Wonderful care home, my mum was resident for two years, staff were always friendly and caring and took a genuine interest in the residents, they always treated residents with respect and dignity but also treated them as adults. Lots of activities available, trips out, ballroom dancing displays, hand massages, quizzes. Family and visitors were always very welcome, Abbeydale go out of their way to make both the resident and family feel at home. Food is amazing - I happily joined my mum for lunch on several occasions. Residents could make their room their own, so my mum had lots of her paintings on the wall, homemade patchwork quilt on the bed, momentos around the room.
As soon as mum went to live there, I knew I didn't have to worry about her, she was happy, she was very well looked after and she had company.

We've told our children that's where we want to go when the time comes.

Words cannot convey the care, love and dignified support my mum has received from the truly amazing team at Abbeydale. My own peace of mind that mum is living in such a beautiful and safe home is priceless. The manager and all the staff at Abbeydale are a credit to the caring profession and set standards which all other care providers can look up to and aspire to achieve.

Abbeydale truly is an outstanding care home. My mother has lived there for almost 2 years and I can honestly say that I have been unable to fault it in any way. My mother loves living at Abbeydale. The staff are so caring, it has a very homely atmosphere, the food is excellent and Abbeydale truly goes the extra mile - with exercise classes, music etc nearly every day, trips out in their minibus, glasses of wine and sherry - all making residents feel that Abbeydale is their home, rather than just a place that they live.

Mum continues to thrive at Abbeydale. Following hip surgery, her mobility has improved so she is now able to become more involved with other residents and the many social activities. All the staff are friendly and attentive and we feel mum is very well cared for at the home.

I have been visiting Abbeydale for many years now and the quality of the environment and the facilities still remains as high as ever. The owners are constantly finding new ways to improve the home to ensure it feels homely for the residents. Whether it’s building a new greenhouse to house the award-winning flowers Abbeydale is renowned for or refurbishing the rooms, everything is done to a five-star standard and without fault. The attentive staff are superb, affective and will always go the extra mile to help out any of the residents. Excellent all round!

My Step-mother has lived in Abbeydale for 7 years. It is difficult to fault it. The managing owners are in evidence and give careful thought to every aspect of care. Imagine the standards of a well run hotel together with the comfort and security of a family home. Though friends have come and gone in these 7 years staff have remained relatively stable, delivering care with kindness, patience, humour and respect. An upbeat atmosphere means residents need never be lonely or bored. A wide range of activities is offered. Health issues are dealt with promptly. There is a 24 hour 'open door' policy for relatives.

Visited a close friend who has recently become a resident at Abbeydale. Was thoroughly impressed with all aspects of this care home - very welcoming owners, stunning interior and furnishings, the bedroom of 5* hotel quality. The owners and staff cannot do enough to make my friend feel welcome, safe and secure. They treat all residents with tremendous respect and dignity. I would highly recommend Abbeydale to friends and family.

I found on visiting Abbeydale Residential Home a very friendly, beautifully decorated home, light and airy and all the comforts you find in your own home which is a plus. The staff are very attentive, kind and are happy to help you in any way they can. The food is good and they are happy to meet your needs and nothing is too much to meet your dietary desires also. The bedrooms are well arranged with sleeping area plus lounge area an ensuite bathroom everything spotless.

My aunt stayed at Abbeydale in Ilkley to recuperate. Ten days earlier she had been rushed into hospital as an emergency case with severe abdominal pains and although the medical problems were sorted out there, when the time came to leave, she was not strong enough to return home. Abbeydale has been her salvation as when discharged, she needed round the clock care. The kindness and patience of the staff, the excellent food and activities available have done the trick and she is stronger and bright again. I have no hesitation in recommending Abbeydale as a place of comfort and caring.

At 93-years-old my aunt came to Abbeydale after a brief spell in hospital.
Having lived independently I was worried how she would adjust to living in the home but after a month she has found herself enjoying watching television in the evenings with the other residents and even joined in a couple of the activities.
To say I have been surprised would be an understatement but the staff are a delight, not pushy, just encouraging. The other main revelation has been the food. Oh my goodness, it is good.

I tend to pop up at supper time and there always seems to be an extra pudding with my name on it. My aunt likes to eat in her room so it is lovely that we can have a cup of tea and a pudding together.

Abbeydale is a very smart, well furnished and well-decorated home with all the finishing touches one would have in one's own home.

The food is exceptional considering the demands of differing tastes and needs - all freshly cooked with a good choice and not repetitive. The gardens are well kept and colourful and there are various activities that take place. Most importantly, however, is the staff. They are all, from the maintenance, the kitchen and housekeeping teams to the care staff, engaging, friendly and truly caring.

On Christmas day I had lunch here with my mum among staff as elves and Santa's who made this special day even more special for my mum on this occasion and for me too.
I refer to them as Angels of Abbeydale. My mum has been here 10+ years and is treated as if family. Which is reassuring and comforting to my mum and family.

Thank you so much.

The Staff and Management at Abbeydale really do 'care'

It's a very big step to move an elderly relative out of a lifetime home but here she was welcomed into a new home and gained a new family. The standard of service including food and care is extremely high with a knowledgeable and passionate management team.

Having visited many care homes, I know how outstanding Abbeydale is. It is welcoming, clean, fresh smelling and very smartly and comfortably furnished. The care provided for my very elderly and frail mother is exceptional and the staff are all so pleasant and attentive to the residents. The food provided is excellent with plenty of choice. The minibus takes residents on regular outings and entertainment is provided both in-house and by many visiting experts eg art classes, exercise, quizzes, games, singing etc. A warm and homely atmosphere pervades Abbeydale - there is nowhere like it!

I visit a friend on a weekly basis. The staff at Abbeydale are incredibly welcoming, polite, helpful and very pro-active. My friend struggled to leave her home and move into a home but she has been made so welcome looked after to a very high standard and has settled in and praises all the staff commenting they cannot do enough for her and she feels very privileged to be in Abbeydale. We are all delighted.
