Abbeydale Care is a family-run care home providing high standards of care to older people. They strive to improve residents’ quality of life during their time at the home. The 32 residents at Abbeydale are cared for by 38 staff, 22 of whom are fully-qualified care workers. All staff receive ongoing training and are dedicated to treating residents with respect, dignity and compassion in a friendly and comfortable environment.

There are a range of spacious bedroom apartments to choose from, all of which feature ensuite facilities and some have garden terraces. Residents are provided with meals and snacks which use locally sourced ingredients and are cooked by the home’s kitchen team. Personal preferences and dietary requirements are catered for.

Residents are encouraged to be as active as possible. They can participate in a range of activities and outings, including art classes, flower arranging, games and quizzes, as well as visiting entertainers and musicians.

Abbeydale consistently provides high levels of care and support. Staff regularly go beyond what might be expected to provide a stimulating environment but personalised care. Staff are quick to respond to requests or concerns. Inside our residents room is always spotless as are the communal areas and
grounds. I always feel welcomed by all the staff.

I am the trustee for a resident at Abbeydale. She has very specific dietary needs to ensure the medication she takes for 4 separate chronic conditions is not cancelled by various foods. Ergo, she requires an individual diet. Plus gluten free, plus potassium problems. The chef and the home take exemplary
care to comply with what is required. In addition, the residents' care needs are met in every way. It is a pleasure to visit, to see the care taken by staff and the way the home is managed. I cannot recommend this home highly enough; the care given is exemplary.

Abbeydale is special.
It offers an exceptional standard of care, the service of a first class hotel together with delicious food and staff whose commitment goes well beyond the call of duty. Also an attractive environment clean, fresh, often with sounds of laughter and beautiful gardens.
Thought
has been given to the details of everything Abbeyfield staff do. With clear roles problems are addressed promptly by a team working together. Respectful listening, friendliness to residents, visitors and other staff, provides help to all of us to face the reality of our lives.
Last year I was unexpectedly unable to continue living independently. I moved into a care home but despite glossy adverts the simple requirements of the care I needed were not available. After two months I moved to Abbeydale. A life enhancing move.
Here not only have I survived but I've thrived.
I am profoundly grateful for all Abbeydale and its outstanding staff offer.

My father moved there in January and he has settled very well. The home is lovely. Warm comfortable and the staff are friendly and welcoming. What marks this home out from others I have experienced is that the owners take a very active role in the care of the residents and the maintenance of the building.
The gardens for example are nothing short of superb. Every time I go I get offered tea & biscuits (chocolate too!) . When I reach the age where I needed a care home, this is where I'd want to be. It's a really lovely home where everyone is truly cared for.

When my mother suffered a stroke and was admitted to hospital the care and consideration by the staff were incredible. We could not have asked for more. While a resident my mother has thoroughly enjoyed her stay.

I am so grateful to all of the Abbeydale staff for making my mother's 90th birthday celebrations memorable. They always provide superb care throughout the year where any request is met with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. However, they push the boat out for residents' special birthdays and
celebration days like Christmas. Mum was absolutely thrilled to receive huge helium birthday balloons, a delicious birthday cake complete with table fireworks, and pretty cards and presents from the owners. Our large extended family was made very welcome at a private drinks celebration set up in the spacious garden room surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was a truly wonderful day and I was very touched by the kindness of everyone at Abbeydale. It truly is a home that cares.

I have physical needs. I have dietary needs. I have early stage dementia. I have lived here five years. I feel all my needs are met. I feel management and staff go above and beyond to support us. We have activities, in house, bus trips to a very interesting variety of venues, all part of the package.
Occasionally there may be a trip to a theatre, cinema, or a longer bus trip where one leaves before lunch, where one pays for lunch or tickets but not for transport. I cannot imagine how the service could be improved.

During my working years I was a guest speaker at many companies annual conferences, always staying at five-star hotels, accompanied by my wife and in worldwide locations. However, when my wife and I could no longer take care of ourselves, because of age and infirmity, I did not expect to be able to
find a residential care establishment which would not only match our experience of earlier years but, in the case of Abbeydale, exceed in every aspect the level of service we had experienced in the best hotels in the world. In addition, of course, Abbeydale provide a range of personal services, essential to the elderly, that no hotel could even contemplate offering. My wife and I counted ourselves fortunate to have found such a special home in Abbeydale.

My mum is a resident at Abbeydale and I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and the family who run it. My mum had a fall recently and was in hospital. Several of the staff waited with her in A&E and visited her in hospital after her accident. They all showed such kindness, support and compassion,
and I can't thank them enough. Abbeydale is a special place, and I'm so glad we found it.

My mother has been in Abbeydale for five years now and has been very happy here and always tells us how lucky she is to be staying in such a beautiful home with caring and attentive staff. They have adapted to her needs as her mobility has gradually reduced, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
It is a friendly environment. The food is amazing and always spotlessly clean. We always enjoy visiting the home to see my mum but also to speak with the staff and owners.

My mother has been in Abbeydale for 13 months. A beautiful residential home, family-run. The care and home are outstanding. My mother is very well looked after. I cannot adequately describe the care, medical efficiency, companionship and love shown to all residents here. To do it justice, it is all way beyond the call of duty, nothing is too much trouble for the owners and staff members. The food is outstanding and tailored to the individual needs and dietary

My mum says the Food is wonderful and they are very flexible with the menus

Abbeydale is a safe and welcoming home for my mother. She is very well taken care of and very happy.
The food always looks appetising and healthy. The staff go about their duties in an efficient and jolly manner.
The home is always very clean and particularly beautiful at Christmas.
In the summer
the gardens are stocked with colours and scents for the residents to enjoy in the sun.

This is a care home like no other. The attention and care is outstanding. My mother is looked after so well, her settling-in period, was very smooth indeed. I am amazed at all the activities that take place which my mother seems to enjoy.
