Cotleigh has a Review Score of 9.6 (9.621) out of 10, based on 19 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Cotleigh has 62 reviews.
Cotleigh has been on a decline for a couple of years, and the new manager seems intent on making things worse. She has lied to our face repeatedly about the level of care my father was receiving. They fired the guy in charge of arranging activities, so residents have little to do. Conversely? On the record breaking hottest day of the year they thought an OUTDOOR singer was a good idea! Residents don't have real autonomy, with mealtime seating being assigned and inflexible (at least on my father's wing, I hear it is not always like this), even when another resident poses a danger, which one of them consistently does, having physically harmed multiple other residents. Chronically understaffed, and agency staff are not good enough, often unable or unwilling to basic tasks. The core staff themselves are generally friendly and caring, but stretched far too thin, especially at night. Lastly the quality of food is abysmal, and they are unable to correctly provide for dietary requirements.
We are pleased that you have recognised the kindness and dedication of our care team, however, we fully appreciate that this does not...
Nutrition and hydration monitoring very evident, as well as personal cares.
The home overall is v clean only smell is when meals are being had that look lovely.
Asaha and team are fabulous. Thank you. From Michelle and family.
Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased to hear that you have had such a positive experience at Cotleigh. Providing person centred care, while maintaining dignity, respect and individual choice, is at the heart of what we do, so it is wonderful to know this has been reflected in your...
Cotleigh is not the same care home as it used to be. They think that by swopping the carers around that this is the best thing to do. Dementia patients require familiarity and not someone different everyday. You can see the difference in the residents due to this. Same for end of life care you need experienced carers not anyone who they just send to cover. I would have recommended this Care Home probably about a year ago but not now.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I will make sure your comments are passed on to our Management and Quality Team for review.
Previous to my mother being accepted to Cotleigh, I visited many residential settings. I was shocked and upset at the condition of all the ones I visited. Regarding condition of buildings, cleanliness and staff. My last choice was Cotleigh, all I can say is Wow!! From entering the reception to meeting the staff, facilities etc. The care my mum has had has been outstanding, also, the support to me and my family. Thank you.
It means a great deal to hear that your first impression of Cotleigh stood out so positively, especially after visiting other settings. Our team works hard to create a...
We are very pleased how mum is being looked after. Since moving to Cotleigh, she has settled in well. She is receiving a very good level of care from regular caring staff. Unfortunately, I don't agree with the new policy on Christmas decorations as the care home will look a bit miserable during the festive season.
Thank you so much for your kind words about the care your mum is receiving. We're really pleased to hear that she has settled in well and that our regular team has helped her feel comfortable and supported.
We also appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the new Christmas decoration policy....

Having looked at 8 care homes and placing my mum in law on 4 wait lists, Cotleigh was happy to ofer her a permanent place on 18/08/2025. We as a family are really pleased with all the staff & care that she has received. The home is lovely, clean and everything about it is welcoming. I think it is good value for money with the level of care she needs also one of the cheaper care homes as some we looked at were £200/£250 more.

My auntie has been living in Cotleigh after no longer being able to look after herself. She has a lovely room overlooking the garden. The staff have always been nice to my auntie and have time to take an interest in her. We are both happy that she gets the care she deserves and wouldn't want her living anywhere else.

Arrived at care home beginning of May and from day one, my step mum has been treated with care, respect and dignity. Staff take pride in their work and really care for the residents health and happiness. Communication from all staff has been excellent in keeping me informed about the welfare and progress of my step mum. Staff always very helpful, approachable and friendly. Great home with wonderful, caring staff.

I have been very pleased with Cotleigh. Mum, was has dementia, settled in quickly and the staff made a real effort to encourage her to eat. This worked and she started to eat again. Later, when she was losing weight again, she was seen promptly by the doctor and appropriate care was implemented. There is always a smile and welcome for visitors and I have been able to join in the music and movement activity with Mum on a Friday. Whenever she has felt up to going. I am kept informed of any issues either when I visit or by phone so feel confident that she is well looked after.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your mum has settled in well at Cotleigh and that our team's efforts to encourage her to eat have had a positive impact. Ensuring that our residents receive prompt medical attention and appropriate care is a top priority...
Family and friends are able to join residents.
What a fantastic day, residents sat outside, and all had sun hats and sun tan lotion available, several acts, and a good selection of age-appropriate songs.
The stars of the day have to be the staff. All dressed up and participated in dancing with the residents. Fabulous food all homemade and drinks.
The staff treats the residents with dignity, respect, and kindness. So utterly professional Cotleigh should be very proud of the care they give the residents.
Thank you for the fantastic review! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the resident event - sunshine, entertainment, and homemade food sound perfect. The staff truly appreciate your recognition of their professionalism and kindness. We'll share your feedback - especially about the dancing!
