Cotleigh has 62 large, en-suite bedrooms, each with a shower. Residents are encouraged to make their rooms feel like home by adding personal touches like photos, ornaments, or a small sofa. The hallways are spacious, and there are plenty of shared areas, all nicely decorated, with ongoing updates.

The dining areas have a personal feel, shaped by residents and staff. There is also a bar where residents can enjoy drinks, games, and singalongs, and families can reserve it for private meals or celebrations. They recently added a games room with a high-tech table, board games, and a reading corner. The tea room hosts monthly afternoon teas, and families can book it for gatherings.

The garden has ample seating, including shaded areas, and features a cocktail bar. They host themed events like a garden party, Alice in Wonderland, and country nights for residents, families, and the community.

Residents enjoy twice-weekly “music to movement” classes, visits from miniature ponies, singers, and outings to places like Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the beach, and local pubs.

There is a hair and beauty salon for hair and nail appointments, with a hairdresser visiting weekly, plus a jacuzzi bath for relaxing. A doctor visits weekly, and they coordinate health services like chiropody and dental care.

Meals are homemade, with residents helping to choose the menu. Favourites include fish and chips, pies, and ginger biscuits. The kitchen team also provide nourishing soups and milkshakes for those needing extra nutrition.

Residents have freedom here—they can move around, eat, and go out as they like. Some stay short-term while their home is being repaired or to experience life in a care home, and many choose to return. Dad has been in Cotleigh just over a year & from the very beginning when we were overwhelmed by what lay ahead, we were put at ease & felt completely confident that Dad was safe and well. From everyday care to all the activities & events, the staff really do go above & beyond to ensure the residents
& their families enjoy special time together. Afternoon teas, Coronation, Halloween, remembrance days & other events throughout the year really do mean so much as they give the opportunity to see residents, family & staff join together to create special memories & see their loved ones enjoying themselves. The homemade buffets & selection of cakes are also an added bonus each time these events take place. The home is decorated according to the event, adding a homely feel when you enter.
On a more practical level, whether it be doctor appointments, chiropody, opticians, or dentists, all this is handled and dealt with quickly and efficiently. This really is a caring home.

My father has been a resident for a year now and whilst he has advanced dementia and now very frail, the staff are doing a fantastic job of caring for him. This is a great comfort for me (I live 2 and a half hrs away) and my family nearby. The effort made getting him up and about, whether for his meals
in the dining room or the various activities (that you see so many other residents enjoying) is magnificent. Whilst all the staff are absolutely super who care for Dad on a daily basis (too many to mention or make blush!). One outstanding lady is the events organiser and the chef and his team, who I only single out for personally making my (and Mum's) Christmas incredibly special by arranging (and personally serving!), a superb Christmas Day lunch - it was so special to spend the day with him with other residents and their relatives too (when sadly it may be his last Christmas). The food was fantastic! Thank you all for what you do in a very emotional and challenging environment.

My husband will have been in care nearly a year and been looked after with the best care possible for him they do everything to make him comfortable and safe and take him to many activities which is good for him.
I also go to many of the activities they do for family to join in with there loved one's
it's a lovely atmosphere and the staff are more like friends my eldest son.
I had our Christmas dinner with my husband and other families which was really special to be able to spend it with him the food was amazing and a great atmosphere the staff made it special for us all.

Cotleigh is a well-run, friendly, efficient and very special home. The staff are incredibly lovely, always on hand when needed and always call me with information such as health issues or what my sisters will be at that day. They go to a lot of effort to make sure residents have a good life and organise
and fund (by raising money too) trips, get togethers and events.
My 2 sisters live here in different areas and have been different people since they have been here, with a great quality of life they did not have at home. They participate in regular activities and trips and have a thoroughly good life here. I cannot recommend Cotleigh enough, from the minute you walk in, it has a lovely feeling.

What a wonderful time Christmas has been at Cotleigh. The staff have excelled themselves yet again to give all residents the best Christmas possible from the lovely decorations and parties around the building to the 'Alice In Wonderland' pantomime which was a great success with residents, family and
friends alike. A wonderful touch was staff dressed as Father and Mother Christmas inviting young family members to meet Father Christmas. Residents who were not well enough to leave Cotleigh on Christmas Day were able to invite family to lunch with them and we were thoroughly spoilt with a 5-star Christmas lunch from their brilliant chef and served by a lovely, bubbly member of staff who couldn't do enough to make us all welcome. Thank you all so much from my brother and myself for the hard work and effort made by everyone.

