Lovely place my mum has been in there for three weeks and she is doing amazing staff can't do enough to help any thing you ask they try to help with want to thank all staff for help my mum to settle in

My Mum who has Parkinson's Disease and a rare disease called PSP. She was admitted to Knowle Hill after a long stay in hospital for 6 weeks respite care. Mum liked it so much that she wanted to stay and is still a resident as of September 2026. Mum now needs nursing care so has to move. We both really don't want her to leave Knowle Hill. The staff are all amazing and care for her as if she a relative of them. I cannot rate this care home enough. It is such a lovely atmosphere and everyone is so friendly from senior management, care staff, cooks, cleaning and laundry staff. They are all amazing and work so hard and are so very kind and considerate of my Mum's needs. I cannot praise them enough. They do an exceptional job caring for all the residents. I just want to thank everyone of them. This care home is highly recommended.

Cotleigh has been on a decline for a couple of years, and the new manager seems intent on making things worse. She has lied to our face repeatedly about the level of care my father was receiving. They fired the guy in charge of arranging activities, so residents have little to do. Conversely? On the record breaking hottest day of the year they thought an OUTDOOR singer was a good idea! Residents don't have real autonomy, with mealtime seating being assigned and inflexible (at least on my father's wing, I hear it is not always like this), even when another resident poses a danger, which one of them consistently does, having physically harmed multiple other residents. Chronically understaffed, and agency staff are not good enough, often unable or unwilling to basic tasks. The core staff themselves are generally friendly and caring, but stretched far too thin, especially at night. Lastly the quality of food is abysmal, and they are unable to correctly provide for dietary requirements.

I am full of praise for the carers at springwood, they recently included my mum in a trip to cleethorpes which she enjoyed immensely and regularly have activities to keep residents active. In my experience the staff there are very caring and attentive to my mums needs, are always on hand to assist with anything she needs. I dont live nearby and when mum was taken ill recently we were regularly updated by staff and when we visit staff always take time to see us and update us on how well mum is doing. My brother lives nearby and staff also contact him regularly if there is anything mum needs and similarly he is very happy with how mum has settled in to springwood. Mum is nearly 92 and it is very comforting to know mum is in a safe, secure and caring environment.

Both my mum and my dad have lived in Housteads . After seeing the quality of the care my mum received we did not consider anywhere else when finding a home for my dad. The staff are so helpful and they seem to genuinely care about the residents. There are plenty of events. As a visitor I always feel welcome. The only criticism I have is that the rooms are a bit small for more than the be visitor but there are other places you can go and the courtyard garden is nice .

My mother has been a resident with the group for 20+ years. She has always been looked after absolutely superbly all the staff at Burnt Tree Croft are amazing.

After her death the staff continued to show compassion to myself and family.

Cotleigh is not the same care home as it used to be. They think that by swopping the carers around that this is the best thing to do. Dementia patients require familiarity and not someone different everyday. You can see the difference in the residents due to this. Same for end of life care you need experienced carers not anyone who they just send to cover. I would have recommended this Care Home probably about a year ago but not now.

Previous to my mother being accepted to Cotleigh, I visited many residential settings. I was shocked and upset at the condition of all the ones I visited. Regarding condition of buildings, cleanliness and staff. My last choice was Cotleigh, all I can say is Wow!! From entering the reception to meeting the staff, facilities etc. The care my mum has had has been outstanding, also, the support to me and my family. Thank you.

All went above and beyond normal standards to give residents the support they deserve during their diificult times.

My mum is so well cared for in Burnt Tree Croft care home, all the staff are genuinely kind and caring, they know her and make sure she has everything she needs and likes, we can't thank them enough.

Great home, really friendly and all the staff are so helpful. Mum loves it there, which makes taking that step so much easier. The visiting hours are really generous so we can pop in when we like as much as we like. Fantastic place, Thank you to all concerned.

We are very pleased how mum is being looked after. Since moving to Cotleigh, she has settled in well. She is receiving a very good level of care from regular caring staff. Unfortunately, I don't agree with the new policy on Christmas decorations as the care home will look a bit miserable during the festive season.

My mum has been in Midhurst care home for just over a year now, and despite her Alzheimer's deteriorating, they've been able to get her living a much better quality of life. She's enjoying activities with other residents, eating better, getting out of bed to socialise, and has even put on weight! She seems so much happier, as they've helped to get her medication amended, so she seems calmer and happier. Past experiences of care homes made us nervous about moving her into one, but the staff are lovely and attentive. They're always keeping us updated and discussing ways in which things could be made easier or better for her. It's really nice to see her thriving, despite her memory going more and more. Xxx

After searching and inspecting many care homes in the South Yorkshire area, I came across Cotleigh. Cotleigh stood out from all the care homes I had recently seen. I am so happy to now review that everything including care, cleanliness, great food (I am told by many of the residents). The staff organise fantastic events, many of these events include the families, fabulous garden parties. It's wonderful to see residents, their families and the staff enjoying these days.

Since my wife went into Cotleigh I have been very pleased with the care that she receives, the way the staff treat her and the happy & relaxed atmosphere they create, the food that the food that the residents receive looks absolutely gorgeous (makes my mouth water). I am kept in the loop at all times if anything should happen with my wife. I feel fortunate to have got my wife into Cotleigh, I can relax knowing she is well looked after to a high standard. Entertainment & trips out fabulous. A very nice place.

Having looked at 8 care homes and placing my mum in law on 4 wait lists, Cotleigh was happy to ofer her a permanent place on 18/08/2025. We as a family are really pleased with all the staff & care that she has received. The home is lovely, clean and everything about it is welcoming. I think it is good value for money with the level of care she needs also one of the cheaper care homes as some we looked at were £200/£250 more.

Staff are considerate and approachable, keep relatives informed about activities value for money, plenty of snacks inbetween meals, lovely outdoor space (garden). Staff also look after relatives with tea and biscuits etc. Overall a very good care home.
