Always a warm, friendly welcome. All staff are always happy to help with anything. Always kind and reassuring to all residents with a sense of humour. Constantly offering activities and providing opportunities for all residents, family, and friends to join in, e.g. Halloween/Christmas.
My friend is
very happy here, and it is always a pleasure to visit.
Good food, lots of tea/coffee on offer.

I have always looked forward to seeing my nana, but I also look forward to seeing the lovely, attentive staff and characterful individuals who live at Norton House. There's always something going on, and I often feel inclined to partake! The activities keep residents physically and mentally stimulated;
they cover many different interests at many different skill levels to ensure everyone is included. The decor is warm and cosy; it feels like home. Tea and biscuits are plenty, the key to mine and my nanas heats. I often feel inclined to steal my nana's food; it looks so delectable. In my nana's words, "I like it very much, and they're very kind". Bonus point for Piano. Big fan. Thank you! Everyone who works here has a genuine love, patience and kindness towards residents.

My Mum, who was frail and suffered from dementia, spent the last few months of her life here, and we were so grateful that she did. The staff could not have been nicer, making her so welcome and making sure that all of her needs, both physical and mental, were catered for. She had a very bad experience
at the care home where the Local Authority had initially placed her, so we felt a bit battle-scarred and were very cautious in selecting somewhere else. Mum had been in and out of hospital due to her various ailments, and the contrast between how she was cared for at Norton House, as compared to the total lack of compassion exhibited in the hospital could not have been more stark. We were very clear that Mum was dying, we wanted her to stay at Norton House rather than go to hospital, and we are so glad that we did.
I cannot praise the team at Norton House highly enough and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Went to visit my mother in law and was shocked to find just how happy she was. She was very well presented, clean and tidy and she spoke highly of the home herself. She appears to be very happy and settled at Norton House and we as a family are truly grateful to all the staff for making mum feel this
way. The staff are very friendly and visitors are well looked after when they visit. Staff have a kind and caring approach and are very responsive when needed. Meals appear nice and activities are very person centred, tailored to mums likes and dislikes. I would highly recommend Norton House to family and friends.

Our mother is well looked after. Staff are polite, patient and professional.
The home is undergoing a refurbishment which is aesthetically pleasing.
The food could do with improving, a lot of repetition.
Clothes also often seem to go missing and it would appear not a lot of care is taken with separating
the clothes before washing.

The staff at Norton House are always so pleasant and helpful, although at times they do seem short-staffed.
I know time is spent chatting with my Aunty when possible which I appreciate as the more stimulus and sensible conversation she has will help her mental health and keep her awareness.

The staff are absolutely amazing there. Always there on hand to help and to tell us to allow them to care for my grandpa. Grandpa is soo much better since moving there and is having a better life. There is always staff around offering tea, coffee and biscuits. Nothing is too small for the staff to do,
and they will always find a way to help if there isn't something already there to help with a situation. Norton House is a little bit dated, but the owner is currently doing it up, and the work, so far, looks great. Was very unsure about moving grandpa into a care home, but since he moved there, I have had no doubts whatsoever. I wish every care home could be like that. Norton House is absolutely outstanding.

My grandpa has been here for over a month now, and I am very pleased with the way the home is run. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My grandpa has everything he needs, and all the residents seem happy when we visit. Very well run and has lovely staff, who make you feel very welcome. The home is

My mother-in-law stayed at Norton House for eight days of respite.
I have to say the staff are absolutely fantastic. My mother looked so clean and was visibly very happy whilst staying there. She made lots of new friends and seemed to form good relationships with the staff. The food always looked and
smelt great and there were constant refreshments being offered every time we visited. The staff team are all very good with all residents and can't seem to do enough. It was nice to actually meet the manager and see she got stuck in too!
Overall we are extremely happy with the care our mother received and most certainly will be booking at Norton House again in the future.

I have been a regular visitor to Norton House for a few years now and I absolutely love going in to see the ladies and gentlemen. The staff and management are all wonderful and very caring and patient, as well as very professional and very hard working. The food always looks and smells delicious too.
I do think that some areas of the home may need a little updating however it's still a lovely clean and cosy place to visit. The activities, including hairdressing and regular singing and dancing, with the ladies and gents, are wonderful to see and hear as well as playing on the piano. Overall it is a brilliant home and every member of staff is brilliant.

I've been very impressed and reassured by the staff especially but also the facilities. I especially appreciate the games that we can play in the conservatory or the quiet room. Jillie-Jo Carver

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2021

Jillie-Jo is our Registered Manager and the heart of Norton House. With over 20 years’ experience in the care sector, she started out as a carer and has worked her way up through dedication, compassion, and hands-on leadership. She holds her NVQ Level 5 and brings a calm, steady presence that anchors the whole team.


She oversees every part of the home – from resident wellbeing to staff development – and is known for her thoughtful leadership and passion for quality improvement. She’s warm, approachable, and always puts people at the centre of what we do.


Outside of work, Jillie-Jo enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful children. She’s also training as a hypnotherapist, reflecting her deep interest in emotional wellbeing and person-centred care.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2022

Ruth joined Norton House in 2022 as a Carer and has steadily progressed through the roles of Senior Carer and Team Leader before becoming our Deputy Manager.


Ruth takes a keen interest in all aspects of resident life, from activities and wellbeing to helping share special moments on our social media. She brings a thoughtful, focused approach to her work and is a valued part of the management team.
