Abbeydale Care is a family-run care home providing high standards of care to older people. They strive to improve residents’ quality of life during their time at the home. The 32 residents at Abbeydale are cared for by 38 staff, 22 of whom are fully-qualified care workers. All staff receive ongoing training and are dedicated to treating residents with respect, dignity and compassion in a friendly and comfortable environment.

There are a range of spacious bedroom apartments to choose from, all of which feature ensuite facilities and some have garden terraces. Residents are provided with meals and snacks which use locally sourced ingredients and are cooked by the home’s kitchen team. Personal preferences and dietary requirements are catered for.

Residents are encouraged to be as active as possible. They can participate in a range of activities and outings, including art classes, flower arranging, games and quizzes, as well as visiting entertainers and musicians.

This is a care home like no other. The attention and care is outstanding. My mother is looked after so well, her settling-in period, was very smooth indeed. I am amazed at all the activities that take place which my mother seems to enjoy.

Mother has been living at Abbeydale for around six years and I can honestly say that there has never been a single day when her care has not been outstanding. The manager's family run an extremely successful care home employing top-quality staff and outstanding levels of professionalism and care. It
is really pleasing to see members of this family being present and working in the home but also how cheerful all the staff are. There are many occasions when I hear laughter and cheerful remarks from the staff, both between team members and also between staff and residents. Abbeydale feels like a lovely family home with lots of extra guests! Life in Abbeydale feels safe and caring, with wonderful food and fun.
I am also grateful when the staff rang me at home to keep me informed of a particular medical situation. It feels that they care for my mother as if she were their relative. The online system is also really useful and the whole lifestyle feels very transparent.

Abbeydale is a lovely and very well-run residential home where my mother has lived in great comfort for over five years since my father's passing.
The staff are all so kind, caring and considerate and my mother is very happy in her room surrounded by her things and in comfort. The owner-managers take
a personal interest in the lives and well-being of all the residents, the food is excellent and the house and gardens are lovely and tranquil.
All around an excellent choice to spend the years.

Abbeydale is like a five-star hotel. My Mum is very well cared for, the staff are all very friendly and professional.
It is great that she can come and go as she pleases, visitors any time of day.
The activities and trips out on the bus are excellent and we couldn't be happier that Mum is spending
her final years in such a happy environment.

Abbeydale have provided an exceptional level of care to my grandparents since their arrival there in September 2022. They were solicitous and supportive of them both, as well as the family, even more so when my grandmother passed away in November. Throughout the initial weeks after her passing, they
helped my grandfather adjust to a new situation with patience and care and ever since they have continued to engage and entertain him and generally ensure he is as happy and comfortable as possible. Knowing the staff are there taking care of him is a huge burden lifted, the family knows he is safe and well looked after and when we visit, we feel so welcomed by the staff, the owners, and the other residents!

Abbeydale, a family-run residential care home and when my parents had to move there they became part of that family. The suites are beautifully furnished, the staff are absolutely amazing, attentive, patient and above everything else so kind. Unfortunately, Mum's health was failing everything that could
possibly be done to make sure her last few months were comfortable and pain-free was carried out with great dignity and compassion by all the staff. Chefs preparing special meals, birthdays celebrated with her favourite cake every member of staff popping in for a chat. After Mum passed away, the staff cared for us all and continue to support us. Dad has been given the most fabulous support and care which I am so grateful for, knowing he has a family around him as I live abroad has given me great peace of mind. I looked at several care homes, saw Abbeydale first with my parents and we knew immediately this was the only place where they would be happy. Abbeydale is amazing.

It is difficult to express the respect and gratitude in which I hold the owners and staff of Abbeydale. As you visit your relative the staff greet you by name and with great warmth. If I ask about my mother's health the staff know her preferences, and her nuances (good and bad!) and if they notice any
change in her status they contact me to inform me and suggest any helpful ideas. Food is a highlight of the day, especially fish and chips Friday! When possible there are ample trips weekly and staff are always creative in terms of entertainment and activities. My mother is the most content she has been for years and this brings great peace of mind to all our family. Thank you Abbeydale.

Abbeydale is the most wonderful retirement home. It is beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean, and the food is wonderful. The whole place is befitting of a first-class hotel rather than a residential home. The family work so hard to make it a success and the staff they employ are fantastic. They
don't change every five minutes like in some places which is settling for the residents.

Abbeydale has been the perfect home for Mum. Regular trips out and organised activities have been hugely beneficial to Mum's mental well-being. The staff are caring, professional and friendly with low turnover. That says a lot about the management and atmosphere in the home. Excellent, delicious food
that can be adapted to suit Mum's diabetes is much appreciated. We as a family rest assured that Mum is in good hands!

I live in the USA and am in daily video communication with my mum. I know therefore daily of her comfort and care. I am writing about the incredibly welcoming, thought-filled experience of an in-person visit in August. The staff treat you like family, they are curious and kind. I have visited many residences
in various capacities throughout my life. Abbeydale's environment, quality, surroundings and professionalism are in a superior higher league. I remain rest assured my mum is in a wonderful place.

A fantastic experience from start to finish. Mum spent nearly five years at Abbeydale; during the whole time she was looked after to a very high standard indeed. The owners are great, the staff fantastic, you really couldn't ask for much more. Mum died recently at Abbeydale having elected not to go
to hospital. The end-of-life care was outstanding, dignified, and supportive for the family. We will miss our visits to Abbeydale!

The care and support in Abbeydale is absolutely wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and staff. Excellent facilities. Spotlessly clean and good atmosphere. As an auxiliary nurse who has worked in many establishments over the years, Abbeydale is by far the best I have ever known.

My mother has been a resident for nearly 3 years and I cannot imagine a better residential home for her. In all the time she has been there, the feeling of being part of a vibrant, caring and stimulating family life has been uppermost. The physical environment is also lovely, with hotel standard food,
attractive interior décor and super gardens. The activities, before COVID, were varied and constant but even during this pandemic, the staff are doing their utmost to keep the residents worry-free, amused and entertained. This is a place to carry on enjoying one's life, not somewhere to just wait until it ends. Congratulations to the homes manager and her wonderful, dedicated team.

Wonderful care home, my mum was resident for two years, staff were always friendly and caring and took a genuine interest in the residents, they always treated residents with respect and dignity but also treated them as adults. Lots of activities available, trips out, ballroom dancing displays, hand
massages, quizzes. Family and visitors were always very welcome, Abbeydale go out of their way to make both the resident and family feel at home. Food is amazing - I happily joined my mum for lunch on several occasions. Residents could make their room their own, so my mum had lots of her paintings on the wall, homemade patchwork quilt on the bed, momentos around the room.
As soon as mum went to live there, I knew I didn't have to worry about her, she was happy, she was very well looked after and she had company.
We've told our children that's where we want to go when the time comes.

Words cannot convey the care, love and dignified support my mum has received from the truly amazing team at Abbeydale. Abbeydale truly is an outstanding care home. My mother has lived there for almost 2 years and I can honestly say that I have been unable to fault it in any way. My mother loves living at Abbeydale. The staff are so caring, it has a very homely atmosphere, the food is excellent and Abbeydale truly goes
the extra mile - with exercise classes, music etc nearly every day, trips out in their minibus, glasses of wine and sherry - all making residents feel that Abbeydale is their home, rather than just a place that they live.

Mum continues to thrive at Abbeydale. Following hip surgery, her mobility has improved so she is now able to become more involved with other residents and the many social activities. All the staff are friendly and attentive and we feel mum is very well cared for at the home.
