I have experienced a big improvement over the last 6 months. The place is much cleaner and everything is more organised. The staff are much friendlier and more caring, and helpful. I am pleased to see that activities and little concerts have started up again.

I was not great with my mum being in a care home, but when mum was taken in at Rastrick Hall & Grange, I felt it was the right place for her. The carers are amazing with her, I really feel comfortable with her being in your care. She has all of the carers calling her grandma! I know she isn't sleeping
great, but she has really settled in now, and she isn't packing her bags every day; that is all down to your team, and on behalf of us, I thank you very much for all you do.

My mother-in-law has settled in really well; she does not pack up every day and wants us to take her home. My wife wasn't happy about her going into care, and she was worried sick. My wife and I feel settled; she is in the right place. Your staff are amazing, they keep us informed of any changes.

We visited a number of care homes before choosing Rastrick Hall for my wife's brother, who suffers from dementia and needed safeguarding. We had reviewed the CQC report and discussed with the management, who were very open and honest about the previous issues. We also researched with local healthcare
professionals and were able to meet with the wife of another resident who had been there for 18 months. She spoke highly of the care. This is an initial impression, but his entry to the home was very good, with really helpful staff. We are very hopeful for the future and will review again.

I would give it 0 stars if I could, appalling care! Rude obnoxious staff and management a complete joke. Unexplained bruising they didn't put on system, I asked about said bruising and I'm accused of challenging! Failed to monitor basic health! Just sedated! Like zombies! Cutting family out of decisions!
Blame care liaison team, blame community mental health team blame doctors for their failures! Someone who can walk talk and feed themselves then 2 days later can't walk talk or feed themselves, goes into hospital with thyroid levels through roof, sodium levels through the roof, 30% kidney function and dehydrated! Loss of weight! But apparently they was fine! I don't call that fine. Banning family! Going against residents human rights! Residents items going missing, which are locked in clinic room! (Cigs) personal possessions out of room! Still owe family money when we moved the resident out after they ended up in hospital due to the negligence of Rastrick.

Since my mothers admittance 4 weeks ago, staff have been nothing but supportive. They've helped my mother settle down quickly and staff have assisted her with her needs. She's enjoying visiting another family member who is also currently a resident. She seems to look forward to getting her hair styled
every two weeks, and she enjoys the different activities that are put on for her.

Entrance and exit security worked
Staff were helpful and friendly and attentive to residents.
The dayroom was peaceful and well staffed.
The bedroom was clean, and adequately sized.
The home was warm throughout and my relative says that she enjoys the food.

My Dad has settled in brilliantly, coming up to almost twelve months since he moved in. It's a huge relief for me knowing my Dads needs are being met. He is happy which is clear for me to see through him showing his funny personality and he has bonded well with staff, particularly the deputy managers.

Rastrick Hall and Grange meet all the needs of my Grandma who has advanced dementia. It is approaching the 2 year mark of my Grandma being in the care home and I visit on a weekly basis. Over this time period the carers and nurses have developed a relationship with my grandma, they are able to explain
what they are going to do e.g personal care. The explanations help to keep my grandma calm. On some occasions I have arrived whilst the carers are completing some personal care and I've heard them signing from the corridor, again singing and music helps to keep my grandma calm and happy during her personal care.
I feel comfortable approaching staff with any concerns I may have and trust they will be dealt with in a satisfactory manner. I feel having a clear route of communication with staff is important as my grandma is unable to raise or express concerns herself.
Overall I'm pleased with the care Rastrick Hall and Grange provide.

I have had some concerns about mums dress and feel that i was able and did put things in place with management support to resolve this issue ,i have always suppled clothes shoes and monies for mums personal care from mums money ,
Mum says she is loved and enjoys her meals which is reassuring
, even with the her complex needs she seems content and happy in her surroundings , i have seen improvements in the home over the last few months which have been very noticeable.

The resident team and regular bank staff are great with Gran, she is calm and relaxed with all of the team. They will put in the TV, or music to ensure Gran has something to listen to. The team are all very warm and friendly and extremely approachable. If we have questions we never feel we are a bother.
The team ensure high standards of care at all times.
It is a shame we can not mention individual carers as the team really do go out of their way to ensure Gran is well cared for.
