Cranswick Lodge is a bright and welcoming place. The carers really do care, greet you with a smile and are like a family. I can trust that my family member is well cared for and well loved by all staff. They will always stop and have a chat. All meals look and smell wonderful, all home cooked. The
treats are especially lovely. Cranswick Lodge is not just a care home it's a family home where I know each resident is well loved. Special thanks to Abigail for creating such a wonderful place to visit.

Mum has been in Cranswick lodge for 2 years now. It wasn't an easy decision for us as a family to place mum in Care but we have been helped every step of the way by the Manager, Deputy and all the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and all staff are approachable. Mum seems to have a good light hearted
rapport with a lot of the staff and I feel they understand her needs and personality. Any concerns we have had have been dealt with quickly.

Caring for a loved one with advanced Alzheimer’s is never easy, so finding this care home has been a real comfort to our family.

The carers show remarkable patience and tolerance, even in difficult moments when residents are confused or distressed. They remain calm, respectful, and kind at all times.

When inevitable falls happen, they respond quickly and with genuine care, keeping us informed and handling everything with sensitivity.

What stands out most is that the staff truly care. Even when residents are not easy to manage, they continue to treat them with dignity and warmth. It’s reassuring to know my mother is in such compassionate hands.

Reply from Michael Wood, Content Marketing Manager at Cranswick LodgeThank you for your kind words, your review is hugely appreciated by the whole team at Cranswick Lodge. Kelly and her Team stepped in quickly when i approached them regarding someone that we were supporting in the Community whose needs had changed.
They have now been staying at The Limes for almost two weeks and the full-time support provided has had a very positive impact on their health and well-being.
It
was lovely to see the difference this has made to their lives and the smiles say it all.

My brother has been at Cranswick Lodge for about 3 years and the care as his health has declined has been exceptional. The staff are caring and respectful to all his needs. Always making sure he's comfortable and pain free. When I visit I'm always greeted like I'm part of a bigger family. My brother
has always been very happy with his decision to move to Cranswick.

I would like to Thank for full team for all there hard work and all the support we have received recently. The home went above and beyond in a difficult time for us.
Unfortunately my nanna has just passed and it all happebd so fast from being poorly. My family live in hull and I live out of town and
on my normal weekly visit Unfortunately this is when my nanna became poorly so I stayed. Over the days she became very poorly and i knew I wasn't coming home. The home offered us a huge amount of support, put a room aside as we stayed with my nanna until the very end, offered us food, drink and alot of support.
The home has had its problems in the past and things have turned a corner over the last few months but they did an amzing job at stepping up when it was needed.

From the carers to the management in the office, reception, kitchen, cleaners and my nannas favourite handyman they have all delivered for us a family and did everything for my nanna and our family.

Thank you from us all x

Although I wasn't happy on one day only over my husband's care, I cannot fault the care otherwise. He was left in bed flat out and exposed, then they expected him to eat his dinner. I was furious that he could have choked. They immediately washed and dressed him and put him in his chair so he couldn't
eat properly.
The only other complaint I have is that his food is always cold. Surely there could be a microwave upstairs to reheat food!!

The Limes

My mother has alzheimers and sundowning. She was in the Limes and as soon as she was put in the residential side the manager decided she wanted her into the dementia unit. After a few falls she was taken to hospital, luckily no broken bones just bruising. Once in the hospital, even though her physical
and mental health had not changed they refused to take her back. Now she is in hospital without a place to go. The doctor had prescribed her some calming medication but they hadn't started giving it to her. I feel my mother has been profoundly let down by the management of the Limes. The carers who actually took care of my mother were so lovely. Very caring and understanding of her needs. I feel that it's the managing side of the care home that has failed her. It's so sad and upsetting.

The staff at Cranswick Lodge are all very approachable, nothing is too much trouble. Dad seems well cared for, although personal hygiene could be a little better ie shaved more often. Rooms could do with a good clean and painted for a fresh clean feel, as some areas of the home are a little grubby.

My Brother went into OAKTREE in Bridlington in October 2025. And to be honest if Melvin hadn't come in when he did, he probably wouldn't be with us now. 3 month's ago he was very under nourished, very unwell because he wasn't taking his medication. He was dirty, depressed, and wouldn't communicate with
any of us because he was very confused. NOW he is doing amazingly, he is healthy, put weight on, clean and no longer depressed... NOT just that but he has decided that he doesn't want to leave. He was taken for 8 weeks rest bite and is now a permanent resident. The staff are wonderful, caring, and the atmosphere is always nice. Our family are a lot more relaxed because we know he is happy, healthy and safe. OAKTREE is a lovely place, But the staff make Oaktree a special place..

Your website may say a different picture to what I witnessed today, you images picture a perfect setting. Which is far from reality, absolutely a disgrace, agency carers which don't even have the key code to access the recreational area, is a disgrace, the conditions they are living in, is appallingly
poor, furniture from the 1960s even a charity shop would not engage in taking, 1 member of staff who sat on his bottom in the whole time been there also showing a black eye showed no interaction with patients, and when asked upon to help change a patient his reply was ' I need a break' you been sat on your bottom for 30 minutes, and you need a break, DUTY of care seems a joke, poorly run is an understatement to say the least, was told by 1 member of staff when I asked to use the toilet was replied with' don't use them there disgusting' which I was escorted to some toilet I would not let a dog in, the whole recreational area just stunk of stale urine, no fresh air nothing, awful place
