The care and kindness offered by the staff are excellent. They, the staff, are always polite, listen well to residents, and encourage participation in activities even where these are refused. The home is always immaculately clean and the communal rooms homely in arrangement. There is a limited choice of meals but alternatives are suggested. This may be because of factors outside the control of the staff.

The staff are quick to notice when the residents need to be seen by a doctor and the local surgery very supportive.

Mum wasn't at Rastrick Hall for long and was suffering from ongoing UTI's during her time there so her behaviour was often challenging. The staff were unfailingly kind and patient with her and always made me feel welcome whichever times of day I visited.

The home was comfortable, clean and well lit. Food was excellent, communications from the home were very good and I was kept informed about mum's care. I was treated with compassion and sensitivity in the wake of mum's sudden and unexpected death.

I have been pleasantly surprised to find such a warm and caring environment for my mum. The staff are caring, friendly, helpful and supportive. This alone is enough to keep us happy, the rest of the service provided is of a good standard.

I have recently been involved in mum's care plan as we are new to the home and I must mention that two members of staff, in particular, have been very approachable and caring.

An extremely well-run operation with polite, efficient staff in all areas. On behalf of my late mother in law both my wife and I are very grateful for the way in which she was cared for, we always felt she was in safe hands. She often commented 'what a wonderful hotel' it was or referred to it as 'her home', praise indeed, it defines The Grange perfectly.

Every single member of staff was also compassionate and caring right up to her death at the age of 96 in September this year, we could not have asked for better attention. A really exceptional home, the best.

My mother was a resident for some two years prior to her death at 96. She was treated with care, compassion, understanding, friendliness and respect. Mum had dementia but thought Rastrick Grange was her home and a 'nice hotel'.
She was always smiley which told me she was happy and felt secure and cared for. The management and staff all go beyond the call of duty to make Rastrick a happy environment for them all to live and work in harmony.

The Grange is open for visitors 24/7 and always pleasant staff available for a chat, information or help for your relative. A 5-star care home in my opinion.

Mum spent the four years up to her death in August at Rastrick Grange suffering from dementia which meant eventually that she was unable to speak, feed herself or walk. (The last due to a broken hip from a fall.)
Throughout this time she was always treated with love, care, respect and dignity.
Mum's own feelings towards her carers were clearly evident during our visits from the frequent smiles she gave to all members of staff as they interacted and chatted with her.
We, as visitors, were always welcomed and time was taken with us to include and inform us regarding mum's care and well-being.

We can't thank the staff enough for their help, support and kindness throughout these four years.

Modern care home, clean and tidy. Staff very friendly, always make you feel welcome when visiting. Overall staff give caring support to residents and are genuine in their care. Very patient with my father, he has dementia and he struggled to settle in, but all the staff there worked to make it as comfortable for him as possible. Cost wise, we are self-funding so any care home is expensive.

I would recommend this care home 100%.

I cannot praise the staff of the Dementia unit enough. The team were extremely attentive, compassionate and professional at all times and couldn't do enough for my Dad to make him as comfortable as he could be in his latter stages of dementia. Whenever we called the atmosphere was always happy, the staff always very pleasant, patient and calm - the manager clearly has achieved a high standard of staff. I would like to commend the staff because they haven't an easy job - long shifts that I can imagine are physically and mentally challenging and never did I see any of them let their professionalism slip - truly wonderful people and they made me feel very humble.

All the family felt happy mother was in the home whilst central heating was fitted. Mums room was clean and nice, she got on with the staff looking after her. The food was good, mother being a drinker said "They should have a bar.". I think she though she was in a hotel. We took whisky in for mum and they gave her some every night. We all think the home did a good job looking after mother.
