Rastrick Hall & Grange

from Angela W (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I was not great with my mum being in a care home, but when mum was taken in at Rastrick Hall & Grange, I felt it was the right place for her. The carers are amazing with her, I really feel comfortable with her being in your care. She has all of the carers calling her grandma! I know she isn't sleeping
great, but she has really settled in now, and she isn't packing her bags every day; that is all down to your team, and on behalf of us, I thank you very much for all you do.

Reply from Paul Millar, Marketing Manager at Rastrick Hall & Grange

Thank you for taking the time to review our home. It is a pleasure to care for "Grandma " and we are thrilled at how well she has settled in. Your kind words are greatly appreciated, and I will, of course, share them with the Rastrick family.

My mother-in-law has settled in really well; she does not pack up every day and wants us to take her home. My wife wasn't happy about her going into care, and she was worried sick. My wife and I feel settled; she is in the right place. Your staff are amazing, they keep us informed of any changes.

Rastrick Hall & Grange

from Frank G (Brother-in-law of Resident) published on 15 August 2025

We visited a number of care homes before choosing Rastrick Hall for my wife's brother, who suffers from dementia and needed safeguarding. We had reviewed the CQC report and discussed with the management, who were very open and honest about the previous issues. We also researched with local healthcare
professionals and were able to meet with the wife of another resident who had been there for 18 months. She spoke highly of the care. This is an initial impression, but his entry to the home was very good, with really helpful staff. We are very hopeful for the future and will review again.

The Elms Care Home

from Tony K (Husband of Resident) published on 15 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

From the very first day to the last my wife was looked after in the best possible way. All staff acted in the best possible way. Her changing moods and needs were carefully explained to me and then acted on. Her medical needs were carefully dealt with as they changed. I was kept up with her progress
at all stages and could talk with all the staff to find out how she was. When the end came all staff rallied round and all my wishes were carried out with dignity. My thank go out to all of them.

My husband has been in this care home for 1 1/2 years and I am very happy with his treatment and care. His carers are kind and they do their best to make each and every resident as comfortable as possible. My husband can be extremely difficult and they are patient and take time to help and reassure

Dad was in hospital really poorly, respite care was arranged for Figham on the 10th June 2025. The staff welcomed him so warmly, the care for dad by all the staff was amazing. They all went above and beyond, with all staff have been so wonderful, from the cleaners right through to the laundry to the
catering to the manager. We were all allowed to stay in the room with dad, they cared for all of us. So amazing. Dad passed peacefully on the 9th July 2025. Staff became like family and friends to us all.

Cantley Grange

from J B (Son of Resident) published on 31 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5

The care my Mother received was poor on the whole. She was in for short term care (respite) for two weeks but in this short time, the issues were numerous. Her bed was regularly not made, towels not changed, breakfast was regularly served late and the food wasn't of a good standard. The care and support
from staff was mixed, with some members of staff being absolutely lovely, but others not so. We raised a concern about a particular incident with my Mother, which we considered to be bullying by a member of staff, only to be told that the staff member concerned had provided a completely false version of events and it was clearly her word against ours. We were hoping this two week respite stay would be a pleasant experience for Mum, and would pave the way for her to enter residential care permanently. However, this has not proved to be the case and she is reluctant to even discuss going into care now.

Our mam has been in Oaktree's care now for over 2 months and we are delighted by the excellent standard of care, the definite improvement in mam's health and wellbeing and the high levels of socialisation and personal, friendly, attentive contact she and we receive from happy and motivated staff. This
care home stands out from the moment you arrive at the stunning building in a beautiful setting. The decor and care inside are equally wonderful. My sister and I and families are delighted. Mam couldn't be in a better place of care. Sending our very grateful thanks and highest compliments to the hard-working, helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable, sincere and excellent caring staff and management of Oaktree Hall who excel in all they do.

My dad was sadly only a resident for a short space of time but his care during that time was exemplary. All the staff showed compassion and care to us as a family too. They couldn't do enough for us at such a difficult and emotional time. My only reason for not rating the activities was my dad wasn't
well enough to take part and as this is the first time I have had dealings with a care home I think the monetary rating is private. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend Figham House to anyone.

I would give it 0 stars if I could, appalling care! Rude obnoxious staff and management a complete joke. Unexplained bruising they didn't put on system, I asked about said bruising and I'm accused of challenging! Failed to monitor basic health! Just sedated! Like zombies! Cutting family out of decisions!
Blame care liaison team, blame community mental health team blame doctors for their failures! Someone who can walk talk and feed themselves then 2 days later can't walk talk or feed themselves, goes into hospital with thyroid levels through roof, sodium levels through the roof, 30% kidney function and dehydrated! Loss of weight! But apparently they was fine! I don't call that fine. Banning family! Going against residents human rights! Residents items going missing, which are locked in clinic room! (Cigs) personal possessions out of room! Still owe family money when we moved the resident out after they ended up in hospital due to the negligence of Rastrick.

Dad's needs have been looked after and he has quickly been moved onto the lower floor and is now much happier. All the staff have been excellent. Nothing too much trouble including a staff member getting dads daily paper from the local shop. I feel very comfortable that he is very safe in this environment.

Oaktree Hall & Lodge

from Sandra W (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 July 2025

Dad was admitted to Oaktree towards the end of 2024, their care was unquestionably very good. The team care for not only the residents but also their families taking the time to 'check in' and 'care'. Dads care needs became 'challenging' in the few months that he was there causing more work for the
staff but they coped very well and were always reassuring to us and him. The team quickly became like an extended family to us all we will always be forever grateful for their care and support through his final few months.

The Lawns Care Home

from Julie S (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I made an appointment to look around the care home with my parents, with a view to my mum going in for a week's respite. While we were being shown around my dad asked if we could book mum in as he was really impressed with the manager, the atmosphere and how well presented the home was. We arranged
for mum to come the following week and dad felt confident enough in her being looked after that he booked a few days away. All of the family noticed how well settled and happy mum was and how kind the staff were with her. After the week of respite, we decided to extend mum's stay, with a view to her becoming a permanent resident.
Mum is well looked after, happy and relaxed. She has quite advanced dementia and her needs are met with understanding and kindness.

My dad originally went in for respite care but after a week at Sutton Hall & Lodge he decided he would like to move in permanently. He is very happy with the staff, surroundings and the care he receives there. The staff are very considerate and kind and are excellent at motivating my Dad to join in
