The rooms where you are sleeping in or I would say myself is too small and once I haven't got enough room to put my clothes in the little three draw chester draws because my clothes are overflowing and I cannot fit anymore in them plus I've only got a small wardrobe with lots of clothes hung up in there
and towels and flannels that I need another and that's all other than the food.

The staff at Cranswick Lodge are all very approachable, nothing is too much trouble. Dad seems well cared for, although personal hygiene could be a little better ie shaved more often. Rooms could do with a good clean and painted for a fresh clean feel, as some areas of the home are a little grubby.

Oaktree Hall & Lodge

My Brother went into OAKTREE in Bridlington in October 2025. And to be honest if Melvin hadn't come in when he did, he probably wouldn't be with us now. 3 month's ago he was very under nourished, very unwell because he wasn't taking his medication. He was dirty, depressed, and wouldn't communicate with
any of us because he was very confused. NOW he is doing amazingly, he is healthy, put weight on, clean and no longer depressed... NOT just that but he has decided that he doesn't want to leave. He was taken for 8 weeks rest bite and is now a permanent resident. The staff are wonderful, caring, and the atmosphere is always nice. Our family are a lot more relaxed because we know he is happy, healthy and safe. OAKTREE is a lovely place, But the staff make Oaktree a special place..
Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at Oaktree Hall & LodgeThank you for taking the time to review our home . What a fabulous success story . We are delighted at how he has settled in and the progress he has made . Your kind words are greatly appreciated and I will of course share them with the Oaktree family .

Your website may say a different picture to what I witnessed today, you images picture a perfect setting. Which is far from reality, absolutely a disgrace, agency carers which don't even have the key code to access the recreational area, is a disgrace, the conditions they are living in, is appallingly
poor, furniture from the 1960s even a charity shop would not engage in taking, 1 member of staff who sat on his bottom in the whole time been there also showing a black eye showed no interaction with patients, and when asked upon to help change a patient his reply was ' I need a break' you been sat on your bottom for 30 minutes, and you need a break, DUTY of care seems a joke, poorly run is an understatement to say the least, was told by 1 member of staff when I asked to use the toilet was replied with' don't use them there disgusting' which I was escorted to some toilet I would not let a dog in, the whole recreational area just stunk of stale urine, no fresh air nothing, awful place

Beechwood provides excellent quality care for my dad and truly understands his individual needs. The home itself is beautifully decorated and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere for both family and friends.
The care my dad receives is person-centred, and the home ensures his health and safety at all times.
The food is lovely, and dad is always well fed. The cook, Tracey, consistently goes the extra mile to make sure his meal preferences are met.
We are always made to feel welcome when we visit, and the staff are friendly, polite, and supportive. They genuinely ensure that my dad receives the best possible care and support.

My mum is in the care home so I am writing this review about her care. The home has certainly started to improve with the new management. We feel there is still some improvement needed, but they are moving in the right direction, and we can go to them with a problem. When we had a problem with mum's
room, they sorted it out by moving her to a room, better sorted for her needs. As a family we are very happy with this as this option was presented to us by the manager, it has been a very good move for mum. We always find her room nice and clean also the home. She has said she is now enjoying the meals as they have got a lot better.

This care home is definitely the worst home I have ever been in and I have been in many as an assessor for H & S care. The food is not acceptable when the regular cook is absent. The cutlery is dirty, the residents on dementia floor are treated as they don't matter, the staff do their best but so many
good long terms staff have left due to unreasonable behaviour from management and seniors. This place was once a happy well-run home but in recent months, has gone from bad to worse. Please get it sorted by using management that care.

The care centre has been tastefully planned, furnished and decorated to a high standard. The manageress and her staff are caring, sympathetic and very reassuring in the case of my husband who was diagnosed with Alzheimers and vascular dementia six years ago. I have struggled to try to cope with the
mood swings, depression and anger management this horrible illness brings. I now feel for the first time that when I leave him he is well looked after in a safe and comfortable environment.

Alexandra Court has and is a safe and supportive environment, with dementia trained staff who have empathy, not only with the residents but also the relatives who, at times, have a hard time accepting what has happened to their loved ones.
Staff treat residents with dignity and keep rooms and social
areas clean. Food is varied and plentiful, with assistance given where residents are not able to feed themselves.
Management and staff provide a safe and secure environment for the residents to live in. Overall experience is a caring and supportive care home who are always looking to improve (listen and discuss).
