Sadly gone dramatically downhill. rarely see any staff. residents unstimulated and left to their own devices. hygiene and cleanliness has much room for improvement. so concerned we decided to move my mother.

Dad's needs have been looked after and he has quickly been moved onto the lower floor and is now much happier. All the staff have been excellent. Nothing too much trouble including a staff member getting dads daily paper from the local shop. I feel very comfortable that he is very safe in this environment.

My dad originally went in for respite care but after a week at Sutton Hall & Lodge he decided he would like to move in permanently. He is very happy with the staff, surroundings and the care he receives there. The staff are very considerate and kind and are excellent at motivating my Dad to join in
with activities. My Dad and I would highly recommend Sutton Hall & Lodge.

About August, September last year, things were a bit lapst and didn't always like what we saw. My mother-in-law wasn't dressed, very nice, hair a mess, plus heavily soiled on her legs. But now wow how things have changed, it's so lovely to visit lovely decoration lovely and clean. My mother-in-law is
dressed just like the lady we know. Before staff would tell us about appointments but when we went the staff that told us had no clue. Plus mum say's all the time how she likes it at Maple Court, and how kind everyone is. That makes us very happy.

my father in law passed away in last August and our experience was so bad we pot a Complaint in to the CQC.
Since the New Manageress has arrived thing's have been noticeably better in an area's my stepmother has been looked after very well and we now feel that the home has a manager who can cope very
well with all aspects. She's very approachable and as are many of the staff. We feel much Happier as a family, many thanks.

Having been a resident at Maple Lodge for just over 2 years (during which time I was a frequent visitor), my dear friend died peacefully on Thursday night. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those at Maple Lodge for the extraordinary care they provided. Both individually and collectively,
these wonderful people were always focused on his needs - this care was underwritten by a determination to maintain his personal dignity, it was compassionate; indeed it was loving. This remarkable ethos was imbued across all the staff regardless of their particular role - working as team where each member of staff was equally regarded by each other, their combined efforts provided exemplary care across all disciplines. My getting to know the people at Maple Lodge has been uplifting . Although he has moved on to an even better place I will still visit my many friends who live and work at Maple Lodge - my profound thanks to you all for looking after a dear friend.

from the welcome you receive on entry and until you leave the care from the staff is of a very high level, not only to the residents but
also the visitors.

Crystal Court

from Roger L (Husband of Resident) published on 15 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

On our first visit, when we were first looking for a nursing home, we were impressed with the entrance which is very welcoming and, after a tour, we decided that we would be happy for my wife to be here. She is on the nursing dementia unit. There is significant continuity of staff on this unit which
is very important. The staff become familiar faces and develop a good understanding of each of their residents. The staff smile which to me is a definite positive, implying that they are happy with what they do. There is always a nurse on the unit. As a (daily) visitor I am made welcome. Management are readily accessible and are happy to discuss any issue and do listen to suggestions. I am always happy to recommend Crystal Court when asked by friends.

Maple Court Care Home

from L K (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 10 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Everyone was very friendly and helpful when my Grandmother first moved into the home at the end of last year. They made her feel very welcome and were very reassuring.
The carers I have come into contact with are always incredible and since she has moved in she is looking so much healthier, eating
well and is getting around more with their support.
They have recently started trying to get the residents to partake in more activities which is lovely. I think if they could have an outdoor area that was accessible to them if they wanted to sit outside with family would be great.
There have been days where I will try to visit after I have finished work and after the residents tea time but on a few of those occasions there is no one there to let you in the building (very aware that it will be a busy time for the carers and there is no one at fault). Maybe making sure someone has a phone to hand so that people can get in touch would be helpful in those instances.

My first experience in reviewing this care home proved to be good. Most prominent was the three levels of care and the segregation of the units for the residents. After further experience, some areas of care have proved to be better than expected, whilst others are still good.

My mum used Sutton Hall&Lodge for 2 weeks respite because my dad was ill and he is her carer.
Mum was reluctant to go but really enjoyed herself there, the staff were great, very friendly and attentive.
My mum has said since she came home that if she had to go again into respite she hopes she could
go there again.

My main concern is the state of the building, the rooms and the hall. The carpets are a disgrace and need removing and a washable flooring to be put down. Replace carpets in remaining bedrooms with vinyl or the equivalent. Curtains need changing and the whole home needs painting asap.
One member of
staff, in particular, is a marvelous asset to this home.

Crystal Court

from Janice C (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5

My mother has been in Crystal Court for around 7 years. Over the years there have been lots of problems, some resolved and some ignored. Over the last few years, the quality of care and cleanliness have deteriorated. I spend most of my visit cleaning and organising her clothes that have just been stuffed
in drawers. However, the incident that has prompted this review is the fact that for the last 3 weeks, mum has had no working call button in her room and she is paralysed and has no other means to call for help. We reported this to staff 3 weeks ago and still nothing has been done. There are some lovely staff that work there, but unfortunately i have been left feeling deeply disturbed that mum has had to sit banging her remote control on a table to try and get attention. Nobody should be treated this way.

Reply from Paul Millar, Marketing Manager at Crystal Court

Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. all feedback is welcomed and allows us to continually develop our service. We understand that the issue in respect of the Call bell has been picked up with the home manager and that it has now been resolved and an investigation is underway as to how this has happened and why it wasn't repaired as a matter of urgency. The point you raised in respect of cleanliness and clothing has again been discussed with the home manager and he would be happy to discuss this with you directly. Again, please accept our sincere apologies for this matter and would kindly request that all matters regarding issues you may have surrounding your Mum's care be directed to the home manager

My mother moved to Crystal Court from another care home. Each time we have visited the staff have been very welcoming and reassuring. My mum looks very well cared for and clean and happy. She has dementia but seem calm. Her room and the general areas are spotless. An activities lady introduced herself
