Beechwood Care Centre

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The care centre has been tastefully planned, furnished and decorated to a high standard. The manageress and her staff are caring, sympathetic and very reassuring in the case of my husband who was diagnosed with Alzheimers and vascular dementia six years ago. I have struggled to try to cope with the
mood swings, depression and anger management this horrible illness brings. I now feel for the first time that when I leave him he is well looked after in a safe and comfortable environment.
Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at Beechwood Care CentreThank you for choosing Beechwood Care Centre for your husbands care and we are delighted at how he has settled in . Your kind words are greatly appreciated and i will of course share them with the Beechwood family.

Alexandra Court has and is a safe and supportive environment, with dementia trained staff who have empathy, not only with the residents but also the relatives who, at times, have a hard time accepting what has happened to their loved ones.
Staff treat residents with dignity and keep rooms and social
areas clean. Food is varied and plentiful, with assistance given where residents are not able to feed themselves.
Management and staff provide a safe and secure environment for the residents to live in. Overall experience is a caring and supportive care home who are always looking to improve (listen and discuss).

My stepdad was in Figham House for respite. He was agitated upon arrival but all the staff were fantastic! Patient, caring - put signs up so he knew where his room was - just made me feel he was a part of their family.
He has recently returned to Figham as the other home he was transferred to didn't
suit! It was like heaven!! They welcomed him with open arms and immediately he seemed more settled.

All the staff have been super friendly and patient with my relative, his needs are complicated and sometimes he can be moody and withdrawn and they care for him amazingly with love and empathy.

The staff at reception are friendly on arrival and always make you feel welcome. Always a drink and a cake

for visitors, love that you can visit most times of the day apart from meal times which is fine.

Facilities are 5 star, like being in a hotel, clean, tidy, fresh and so modern.

Cannot fault one thing.

This is a beautiful new care home, very spacious with lovely rooms. My daughter was admitted a couple of months ago after a spell in hospital during which we were trying ot find a suitable care home for her. At last we found Beechwood and we are very happy with her care there. All the staff do a great
job and treat my daughter with kindness and patience. A special mention goes to the team leaders.

An extremely smart and comfortable home, with excellent facilities and kind, caring and supportive staff. Nothing is too much trouble, and apart from caring for our family member, they are so kind and friendly to family members. It's so lovely to have humour from the staff and manager, at what can be
a sad and stressful time. They do everything possible to alleviate the worry that we have for our family member, who can be challenging.

Excellent care and attention by all staff who were kind and friendly but professional. The home was clean and well maintained throughout.
Nothing was too much trouble.
A five star care facility.
Only negative is that as the home had only just opened not all facilities were up and running e.g the hairdresser.8

Oaktree Hall & Lodge

from L R (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 October 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum has been in Oak Tree for 4 months now and as a family we are more than happy with the warm, friendly atmosphere at Oak Tree and with the caring, genuine staff. They are like an extended family, the staff always have time for us and really do care about the residents. Mum is happy enjoying the company
of everyone, her health has improved and she is no longer lonely.
Mums room is a good size for her personal belongings and plenty of room if she wants to sit and watch TV on her own. She is fussy with food, can complain in cafes and restaurants but has never complained about food at Oak Tree quite the opposite so full compliments to the chef!
We are more than happy with Oak Tree, cannot recommend the staff and facilities enough and will always be grateful for giving us peace of mind knowing mum is safe and happy in the care of genuine people.
Thank you all, Lisa and family
