but on the whole, mum has been happy there. The entertainment staff are wonderful. I have always found the staff to be approachable and the manager has always been sympathetic and helpful.

As my wife has only recently become a resident of the above care home it is difficult to make comments! I can say this, however, what I have seen so far on my daily visit to my wife - is compassion - kindness - caring - consideration from all members of staff who have a most difficult job to do!

Care staff take wheelchair-bound residents to local shops and area to give them a change of scenery.
Security of Chapel Garth is good, rooms locked when not occupied, the main door secure. Garden area supervised when residents use it. Frequent tea and treats for residents throughout the day. Television sound turned down but subtitles on, films benefit all residents.

A quiet area by the main door and corner of the main area benefits visitors talking to their resident relatives/friends. Care staff on hand to assist residents mobility at all times.

New flooring in the lounge a vast improvement to old carpet making area safer for residents. Easier to keep clean for staff. Furniture in lounge good quality easy to keep clean, seating always available for visitors in both main lounge and quiet area towards the garden. Entertainment during the afternoon and visited, very good with plenty of reaction from residents. Care staff always on hand to assist and comfort residents when required. Although residents are a mix of active and needing assistance in mobility all are treated well.

From our first visit, my husband and I were impressed by both the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness. My sister was quite ill when admitted, although her brain was very sharp. On three occasions, she had ti visit the hospital but at all times, she was treated by staff with kindness and dignity.
The manager runs a first class establishment and her staff helped us through the last difficult months of my sister's life.

I am very grateful to them all.

When we visit, the staff are very welcoming and my lifelong friend is always telling me how good they are to her. They always offer us tea or coffee and cheer my friend up when we have to leave her. It feels good to know she is looked after and safe.

A very friendly, homely feeling about the lounge and dining areas. Staff appear very caring and keep me well informed of any illness or incidents out of the ordinary affecting my sister who always seems happy and content when I visit. The home provides daily activities and regular visiting entertainers for the residents.

Having to place someone you love and have respected all your life into a care home is heartbreaking. So having chosen the right care home for them is essential. Right from the very first visit, we felt this was the place for Dad who was suffering from Dementia. The care they gave him was very good they also had meetings and gave us the family updates and were very supportive. My Dad has now sadly passed away we can't thank Chapel Garth staff enough they do an amazing job. Thank you.

Having visited this care home on several occasions without notice we were very impressed and decided to leave our Aunt for two weeks respite. The manager is magic and this flows throughout the home to the staff.

The care my father received over ten years was of a first class standard and the staff always showed great care and attention to him. The home was kept clean and well maintained at all times and the meals were always changing to add variety and stimulus. There were many activities going on all year and trips out for the able few were regular. My dad passed away at the end of April this year and the staff could not have been more supportive of my family. A first class care home which I would recommend to anyone, no problem at all.
