Midhurst Road Residential Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Midhurst is the friendliest residential home I have come across out of 3 (countrywide). They made my mother feel very welcome. On her 'dying' days the staff showed her dignity and compassion in their care towards her.
The food is cooked on site including cakes making you feel definietly 'at home'.
After
her death the staff continued to show compassion to myself and family.
Reply from Amelia Charlesworth-Dakin, Marketing & HR Coordinator at Midhurst Road Residential HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt review. It means a great deal to hear that your mother felt so welcome and at home during her time with us at Sheffcare.
Providing compassionate, dignified care is at the heart of everything we do, and we are especially grateful for your kind words about the support your mother received in her final days. Knowing that our team could bring comfort not only to her, but also to you and your family, is incredibly important to us.
We're also delighted that you appreciated the home-cooked meals and freshly baked cakes-those little touches can make such a difference in creating a warm, homely environment.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Your words will mean a great deal to our team. We continue to hold you and your family in our thoughts.

Cotleigh is not the same care home as it used to be. They think that by swopping the carers around that this is the best thing to do. Dementia patients require familiarity and not someone different everyday. You can see the difference in the residents due to this. Same for end of life care you need
experienced carers not anyone who they just send to cover. I would have recommended this Care Home probably about a year ago but not now.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I cannot speak highly enough about the care and support offered by all the staff teams at Grange Crescent. I have gone from a place of feeling daily concerns and dread to one of peace. My mum has been a resident for 4 years and is in a place where she is content, happy and, most of all, safe!
Mum
suffers with dementia which has definitely stabilised in the time she has been at Grange Crescent.
The care staff are acutely tuned into the needs of the residents and highly adaptable in their approaches with the best interest of their clients at the heart of all they do.
Catering staff go above and beyond to ensure my mum has a varied and nutritious diet as she is affected by dysphagia limiting what she can and cannot eat safely. Mum loves her food! Relatives can also enjoy Sunday Lunch with their loved ones which is a really special offer which I am so lucky to benefit from.
If I ever I had to choose a care home again it would ,without doubt, be Grange Crescent!
Thank You All !

Previous to my mother being accepted to Cotleigh, I visited many residential settings. I was shocked and upset at the condition of all the ones I visited. Regarding condition of buildings, cleanliness and staff. My last choice was Cotleigh, all I can say is Wow!! From entering the reception to meeting
the staff, facilities etc. The care my mum has had has been outstanding, also, the support to me and my family. Thank you.
Reply from Amelia Charlesworth-Dakin, Marketing & HR Coordinator at CotleighThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We're truly grateful you took the time to share your experience!
It means a great deal to hear that your first impression of Cotleigh stood out so positively, especially after visiting other settings. Our team works hard to create a welcoming, clean, and supportive environment for both residents and their families, so your words are incredibly encouraging.
We're especially pleased to know that your mum's care has been outstanding and that you and your family have felt supported throughout. Providing compassionate, high-quality care-and peace of mind to loved ones-is at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you again for your trust and recommendation.

Housteads

from Roger E (Husband of Resident) published on 10 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife stayed at Housteads from the end of December 2025 until the third week in March 2026. During this time she received the highest levels of care and support from a professional and dedicted group of people, from Admin, Carers, Cleaners to Kitchen staff.
All went above and beyond normal standards
to give residents the support they deserve during their diificult times.

The same support was given to relatives of the patients, like myself. Always approachable, any time of the day and kept me informed on my wifes condition. The activities staff also provided a varied range of pastimes from seed planting to pub visits and visits of a wide range of entertainers.
When she moved to another home (in the same group), nearer my home, it felt to me like losing long time friends.
Sheffcare's slogan of' Care Not Profit' is certainly epitomised by their employees.

Reply from Amelia Charlesworth-Dakin, Marketing & HR Coordinator at HousteadsWe're truly grateful for your kind words and are so pleased to hear that your wife received such high levels of care and support during her stay at Housteads. It means a great deal to us that you felt supported as well - keeping families informed and involved is something we care deeply about.

Your recognition of our entire team, from care staff to housekeeping, kitchen, activities and admin will be shared with them all. They work incredibly hard to create a warm, supportive environment, and your feedback reassures them that their efforts are making a real difference.

We're especially glad you enjoyed the range of activities on offer - helping residents stay engaged and connected is such an important part of what we do.

Although we understand how difficult transitions can be, we're pleased your wife has been able to move closer to you, and we hope she continues to receive the same high standard of care. We wish you both all the very best.

We are very pleased how mum is being looked after. Since moving to Cotleigh, she has settled in well. She is receiving a very good level of care from regular caring staff. Unfortunately, I don't agree with the new policy on Christmas decorations as the care home will look a bit miserable during the
festive season.

Midhurst Road Residential Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum has been in Midhurst care home for just over a year now, and despite her Alzheimer's deteriorating, they've been able to get her living a much better quality of life. She's enjoying activities with other residents, eating better, getting out of bed to socialise, and has even put on weight! She
seems so much happier, as they've helped to get her medication amended, so she seems calmer and happier. Past experiences of care homes made us nervous about moving her into one, but the staff are lovely and attentive. They're always keeping us updated and discussing ways in which things could be made easier or better for her. It's really nice to see her thriving, despite her memory going more and more. Xxx

Having looked at 8 care homes and placing my mum in law on 4 wait lists, Cotleigh was happy to ofer her a permanent place on 18/08/2025. We as a family are really pleased with all the staff & care that she has received. The home is lovely, clean and everything about it is welcoming. I think it is good
value for money with the level of care she needs also one of the cheaper care homes as some we looked at were ÂŁ200/ÂŁ250 more.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother is 93 years old with some cognisance issues and quite deaf but was welcomed into Knowle Hill by all the carers. She has been very well looked after by everyone and is settled and happy so we are all so relieved we have great support for her needs and know she is safe.