Mum has now been at Cotleigh for 9 months and we have noticed a very positive change in her health and general demeanour. She gets looked after but retains a large element of her independence.
The staff are superb and all go that extra mile to ensure that the residents are happy content and cared for.
She
takes part in many of their activities and is talking to staff and residents all day. We looked long and hard when trying to find somewhere suitable for Mum and couldn't be happier with the result. The staff are like friends - not only for Mum, but also to the family.

Lovely home majority of staff caring and pleasant. Communal areas clean and pleasantly decorated not sure on food as not seen what they eat. Bedrooms well equipped with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and desk.

Mum has been at Cotleigh for a few months now and I cannot praise highly enough the care she has been given over that time.
Her having to go into a residential home is something we have tried to avoid for quite a while but we eventually had to come to the painful decision.
Cotleigh is a wonderful
care home. They made Mum and our family feel so welcome from the start. All the staff are friendly, caring and professional and go above and beyond to make my mum feel safe and happy. She is treated with dignity and respect at all time.
Mum’s room is well-furnished, spacious and clean. She has been allowed to bring some of her own things in to personalise it. It overlooks a beautiful garden which we are looking forward to using in the warmer weather.
Whilst still allowing her to control her decisions, there are plenty of activities for her to take part in. She has made friends in the home which is lovely to see.

Cotleigh provides a safe and comfortable environment for my mum. She has deteriorating memory loss. Her dignity is always respected, and her needs are cared for. I had tremendous guilt about Mum going into care, but Cotleigh has helped lessen this burden and worry.

Mum has been a resident for a few weeks now. I researched all care homes in Sheffield before deciding on Cotleigh. Upon visiting - the reception was bright and welcoming, with many beautiful Christmas decorations as well as homely Christmas trees/lights and decorations throughout the wings. I could
see that there had been a great effort to achieve this presentation.
My mum has quickly settled into her new home, where the staff are so kind, caring and available to discuss any issues that may arise. All staff are approachable for any concerns and help.
Mum has told me that she feels safe and happy now as the staff are so lovely.

What a wonderful afternoon the care home gave my mother, it was her birthday and they did a lovely afternoon tea, with a singer who was really good with all the residents who were also there. The staff were fantastic, so caring and thoughtful to everyone, including our family, nothing was too much trouble.

My mum was in Cotleigh for the last year of her life. She could not have been anywhere better. The staff are kind, caring and very attentive to her needs. The team leaders were quick to call the GP and district nurses when needed, who are close by. I am very grateful for the care my mum received and
I felt confident to leave her in Cotleigh. I live nearly three hours away but was always kept informed of any issues.

I would like to give my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Cotleigh for the care my mum has received the last year and especially the last few days before her death on the 7th of March. I had a very hard decision to make whether to send Mum to hospital or for her to spend her final days
at Cotleigh and I’m glad I chose the latter. The carers were angels making sure she was as comfortable as possible and felt loved. They also looked after me and my family for two days and nights and comforted me when the inevitable happened. The care at Cotleigh is second to none. Mum passed with dignity and love and I will always be grateful to them.

I found the carers very professional and good. Also, they were very nice especially good with the residents, cheerful and positive attitudes with them. They provided a very good 90th Birthday for Mum including music for her to dance to. A young helper also one day made me and Mum tea and buns like a
private intimate tea party. When it came to Mum's final few hours alive they helped me and my sister to be by her side and made it as painless as possible for us and Mum. Thanks for all you did for Mum.

Attended Valentine's afternoon tea on the 15th of February, what a fabulous time experienced. I was unsure if Mum would attend as she had been ill in bed with a chest infection the week before but due to the wonderful care she is given she has once again pulled around and was included. The effort and
the detail that staff put into the planned activity are fabulous with the outcome clearly providing a good time for residents and visitors despite their level of dementia.

I have known my friend, a resident at Cotleigh Care Home, for over seventy years and have not been able to see them since the Covid crisis. It was wonderful to see them this last week and I was very impressed, both in the care home itself and the lovely relationship I saw between staff and residents.
