Visiting my friend who is a resident at 'Darwin House' is always a pleasant experience. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very caring towards the residents. My friend is always treated well with kindness and dignity and her family are relieved and found such a good place for her to live. The staff work hard to provide stimulation and activities as well as occasional trips out. I would recommend 'Darwin House' to anyone needing care.
. Very attentive staff for both residents and visitors.
. Excellent food, some of which is tailored to suit palates of individual residents.
. Very good provision of services.
. Good, airy, bright rooms.
. First class service at all levels.
Staff are very approachable and supportive to residents and family members. I receive regular feedback on Mum's wellbeing, for example, each time the doctor has seen her. Standards are high across all aspects of residential care. Darwin House is a very welcoming environment and a pleasant place to live. It doesn't feel like a care home Activities are offered to stimulate residents and all staff are very caring and understanding of resident's needs. Food is excellent and varied. Residents are treated with dignity. Quite simply there is not a better place for Mum to live in her later life.
My experience on visiting Darwin House has been so very rewarding to know how a care home has been run in all aspects of caring. Having been a course tutor for home carers/wardens/social care students, I cannot praise it enough. I took a new friend today and she was so impressed with how nice the staff were etc. This is my honest opinion. This is one of the most caring homes I have been in all over the city in the past. I am old now but my standards of care have not changed. Keep up the good work. Well done.
I think my friend (ex neighbour) is well cared for. As a friend I am unable to assess value for money but am sure safety etc is of a really high standard. Staff are always polite. Very pleased today as we are able to be sat outside in the garden.
living in Blackpool I'm unable to visit my uncle more than four times a year, yet on each occasion I have been impressed with the care given to him. He is always clean and has a good rapport with the staff who laugh and joke with him. On every visit I've been offered refreshment (very welcome after a long journey) and I've noticed how clean the rooms are, no lingering smells anywhere. Sometimes I phone the home and if possible, I speak with my uncle, as the staff are happy to help him come to the phone. This June I was delighted to see their rapid response when an emergency buzzer sounded and I know my uncle is in safe hands.
I consider that I am well looked after the helpers do a very good job. They are very caring both men and women.
As my husband and I were going on holiday for the whole of February we decided, with my mother, that she would spend this time at Darwin House. From our initial enquiry and onwards the staff were so helpful. The transition for mum to Darwin House was smooth and they made her feel so very welcome. She was very happy during her stay and we were able to enjoy our holiday in the knowledge that she was being cared for well. A great team and many thanks to them all.
I stayed at Darwin House for 5 weeks while my daughter was on holiday. I found the attention received and kindness of all staff to be exceptional. The food was excellent, all rooms were well maintained and decorated and were both clean and warm. I would happily go back to stay at Darwin Hose again, the next time my daughter is on holiday.
My mum had just over 4 weeks respite after being ill in hospital. The staff were fabulous, very respectful and caring. Nothing was a bother to them. The food was lovely (I stayed for 3 meals with her) and there was plenty offered, all freshly cooked and suitable for pensioners tastes. Her room was satisfactory clean and comfortable. Her laundry was kept up to date, my only concern was that a few items of underwear went astray. I would have no hesitation to recommend this home.
Darwin House is a very pleasant home which is kept spotlessly clean. The large well maintained rooms have a pleasant appearance and residents have the use of a free telephone. The staff are excellent offering constant care within nothing being too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.
My aunt seems very relaxed and happy at Darwin House. The staff are very caring and well informed regarding my aunts medical conditions. She has had a few emergency trips to hospital recently and spent a few nights in hospital. On her discharge Darwin House staff have welcomed her back with a broad smile and settled her back in providing the care and attention I know she will always get. An excellent care home.
An excellent home with friendly and helpful staff creating a very good atmosphere. Illness caused the stay of my mother in law to be relatively short but the decision to move from another home to Darwin House was well justified.
Darwin house has very caring staff. They are friendly and open, laughter can often be heard as they work together. The home is extremely clean and the rooms are cleaned on a weekly basis. The food is good, tailored to the choices and dietary needs of the residents. The manager is superb, she is friendly and efficient. All queries/complaints are dealt with immediately. There is an honest and open approach to everything. The accounting system is second to none. It is worked out extremely fairly, an expensive business in which they never overcharge or take their full cancellation fee as there is always someone waiting for a room.
