Cotleigh has 62 large, en-suite bedrooms, each with a shower. Residents are encouraged to make their rooms feel like home by adding personal touches like photos, ornaments, or a small sofa. The hallways are spacious, and there are plenty of shared areas, all nicely decorated, with ongoing updates.

The dining areas have a personal feel, shaped by residents and staff. There is also a bar where residents can enjoy drinks, games, and singalongs, and families can reserve it for private meals or celebrations. They recently added a games room with a high-tech table, board games, and a reading corner. The tea room hosts monthly afternoon teas, and families can book it for gatherings.

The garden has ample seating, including shaded areas, and features a cocktail bar. They host themed events like a garden party, Alice in Wonderland, and country nights for residents, families, and the community.

Residents enjoy twice-weekly “music to movement” classes, visits from miniature ponies, singers, and outings to places like Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the beach, and local pubs.

There is a hair and beauty salon for hair and nail appointments, with a hairdresser visiting weekly, plus a jacuzzi bath for relaxing. A doctor visits weekly, and they coordinate health services like chiropody and dental care.

Meals are homemade, with residents helping to choose the menu. Favourites include fish and chips, pies, and ginger biscuits. The kitchen team also provide nourishing soups and milkshakes for those needing extra nutrition.

Residents have freedom here—they can move around, eat, and go out as they like. Some stay short-term while their home is being repaired or to experience life in a care home, and many choose to return. SheffCare are proud of the caring, dedicated team at Cotleigh, and their strong reputation with nurses, doctors, and families.

We are very pleased how mum is being looked after. Since moving to Cotleigh, she has settled in well. She is receiving a very good level of care from regular caring staff. Unfortunately, I don't agree with the new policy on Christmas decorations as the care home will look a bit miserable during the
festive season.
Reply from Amelia Charlesworth-Dakin, Marketing & HR Coordinator at CotleighThank you so much for your kind words about the care your mum is receiving. We're really pleased to hear that she has settled in well and that our regular team has helped her feel comfortable and supported.

We also appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the new Christmas decoration policy. Your feedback is important to us, and we certainly don't want the home to feel any less festive or welcoming. We will make sure your comments are passed on to the management team for consideration as we review how best to maintain a warm Christmas atmosphere while keeping everyone safe.

Thank you again for taking the time to share both your appreciation and your concerns.

After searching and inspecting many care homes in the South Yorkshire area, I came across Cotleigh. Cotleigh stood out from all the care homes I had recently seen. I am so happy to now review that everything including care, cleanliness, great food (I am told by many of the residents). The staff organise
fantastic events, many of these events include the families, fabulous garden parties. It's wonderful to see residents, their families and the staff enjoying these days.

My auntie has been living in Cotleigh after no longer being able to look after herself. She has a lovely room overlooking the garden. The staff have always been nice to my auntie and have time to take an interest in her. We are both happy that she gets the care she deserves and wouldn't want her living
anywhere else.

Having looked at 8 care homes and placing my mum in law on 4 wait lists, Cotleigh was happy to ofer her a permanent place on 18/08/2025. We as a family are really pleased with all the staff & care that she has received. The home is lovely, clean and everything about it is welcoming. I think it is good
value for money with the level of care she needs also one of the cheaper care homes as some we looked at were £200/£250 more.

Thank you so much to the management and staff at Cotleigh Care Home for making the transition into care for our dear mum so much easier than we had anticipated. First impressions are impeccably clean, warm, welcoming and homely. The wonderful staff are always friendly, smiling and attentive. We are
always welcomed with a friendly smile and their attention to detail and person-centred care goes above and beyond; even down to letting mum 'sleep in' and have her favourite possessions allowed. Mum is treated with respect and compassion, which we truly appreciate.

I have been very pleased with Cotleigh. Mum, was has dementia, settled in quickly and the staff made a real effort to encourage her to eat. This worked and she started to eat again. Later, when she was losing weight again, she was seen promptly by the doctor and appropriate care was implemented. There
is always a smile and welcome for visitors and I have been able to join in the music and movement activity with Mum on a Friday. Whenever she has felt up to going. I am kept informed of any issues either when I visit or by phone so feel confident that she is well looked after.

Residents cocktail party 12:30-15:30.
Family and friends are able to join residents.
What a fantastic day, residents sat outside, and all had sun hats and sun tan lotion available, several acts, and a good selection of age-appropriate songs.
The stars of the day have to be the staff. All dressed
up and participated in dancing with the residents. Fabulous food all homemade and drinks.
The staff treats the residents with dignity, respect, and kindness. So utterly professional Cotleigh should be very proud of the care they give the residents.
