I do not feel like I can give a full review. I visit my mother once a week if possible usually around 6pm. At this time the residents appear to be in the TV room, telly blasting out and no carers in view. They are usually in the dining room. Residents have asked me on numerous occasions to find a carer. There are no activities at this time of day. My mother is often in someone else's clothes, even though hers have her name in them.

It is always a worry when looking for a home for your Mother, you worry about how they will be treated when no one's looking. Will they be happy, what will be the atmosphere in the home be like?

I needed not to have worried - I can not imagine a more caring, friendly home. The owners and staff are superb, thoughtful, helpful and caring - I cannot praise them enough. They give me peace of mind that my mother is being we cared for in her twilight years.

I am happy with the home. They have activities but my husband will not take part so isolates himself, which is not good.

Overall Experience

Norton House is set in a quiet area of the town of Elland and provides an outstanding family run residential home for their residents. The management and staff are extremely supportive of residents and their families and provide a "homely" atmosphere. All residents are treated with the utmost care and dignity and staff will often go the extra mile to ensure they are comfortable and content. Communication between all parties is excellent and no request, large or small is too much trouble. A truly outstanding set of individuals who put their residents first and whose aim is to look after them as if they were family. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Norton House to family and friends.
