Norton House

My grandmother has now been at Norton House for a week, and from the very beginning we have been struck by the warm, friendly and genuinely homely environment. Every single staff member has been outstanding; warm, friendly, respectful, kind and welcoming.

For me, Norton House is the epitome of person-centred care. The team take the time to genuinely get to know each individual, understanding their personality, preferences, routines, interests and what matters to them. They work hard to create meaningful engagement in ways that are personal to each resident, whether that is through conversation, respecting individual meal preferences, encouraging social interaction, or supporting outings and activities that bring enjoyment and purpose.

They have made an emotional transition so much easier for my family. Most importantly, I feel reassured knowing my grandmother is being well cared for in an environment that is not only keeping her safe but actively enhancing her quality of life.

Daily programs of activities include trips to the coast , cafes, parks and museums.

Could not recommend Norton House enough.

This is a true little gem of a caring care home. The ethos of the knowledge and professional management team is reflected in all of the staff who really do want the best for each and every one of their residents. During the time my LO was at Norton House, she was treated with dignity and respect- even when she was less than appreciative! I visited many care home when looking for my LO and knew this was the one as soon as I entered the door. It truly is a home from home and I have no hesitation in recommending Norton House to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

To all the staff at Norton House, a massive THANKYOU! You have brought that smile back to my dad's face again! Right from the start, when we took dad to look around, we were welcomed into the loveliest of any care homes I've visited. The Manager, Jilly-Jo, took her time showing us round, aiming her attention both to dad and to us, as should be. We ended up staying 2 hours, during which dad had his dinner and we were looked after too - nothing was too much for the staff! A full assessment took place and when I asked dad if he wanted to move in, he said, "it's a no-brainer!" He literally hasn't stopped smiling since. Within 24 hours, the wonderful carers had him back on his feet and walking and now, after only a week, he is walking to the dining room and back - the most he's done, probably in a year. The owner, Oliver, is fabulous, very approachable and chatty, and every single member of staff I've met, are outstanding. I cannot recommend Norton House enough!

Norton house cared for my mum for 3 years. She was so happy with them, and it was such a relief for us to know she was safe, happy and cared for. The staff are so kind and thoughtful. I wish to book a room for my own care in a few decades time.

Ruth absolutely loves Norton house care home. She is really happy and is looked after. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We love being able to yake our dog as it makes Ruth's ad the other residents day.Norton house care home is the most perfect place and would recommend to any family.

Over Christmas and since Ruth went or live at Norton their care has been exemplary. She's been involved in activities and had trips out. Can't rate the home and staff highly enough, they're real 'people persons' understanding the needs of Ruth and her family..

My Mother was very happy in Norton House Care Home, and at no time did I have any concern over her care, quite the opposite in fact. The care and attention she received was outstanding; there was no doubt the staff knew her very well, all her little idiosyncrasies which they accommodated with grace, dignity and humour. The communication with me, her son, was excellent, with regular care plans to review and comment on and phone calls when needed. At every visit, the staff greet you with a warm welcome and have time to discuss anythingv you need to be aware of or wish to discuss. They mirror the high standards set by Oliver, Jillie-Jo and Ruth in this home. The response to the COVID pandemic just illustrated the professionalism, with a heart, of this team in the face of a real challenge as they put residents first. My family and I consider it a blessing that, as care was needed, Mum lived her final years at Norton House, and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Does exactly what it says onthe tin - CARES.

I live 60 miles away and cannot visit as often as I would like but it brings me so much joy to see how happy and settled she is. She will be 93 in April and I haven't seen her look so well for ages. The staff are always friendly and supportive and they are also on social media so I get to see her playing games and enjoying excursions. The house is lovely and beautifully decorated and spotless. I know they are going to give the residents a great Christmas and can't wait to see them on social media. Well done to all the staff.

As a family it was a big decision to move Mum to full time residentail care - it has been the best decision we made - Mum is very happy and we are too!

It's hard to put into words how wonderful Norton House is. The environment, staff, facilities and care provided are exceptional. As a family we know mum couldn't be in a better place and we feel that Norton House is our extended family. It is a pleasure to visit mum and see the kindness, care and attention to detail that goes into fulfilling all her care needs. They go the extra mile in making the residents lives more interesting and fun with regular activities and events. Thank you Norton House!

Staff always smiling and patient with residents. House clean and tidy. Staff always ready to listen and answer any worries or queries of relatives. Nothing too much trouble for them.

Mum has only been here since the beginning of July but in that time she has become one of the Norton House Family. Mum has Alzheimer's and so unfortunately I had to make the decision for her to go in a Care Home as she wasn't able to look after herself properly and I think I made the right choice. Because Norton House is a small Care Home, the staff work hard but still have time to spend with the residents, they are so friendly and careing, with plenty smiles and hugs for anyone that might be needing one that particular day. The food is good, lots of activities to keep everyone occupied and mum is no longer lonely. Unfortunately because of the nature of her disease she doesn't remember a lot of what she has been doing, but I know she is living her best life and have no worries recommending Norton House to anyone looking for somewhere to place their loved one.

Nothing but positive experiences every time we visit mum. The staff are all excellent, well trained, welcoming and friendly. I was dreading my mum having to go into residential care, but Norton House has made the whole process easier and provided great piece of mind. Thoroughly recommend.

Genuinely amazing!

My grandma had been living at home alone with carers going in, but it got to a point where that wasn't manageable anymore for anyone.

Norton House were welcoming and accommodating from the off.

The thing that I personally liked the most though was how straight forward they felt, no pushy sales pitch, no promising the world, which was refreshing in the middle of running around care homes and trying to get a solution together.

Also there were (and are now) a few rooms being refurbished, which was nice to see.

The whole building has nice homely feel to it, not clinical.

My grandma raves about the food and staff, and her quality of life is night and day from how she was at home from my point of view and hers.

I can even visit with my grandmas dog too.

Its obvious the staff genuinely care about what they do and why they do it.

We know that she is in very good hands and fully enjoys her Norton House experience in all respects.

Staff are always friendly and very helpful. I feel certain that in her own way she is happy staying with you .
