The overall experience of the care home has been excellent in all areas: cleanliness, food, expertise of the staff and the facilities. The activities are well thought out and my mum enjoys them and can't wait to show me what she has been doing. The home provides the emotional support that she needs
on a daily basis.

Permanent staff make all the difference at Alpine Lodge. Staff that know the residents really do provide great care.
The activity team are great, interaction, games and hands on stimulation make time pass and ensures residents aren't sat in front of the TV all day/night.
Food could be more versatile
to suit the needs of dementia patients. Please use a specialist dietitian.

Good care home - wonderful caring staff and management - entertainment and activates excellent. Cleanliness good but like 99% of dementia homes have a certain smell - associated with the condition. Always room for improvement - meals - good. As for other homes more staff needed.
Reply from Rachael Dunseath, Head of Marketing at Alpine LodgeThanks for taking time to leave a review, and the praise for our team. I will make sure they are made aware, and will pass on the ideas for areas where we could improve.

My Mother has been in this care home for just over a year suffering with Alzheimers disease. I visit quite regularly at different times of the day. I have always found my Mum"s room to be spotless clean. Also the comunal rooms are well kept. All the care home staff are exceptional and very caring and
understanding of the residents needs. Particularly, the Activities team do great work for the residents. Supervisor, Tracey, on Mum"s wing is amazing. She always keeps me up to date with how Mum is doing. She is a credit to Alpine Lodge and her profession.

Alpine Lodge is the ideal place for my Mum to live her later years. Her desire to be independent is respected, with just enough support for her to feel safe and cared for.

The staff are all lovely and friendly and there are plenty of activities to improve the quality of life for residents.

I'm

very grateful that my Mum is here. It's the first time in years that I've been able to relax and not worry about her.

Keep up the outstanding work all at Alpine Lodge. You are fantastic.

I preface this by saying I recognise there will always be difficult situations in care homes. In my experience, all issues raised have been dealt with professionally and with compassion. Aunty Anita's care place had to be revisited, and it was adjusted with the overriding thought being "This is her
home - let's not move her" Brilliant!! Amendments made. She's safe.

It's such a comfort to our family to know Mum is well looked after and cared for by the staff at Cantley Grange. She loves to keep occupied and enjoys the daily activities planned by the activity nurse. The staff are so genuine, friendly, courteous and caring. They help to make Mum feel safe and we
are so relieved she has found a home she loves.

The care my Mother received was poor on the whole. She was in for short term care (respite) for two weeks but in this short time, the issues were numerous. Her bed was regularly not made, towels not changed, breakfast was regularly served late and the food wasn't of a good standard. The care and support
from staff was mixed, with some members of staff being absolutely lovely, but others not so. We raised a concern about a particular incident with my Mother, which we considered to be bullying by a member of staff, only to be told that the staff member concerned had provided a completely false version of events and it was clearly her word against ours. We were hoping this two week respite stay would be a pleasant experience for Mum, and would pave the way for her to enter residential care permanently. However, this has not proved to be the case and she is reluctant to even discuss going into care now.
Reply from Paul Millar, Client Relations at Cantley GrangeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please be assured that we take all concerns seriously. Whenever I visit my sister and sister in law who are in rooms next to one another I find the staff to be very professional very kind and always polite, even under difficult circumstances. How they keep the smile on their faces sometimes I'll never know. No grumbles from me at all just many thanks for
the care they give.

My mother suffered with Alzheimer's and could no longer cope, living at home with care visits. She moved into Alpine Lodge, and was immediately made to feel welcome and comfortable.
Her care has been exemplary. Daily care was tremendous and the activities were a really brought a smile to her face
albeit fleetingly.
Sadly, she passed earlier this week. The staff were fabulous and carried out her wishes with regard to end of life care.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Alpine Lodge. Thank you for caring.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Alpine Lodge. He was end of life when he arrived, we chose them because of the wonderful care my dad had received in earlier years. Again nothing had changed the care and love he received from the staff was second to none. The meals were first class and great
care and personal choice nothing was unavailable. A special thank you to the nursing staff who made him comfortable in his final days. He was very comfortable and peaceful which was wonderfully reassuring when we really needed them.
Reply from Jackie Brook, Care Relationships at Alpine LodgeThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words about Alpine Lodge. It means so much to us that we could provide comfort and care for your loved one during such a difficult time. We're honoured that you trusted us again and we're deeply touched to know that our team's dedication and compassion made a difference for your family. We'll be sure to pass along your appreciation to our nursing team and kitchen staff, who always strive to make every resident feel cared for and valued.
